Pretty authentic New Orleans fare around this place -- they've even got a coconut from Zulu Krewe in the bar, one of the most coveted Mardi Gras throws. I live up in the northwest where it's hard to find proper cajun/creole food, so it was a nice surprise to find Abita on tap and get a real shrimp po'boy on Leidenheimer bread. I also got a muffuletta po'boy (I couldn't find a regular one in Atlanta) and a cup of jambalaya. The jambalaya was more meat than rice, just the way it should be, and tasted excellent. Muffuletta used the spicy olive salad, which is a little hotter than I'm used to, but still tasted great. The downstairs bar, I only had enough time for a beer while I was waiting for my sandwich, but had a cool high-energy punk rock atmosphere. Overall, I would say this is a good choice if you're in Atlanta and hoping to find some authentic food from The Big Easy. It feels like a little slice of NOLA.

Good food, not family friendly. Don't bother if you have children. The restaurant is divided into 20% upstairs and 80% in the "basement."Upstairs is only counter service. There are only 4 high tops inside the upstairs dine-in portion. They are too high for toddlers and smaller children. It's really just a takeout counter, not meant for dine-in. The workers upstairs are very nice people.80% of the restaurant is downstairs, which they called a "bar." It really is just a large table serviced dinning room similar to a Taco Mac. There is a full bar but most people are just having a meal at tables .One evening, we took a downstairs table with our one year baby at around dinner time. A server told us they "don't allow children downstairs" and we needed "to leave." We, of course, complied and did not make a scene but felt disrespected by the way it was handled. They could have engaged us in a more gentle manner, especially when there is a baby involved. We like the food here but this policy broadly excluded every parent. The downstairs isn't really exclusively a bar until late hours. They could easily have made it 21 and up after 9pm and at the same time required minors be accompanied by parents. The basement is mainly a table service restaurant, not a traditional bar during meal hours.

Not only do they have an amazing unique sandwich, killer fries, good beer, a really fun basement atmosphere that serves food till two in the morning...They also have good people. Yeah yeah owner and managers Take care of their clients. But there's one story in particular, that came out of nowhere. I'm waiting outside for a friend, and I see someone that is not fully and mentally capable go in and wait in line. A minute later, he comes outside with fries. He has signs of a mental disorder. He's talking to himself and looking around and acting a little erratic. About to enjoy his french fries when an employee walks out from behind the counter. Employee, he's very direct with him and tries to get his attention. From my perspective, this looked like he could get heated. Instead it ends on a warm note. The employee asked if the guy is in need of a belt. The guy with the fries nods, So the employee, without hesitation, takes off his own belt to hands it to the client. Good people.

Brother and Sis-in-Law took me to this spot. It was worth the visit, the portions are large so order a small if you go with a pi boy sandwich. Expect flavors because it's good...it's not New Orleans but it is. Yum! And yes there is a bar downstairs with slots,Pool, darts and more...21+ only. Expect the college crowd to be there. Overall good food, good service,The basement bar is a pleasant surprise. Bring your appetite.

Always a great choice for po boys and gator bites. I had the Cajun corn and it was super sweet and buttery with a touch of spice. I had my favorite- gator bites and they were fried nicely and a good serving size. Hubby had their special appetizer for the night - pesto shrimp called shrimp yaya and the muffuletta salad. He loved them both. I would show after, but it would just be empty containers Local favorite but you must be 21 and up to enjoy the basement bar. They have a small takeout/outdoor seating upstairs for under 21 patrons.

My husband has been wanting to try this place and so we did one Saturday afternoon. We ordered the fried shrimp Po boy and the oyster Po boy which were average. We also ordered fries, bread pudding and a cup of gumbo. The bread pudding and fries were good but that gumbo, tasted like garbage! Seriously!!!That was the worst gumbo that I have ever tasted!!! I would have rated it one star just for the gumbo...but overall our entire experience was average.Nothing special about this place. We also found a vein in our shrimp! We do not plan on dining here again.

While visiting a friend in Atlanta he suggested this place for lunch. We arrived approximately 11:45am. Counter to order is in front of the door with not much seating (all full today). My friend asks if the bar is open and we went downstairs. Wow way bigger down there. They have games, pool tables and plenty of seating. I ordered Shrimp Po'Boy Sandwich and a side of Gumbo. I also tried the red beans and rice. The Po'Boy was delicious perfect amount of shrimp (blackened) & sauce, bread roll slightly toasted. I tried a taste of my friend's red beans and rice at it was really good. On the other hand the gumbo was just ok, nothing spectacular.Service was good and fast.

I like this little hidden gem. It's a very chilled spot in a plaza. I had the boudin balls oh they were delicious and definitely worth trying. The mushrooms was delicious I had to double back on them. The drinks are good and strong but very reasonable. The service was great. I'll visit them again and they close at 2:00am. They have pool tables, slot machines, games and other stuff to play.

This place is a total vibe. Not over hyped like many ATL & surrounding area restaurants. It is what it says it is....good! I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food and the customer service was. As someone who has been disappointed with the food in and around Atlanta, I can honestly say this place is fantastic and I will be returning regularly! Shrimp/Oyster po boy 9/10. Hurricane 9/10Blackened shrimp po boy 8/10They would have to be in New Orleans for me to give a higher score.Every single person who worked there from the time we walked in the door and went downstairs was amazing! Support these folks and go enjoy yourselves!
