My son and I decided to create our own "Taste of Houston Tour" for ourselves. We stopped at some recommended places and picked one item from each place to try. We hopped from one place to another and this was one of our stops. This was actually our first stop since it was one of the top recommended places. I have to be honest I was a little disappointed. I got the one meat plate with pork ribs, mac & cheese, and elote. The ribs were just OK in my opinion, lots of fat, which made the experience stomach turning. The Elote was really good it was the first time I've ever had it, and I did like it. The mac & cheese was very watery and was more like cheese soup with pasta in it. It wasn't flavorful and wasn't really creamy, like you would expect. My son got the brisket and said it wasn't too bad. The person who checked us out was friendly, but all of the other people leading up to that point were not friendly at all. There was seating both inside and out, not too much inside, but the outside patio area looked like it had a lot of seating.

Descent BBQ. The brisket was pretty good and juicy, but the fried okra was too salty to my taste. It was also the only side with no pork in it. Basic open kitchen, counter served, joint. Typical Texan BBQ place where food is served straight up on a paper lined metal tray by weight. The condiment bar was bigger then most other places I have been too. Price is not bad.

catering services for a graduation party, and while the food portion was satisfactory, the pickup process left much to be desired. Despite spending well over $700, the service I received was appalling.The pickup experience was marred by delays, lack of communication, and an overall lack of attentiveness from the staff. What should have been a seamless and enjoyable experience turned into a frustrating ordeal.As a consumer in today's economy, I believe that good customer service is crucial, yet it seems to be a lost art. I urge to prioritize customer satisfaction and strive for excellence in all aspects of their service.Improving the pickup process and reinstating the importance of customer service will not only enhance the overall experience for patrons but also contribute to the reputation and success of the business.Overall, while the food was satisfactory, the poor pickup experience greatly overshadowed any positives. I hope that my feedback will be taken into consideration, and I look forward to seeing improvements in the future.

What's up HOU. First full day here at uni. Houston camp and heard we HAD to get some bbq to eat. This ended up being the closest place to campus that also had good eats. We arrived around 6:15 on a Monday and saw there was a relatively big line (it moves quick)The place was packed and the parking lot is pretty small so ubering there is def an option and be ready to wait in line.FOOD: Now, I ordered the two meat dinner that came with two sides. I decided to go with brisket and jalapeño cheddar sausage. I went with Elote and mac n cheese as my sides. I also had a drink and got their homemade lemonade.The brisket was fantastic. Like, "wow bbq in houston is actually really good" kind of good. It's light, it's juicy, it falls apart. It's awesome 4.5/5The sausage was solid too. I love a spicy and cheesy dish always , but i wasn't in love. 3.5/5Mac n cheese was very bland, honestly disappointed 2/5Elote was solid but not mind blowing 3/5Lemonade. Amazing. Perfect. Fantastic 5/5All the pickled veggies 5/5 love.Overall.... Bbq was great but.... I don't love bbq! Maybe that's my issue, it was good and I'm glad I went but wasn't blown away. ?? Sue me but I'm not just the biggest bbq guy. 3.75/5 overall

Phenomenal Texas brisket and really good BBQ sauce. We arrived on a Wednesday evening and while there was a line, it moved smoothly enough. I chose the two meat platter. Went for the two meat platter and was kinda bummed they were out of the beef ribs, but as the saying goes, God created Arrakis to train the faithful. The brisket rocked, really wish I had more of it. I asked for double brisket but that was not allowed sadly. The beef sausage was good though. The corn was also good. Potato salad was great and I really liked the onions and peppers bar. Overall price was good too.I liked this place. Authentic Texas BBQ vibes and food. Will definitely come again next time in the area. Do attend pardner.

4.5/5 starsCame here on a Saturday around 6:30 pm. They do have a small parking lot, but we did street parking. The line looked short, but it moved slowly, so it took around 35-40 minutes to get our food. You order/receive the food at the counter, then you seat yourself. There's plenty of seating inside and outside. My bf and I got the 1 lb beef rib, 0.5 lb brisket, 0.5 lb pulled pork, 1 sausage, and 3 single sides (Mac and cheese, potato salad, and coleslaw). This was wayyy more than enough for 2 people! We also got a slice of bread, which they didn't charge for. I have to say the beef rib and the mac and cheese blew my mind!!! These were my faves from the meal. The beef rib was incredibly tender, fatty, and juicy. The mac and cheese was perfectly smooth, gooey, and cheesy. The pulled pork was tender and juicy. We asked for moist brisket, so we got some very tender/fatty pieces. Some of the leaner brisket pieces were drier, but some were tender. The sausage was solid. Overall, I thought this place was worth the wait!

Just the smell coming from the parking lot is enough to make your mouth water. It's set up cafeteria style you order get your tray and they dish you up. The food is amazing and some of the best bbq I have ever had. Melt in your mouth brisket, juicy turkey, and fall off the bone ribs. Loved it! The place is busy and seating is limited as well as parking so get there early if you can. The line moves pretty quickly too so you do not have to wait long for your taste buds to be dazzled. Friendly staff and I also recommend (not pictured) their sugar cream pie and Texas chili as in the words of a helpful employee "they slap".

One of my favorite BBQ sauces ever...Coffee Bourbon Sauce!!Very good Loaded Frito pie and Tacos. My chopped beef for the pie was excellent. Sides pretty tasty. Elote salad a 3, potato salad 4.Inside was chaos as the door was held open by others letting heat and bugs in. Long line off people standing over you while eating wasn't great. Maybe a sign or an attendant would help...Customers know your BBQ etiquette please!

One of the best meals I've ever had! Soo good and so much food! Everything was cooked perfectly and service was fast given how busy it was!

I have had the Pit Room on my list of places to try for a while and I'm glad I was finally able to check them out. I ordered 3 meat dinner with an extra side of Jalepeno sausage. Overall, everything was excellent. Below is my ranking:Order:Brisket & Pulled Pork tied for first. The brisket and an EXCELLENT bark on it. So much flavor and extreme pull apart tenderness. The pulled pork was insanely flavorful. It had a hint of sweetness to it and was just melt in your mouth delicious. Pork RibsI only got one rib with the 3 meat dish but it was large. Excellent flavor, and great bite, very very good. Jalepeno SausageI love sausage and just because this came in third doesn't mean it wasn't good, because it was quite good and had a very good smoke flavor to it. I just happened to like the other meats a little more. The dish came with 2 sides and I chose the Mac & Cheese and Elote, both of which I thought were good, not great. The inside was small with a couple of places to sit, but they have a massive outdoor patio which is where I'd recommend you sit as you get to sit outside and enjoy the sun and smell all of the amazing meats cooking away. All in all, if you're in the area I would highly recommend stopping by The Pit Room and trying some great Texas BBQ.
