The Proletariat

More recently, I've noticed proletariat's coffee drinks flavor has gone down. The iced honey latte doesn't taste like it has honey in it. The hazelnut latte doesn't taste like it has hazelnut in it. No matter what drink I try, everything tastes the same. It makes me so sad, because I considered this to be one of the better places of the island.

Very good service and place! Love little places like this. Worth a visit if ever on the island.

Great space and local hangout. I love coming for an evening or late night study/work sesh. There are coffee and tea options along with beer, cider, and wine or sometimes both coffee and wine. Order at the bar for service. Friendly staff. Various activities going on throughout the week so be sure to check them out.

Great atmosphere, drinks, and happy hour special. Great to study or hang with friends after a long day. I absolutely love the rotating art pieces at this coffee shop/bar. One of the favorite places in Galveston!

the dirty chai is good, but probably wouldn't get it again. Barista was kind. Seems to be a cute space for activities like the draft + craft, unfortunately wasn't around long enough to attend. I'd definitely want to come back!

If you want something a bit less tacky and touristy, and a bit more bohemian... this might be your spot. Great music, liquids and music too.

Not exactly what we were looking for. Maybe a better place for at night rather than morning. Coffee wasn't bad but nothing great. Service was ok but a bit abrupt. No pastries.

Have a prosecco of course! Oh! And, a cortado to start because I'm sleep deprivedAmber was the bartender and so sweet.This is the kind of place where there's NO judgement or concern with how much money you make... hence, the name"proletariat" the working class

In spite of being a "pub," it's a great family place - kid and dog-friendly. Unusual beer selection and wine and custom coffees. Some snack and meal options, including pizza by the slice. Most of all, though, it's a community center, hosting special art events and weekly "Sidewalk Sessions" - free musical events featuring local musicians on the sidewalk. AND, it's an art gallery.

Great little spot to grab a coffee or beer, we stop by every time we're in town. Maybe next time we'll try some wine and pizza
