2 stars for ambiance and location, I'm going to sound a bit harsh here but damn this place stinks yet still:1. Sat at bar, hubs orders one of his fav bourbons and woman (asian) bartender who we could barely understand was trying to talk him out of it pointing to prices in menu as if he was on a fixed income. Annoyed, hubs orders another bourbon on shelf (both pricy) but my hubs likes to drink good bourbon and isn't shy to spend and again with the price point. Needless to say hubs, now 'pissed off' orders a Woodford but he asked for it to be smoked. Received cocktail, watered down (I could see it myself, as I know this bourbon is dark) and no smoke. Needles to say hubs was done with this place. One and done. my Lemoncello was fine. 2. Ordered a couple of appetizers tuna (which was good) and same bartender letting me know the crab dip app is 'cheesy', I'm like "yea i can handle cheese bring it on". Yet, I received, and it was not consumable it was all cheese, hardly any crab, so they need to rename that appetizer 'cheese dip'. The chips were good on the side & other bartender took it off our menu (I ate about 1/3 of it before I just couldn't have more cheese). I'm praying I won't be constipated for a week from eating that cheese dip! NOTE to owner and staff: We like our bartender to be social, to communicate clearly, and be passionate about the mixed drinks they are presenting. We did not find this place picked up on this, although the tenders were friendly, there needs to be more of a passion behind the bar that the bartender lacked (wished we had the guy with the ponytail he seemed interesting). We aren't asking for a Tom Cruise in cocktail movie type but someone who is knowledgeable and communicates well and clearly that we could understand. The appetizer Tuna was fantastic but that crab dip was a complete fail and needs to be taken off the menu like yesterday, esp since the bartender did try to warn me.

So disclaimer: did not have food only drinks. However it looked like they had some great things on the menu. Their cocktail menu is fantastic. We had went for one we had seen online which was a peppermint espresso martini, which apparently was only for their winter menu and it wasn't updated yet for the season. However the bartender said he still had everything and was able to make it for me. Every cocktail looked great and it was strong! Definitely would recommend this place for drinks and it has a large seating area inside for people.

Once again it was a good meal. My favorite are the chips! The server was incredible and did a great job. The kitchen was slow so he offered complimentary soda! Yum.

LOVE the The Peak. We've been to the The Peak a few times (I'm from out of town, but my friend is a local), sat at the counter, and enjoyed a nice, quiet lunch. Upscale, elegant, friendly...and great food. The owner will even stop by and check on you. We're big on signature cocktails and The Peak's cocktail menu delivered. The spiced limeade was the best mixed drink we had all weekend. Solid burgers, great soups, and familiar bar favorites (sandwiches, meatloaf, fish 'n' chips, etc.) round out the menu. This particular outing, we tried the cheesesteak soup and loved it. As always, presentation is on point (and appreciated). Again, we go to The Peak for the upscale, friendly vibe, love the drinks, and stay for the food.

Stopped by for drinks & saw some nice cocktails & always nice front of the house staff. Our bartender/waitress wasn't really into being communicative & interactive as we were wanting on a Friday night unfortunately.

Was very disappointed in our Easter Brunch experience! We paid over $200 for just 3 people. For that price point, I expect a lot better. The service was fine, but the food was so under par. Baked goods were obviously purchased from a mass producer and were of low quality, the potato salad I had to spit out as the potatoes were almost raw, the country ham stuffing was like a bite of pure salt, the biscuits were hard, but the sausage gravy was good. The fruit salad was small chunks of cannelope, honeydue and blueberries which I thought was quite underwelming for the price point. With all the fresh berries available right now, it could have been a spectacular. We stood at the prime rib table with four others waiting on someone to man the station. When he showed up to serve, I mentioned they were low on the horseradish sauce. He turned around and disappeared again for a long time and then returned without the sauce. The kitchen was directly behind him and seems he could have just notified someone to refill the condiments. The prime rib was good. The salmon was portioned pieces covered in pineapple salsa on the buffet line. The pineapple salsa was forgettable and had hard pieces of pineapple in it. For the price point, I expected that the salmon would be served from a station with whole salmon fillet sides with maybe a dill cream sauce and a fruit salsa choice. The "brown butter" carrots "baby carrots" weren't cooked quite enough and had no flavor whatsoever. As far as the ambiance, it's so odd. They seem to want to be an upscale restaurant and certainly charge those prices, but everything they do is kind of amateur. They use cloth napkins, but serve iced tea and water in logo beer glasses. I did see one table with very nice stemmed water glasses. The plateware was good quality, but the silverware had seen better days. When you first walk in, you notice the exposed brick, chalkboard signs, beautiful old wood floors and distressed old tin ceiling tiles, but then when you get towards the back of the first floor, it turns into some very outdated faux paint job that makes you feel like you're in a cheesecake factory. The artwork and sculptures are a weird mix and then we looked down at our table and it was wood decorated with sea life! I like eclectic, but this is just off. They need to decide what look they're going for. Now for the music, what the heck! We sat and listened to some very heavy and dark orchestral movements, a little opera and talking commercials or dj. Also, the music seemed to be coming from a single source towards the back of the first floor. It felt like we were listening to a radio show being broadcast from the kitchen through a single speaker. Don't get me wrong, we love good classical music, but not all classical is suited for restaurants and whatever music you have to be coming from a series of speakers placed throughout the restaurant. I'm a resident of Apex and so want this business to succeed for many years, but as it is now, we won't be returning. So hoping we hear of improvements being made in the future!

I always visit Peak when visiting Apex for business. I had another good meal. The octopus was tender and spicy. Delish!

Love this place. The short ribs are to die for. Great service too! They have an outdoor seating area with bands on the weekends. Heard the band Nightshift there in April. Great local band, great local place!

Pretty good experience. I had the ribeye for dinner and creme brulee for dessert. The steak came with fried potatoes, which were very tasty, and string beans, which were a tad bland. The medium steak itself was absolutely delicious, but went a bit quickly for the price. If I'm trying a place's desserts for the first time, I'll always go for either tiramasu, key lime pie or creme brulee. It was very good, however it sticks very aggressively to the teeth. Funny - the French Press coffee was great, but almost wasn't. When I asked the server (I was her first customer ever) how long the coffee had been brewing, she said "About five minutes. I'd give it another 4 to 5 just to be safe." WHAT????? !!! I poured immediately lol. A.

I met two of my friends and we sat outside. I haven't been back since they first opened and I was honestly dubious but my friends were interested so I decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and the service was fantastic. We started of course with the blue cheese chips. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with pimento cheese and a side salad. Everything was perfectly cooked and fresh. My friend had the soup and salad with ginger and goat cheese. She loved it. My other friend had the Cesar and liked that too. Will be back!
