The Laroux Table

The food was great! The restaurant was a small, casual atmosphere located in a building next to a gas station. Overall the food was delicious, my only complaints being my green beans were a little too salty for my taste, and the rice dish my husband had, possessed several pieces of hard uncooked rice in it (hence 3 stars), but besides that, it was very tasty. Our waiter Chase was very attentive to our table of 6, and he got everything we needed when requested. The food came out fairly quickly for most at my table, but my lamb chops took a bit longer than the other meals, which left me still eating when everyone else had finished. I did have appetizers to hold me until those chops came out, and then it was worth the wait. Parking can be tight if it gets crowded because it shares a lot with a gas station, so be aware if you plan to eat in. Besides a few minor issues, I do still think the food and portion sizes warrant a visit.

When i say hands down the best in the city. If you wanna come catch a vibe and eat you some food and dont let me get started on the drinks AMAZING. Customer Service was from everyone highly recommend

10/10 on everything!!!! I Uber Eats the Mac with crawfish, the Surf & Turf, Mardi Gras pasta, fish & shrimp basket, greens, mashed potatoes and and don't don't baby, Everything is amazing.

I had the jerk lamb chop meal with greens (kinda bitter) and Cajun Mac $38.50 was delicious. I also ordered a to go gumbo for $20.00 I haven't tried yet, and two watermelon mimosas for $24.00. For my total to come up to $109.93 after tax you leave no room for a tip, imo that's a steep extra 25% I'm being charged. I understand this is an up and coming establishment which is why it gets 4 stars, Service was slow due to short staffing and they gave me a glass with a random drink I didn't order which I initially thought was nice but I sent it back when I saw a lip print on it when I hadn't touched it. Other than that, I would come back and try another menu item. I look forward to seeing this BOB grow.

Came on a Sunday around 4:30PM as a party of 4. One of the biggest issues here is wait time. We ordered boudin balls, stuffed potato, chicken fried chicken and the La roux pasta. We received each entree at different gaps of time. My grandfather ordered the chicken fried chicken, but after waiting 30 minutes from the time the third plate was brought out, he decided he wanted to cancel the order. Our server stated it was already prepared and she'd bring it right out. We waited an additional 15 minutes before it was brought.Now to the food, Boudin balls lacked seasoning and the crust wasn't that crispy subtle crunch you look for in a boudin ball. It tasted better with the sauce, but underwhelming without. I would say it's a 5/10. Wouldn't order again.I received my pasta first, and attempted to wait for the rest of my party to get their food because it is a courtesy to eat with your party. After 10 minutes of waiting, I decided I didn't want my food to get cold and ate. The pasta was a 6/10. The chicken was over seasoned and gave a salty taste.Stuffed potato looked more like loaded mashed potato's. Not sure why It didn't come with skin. Chicken fried chicken was tender and not dry at all. The asparagus was overcooked and disappointing. Our server was more than accommodating when fixing the problem and apologized several times. She was a sweet heart considering she had to manage all tables by herself. We exchanged it for the red beans and rice, which was more like a bowl of rice and 5 red beans. To drink I had the La roux punch for $3 a pop. Upon leaving, I ordered one to go, but didn't get charged the $1.77 refill and was charged for 2 drinks instead. It tasted like kool aid. Very sweet and well made. 10/10. It was 6:30PM and I attempted to order the vanilla caramel fudge cheesecake, but was told they could not make it because they were about to close. Disappointed because it sounded amazing.Personally, I've heard great reviews about this place but did not have the best first impression.

When you first walk up to the bar area, a sign reads three people will be charged an 18% gratuity. The food was underseasoned; Pictures are CAJUN LAROUX PASTA MADE WITH ALFREDO SAUCE, CHICKEN, HOUSE HERBS, FRESH GARLIC AND PARMESAN. I guess the fresh herbs are the greenery on top; the pasta had no Cajun or garlic flavor, and it was under-seasoned. CHICKEN FRIED CHICKEN/SERVED WITH GREEN BEANS As you can see, the green beans were as old as the taste. STUFFED POTATO SERVED WITH CHICKEN, and the BROCCOLI was not fresh; it was mushy. Customer service training is recommended. No, I will not return!!

Chick on the phone said we couldn't order for pick up when my husband called at 6:23pm on a Sunday to order gumbo.For the record, gumbo doesn't take 30 mins to make and you don't make it from scratch, on the spot..She said we couldn't order because of the time and all of their food takes 30 mins to make.He said "what about gumbo? You don't make it like that."She replied "Yes, we do."Lol, ok girl..2 stars because it was hilarious.

I ordered to go yesterday afternoon after googling for close by Cajun Style cuisine. I also checked out the Yelp review and pictures from the menu. I had hot honey shrimp and the Surf n Turf Pasta. Hot Honey Shrimp is generally as in appetizer but I requested for it to be served as a shrimp basket. Hot and spicy , but very good.The surf n turf pasta is very filling with three proteins included . Salmon is blackened and very well seasoned.There's definitely other items I look forward to trying.I would also like to touch base on the negative reviews that people have left in terms of the establisment's ambiance. This restaurant is up and coming. You negative nay sayers act like the likes of Pappas,Boudreaux's, or any large scale restaurant's etc, did not all come from humble beginnings in terms of location or decor. I also know that Black Owned Businesses are put under a massive microscope as compared to others.I say all that to say this : La Roux Table, keep doing what you're doing. Let your food speak for itself. Your clientele and business will prosper.

I was visiting my best friend and line sister. We are all foodies, I asked her "hey what are some places you've been meaning to try?" Fast forward: this creole menu did NOT disappoint! The location is in a gas station, but y'all- the service is great. Very attentive. The food was even better . I tried the boudin balls and the salmon Cajun fried rice . My best friend got the swamp fries and the mardi gras pasta. My line sister got the fried chicken Mac and cheese . We also got the peach carafe . The music they played was a vibe and I would definitely come back. Support your local business!!

Discovered this spot through my line sister who was craving Cajun food (and who does not live in Houston might I add LOL)... so just for a head's up, the restaurant shares the building with a gas station, but you're in the right spot! The food was good, I had the chicken fried Mac n cheese. It was definitely a lot and we could have shared. The service could be a little bit better, simply because there was no one really in there but it seemed to have been just one waiter. Overall, I would visit againP.S. They do have hookah and games and the music was bomb!
