Monterrey House is one of my wife and I favorite places to have some of the best Mexican food. Service is very kind and they are on their game. The restaurant is spotless as it has always been. They have been around for about 75 years. They have been in Arvada since 1995. They have never changed the food. I will always recommended Monterrey House over any other Mexican restaurant. 10 out 10! I have eaten there for years and will continue to do so

For a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant, I was very impressed with Monterrey's. This was my first time here. It's nothing special on the inside but The service was great and the food was yummy! They made us fresh margaritas that were huge! The guacamole was delicious and the salsa was good ( too spicy for my preference but my friend loved it). I ordered 3 tacos and they were great. I'd definitely come back when looking for a low key authentic Mexican restaurant!

Close But No Cigar!Went on a Saturday for lunch. Very clean restaurant, very nice staff.Menu is very limited. As others have stated, the green chili for the entrees is incredibly soupy. Best served with a spoon. Overall all three meals were bland. Salsa is odd, not horrible, but odd. Something appears to be missing.Midway through the meal, a couple of regular customers brought in a chihuahua and sat down in a booth inside, placing the dog on the bench seat for the meal. Clearly not a service animal. Nasty at the very least.Back to Las Potrancas, El Dorado and Salsa's for future Mexican.

The guacamole is truly the best. The prices are very reasonable. The service is outstanding. The margaritas are the best. I get the Cadillac... Wow! Just one, will fix you right up. This place has stood the test of time. There's a reason for that, simply authentic, consistent, excellent food! They are so very welcoming, and service is fast!

I've tried it twice. Once in the old building and once in the new. Unfortunately it didn't get any better. I really wish it was good as it's so close. But it may be the worst restaurant I've ever been to. The green chili had no flavor at all. Tastes like flour water. The cheese was ice cold and not melted. The meat tasted cheap for lack of a better description. Everything was flavorless. My daughter and I could only stomach about two bites. And I always finish Mexican food. The staff were very friendly but I just can't do it. I'm always shocked to see cars in the lot. I wish they would get an actual Chef.

We want to try this place and I could only stomach two bites. it was horrendous. I had chicken fajitas. It was obvious it had been sitting out for hours. The guacamole had turned black on top, the lettuce was completely wilted and the chicken was rubbery. No flavor at all. This cost $18! I will never go back!

Wow, this is my new favorite. Lived in Arvada most of my life and settled for mediocre Mexican food off of 64th years. So glad I found this!!! The environment is cozy and super clean, staff, attentive, and friendly, not crazy busy and the food is amazing. Fresh chips, salsa, food is great and portions overflowing. All for an unbelievable price. We will be back!

The Aragon family has been going to the Monterey house for 40 years and it has consistently been our favorite Mexican restaurant in the Denver area. The chili con quesos are a must have. The service is always good, and the owners are wonderful people.
