Ok so I came with my girls and we ordered at the same time! My girls food came out and it has literally been over 29 mins and I'm still waiting! Like these raggedy a#% chics walking by my not even Noticing or paying attention to the anger look on my face. It seems that these women cater to men mostly. I wouldn't come back here to eat, perhaps to chill...... Maybe not to mention I came here from out of town! I was pissed

I'm only giving this place 2 stars because the food looked good. Unfortunately I never got to taste it! I was with a big party, who made reservations in advance. We were informed that reservations are NOT honored on Sundays. We waited for a table to clear. A large party left, but the table remained dirty for 30 minutes. While we were waiting at the door, another party leaving told us not to eat here because the customer service was horrible. And they did not lie! Eventually we were seated -- but the table remained dirty. We patiently waited and no one finished cleaning off the table, offered drinks, gave us a menu. Nothing! We left after 30 more minutes of no service. It's unfortunate they let 12 people walk out the door -- which leads me to believe they don't really care about money walking out the door. We were there for a birthday gathering so it was about to be lit. Oh well... Next time (if there is one), I'll just sit at the bar.

My party was there Wednesday evening on April 18th . We were a party of about 6 to 10 people. Two of our party, Jeff and I, showed up around 5pm. Others of our party trickled in later. We were there primarily for the all-you-can-eat crab legs. Chef John stopped by and ensured us of a good experience. We then had several servers offer assistance. The servers were Taylor, Char, and Destiny. We found out that Destiny was actually offering hookahs. Char was our actual server. I'm not sure who Taylor was. Char brought chips and salsa around 5:30pm. It was not to our liking. The chips and the salsa tasted cheap and store bought. We decided to order around 6:15pm. By then, we had about 6 or 7 people at that point. Char, our server, was not aware of the all-you-eat promotion. She checked and said it was OK. She took our order. It took about an hour or more to get our food. During this time, there was a gentleman, named Harrison, who offered various hookah flavors for us to try. We FINALLY got our food and started to dine. The food was OK with the star of the show being the shrimp. They were delicious. There was another gentleman, I think his name was Dre, who came by and offered free drinks. Several companions accepted the offer. We ordered several more clusters. It took an average of 45 to 60 minutes to get additional clusters. It was a painful and frustrating experience. Other dining companions had various complaints about the mac n' cheese, no red velvet waffles, and the spinach not tasting very well. Everyone agreed that the shrimps were fabulous. On another note, the décor, particularly the white sofas, was magnificent. The experience seemed to be very haphazard and disorganized.

My best friend wanted to try this spot so we came here on a Sunday for brunch. We waited at least 30 minutes or more to be seated. After we finally sat down we were told it was an hour on all food orders. I was frustrated because I was hungry and I'm pregnant so I need something right away. Luckily I had some snacks in my purse. It took forever for our server which was the bartender to get our orders and drinks. So while we waited there was live music which was very entertaining. We definitely enjoyed it. We sat in the room with the live music but there was the option to sit in the lounge area where it's more like a club atmosphere. Our food came out at exactly one hour later. I ordered the pancake special with eggs, pancakes and bacon with a side of grits. My friend ordered some kind of crab legs with sausage and corn dish. Her food was COLD. She had to send it back. You would think after waiting an hour they would've done better than that. But my food was pretty good. I enjoyed the food. Just wish the wait weren't so long. Overall, I feel it has potential. They need to work on their service. If I decide to go back not sure that it would be during brunch hours.

My girlfriends and I were in town and were recommended to attend the Friday night comedy show here. We arrived about 10ish and were escorted to the front. We parked along the street. Tight security. The place is pretty big as you walk in to the restaurant portion which turns into a lounge area with a DJ and stage for comic acts. Entry was free. The place wasn't packed yet but guests were slowly flowing in. We all ordered drinks (long islands, Jack D) and 1 ordered food- catfish dinner which tasted pretty good! The comic acts were a lineup of about 7 rated between not good (one guy stated he's too high and provided no jokes) to other mature acts actually bringing the funny. I'm not a comedian but when you provide any form of entertainment, give a speech, presentation, etc. you should provide the same quality of service to a crowd whether it's 10 people or 100K in the audience because you're still representing yourself. Those acts were straight horrible and a waste of time. I see the potential but some kinks still need to be worked out.Other then that our server was very attentive and gave us service with a smile. The DJ was rocking & we were able to take pics with the comedians afterwards.

The best brunch I have been to in a long time! Came here to celebrate my bday and I'm so happy about it. We definitely need a place like this in NYC. I was recommended to come to this place by my friend who frequents. As soon as I walked in I was amazed at the decor and how rich the place looked. Made me feel like I was in VIP without paying for VIP. The music was poppin and DJ was live. I ordered food which was delicious and we also ordered hookah. The waitresses were all so nice as well if the hosts of the party. I even participated in some birthday games suck as musical chairs. I also met Aunt Deb which didn't seem like a big deal to other people but because I am a New Yorker I was excited! I would recommend this place to everyone!

First of all I know it's shnday and I know they're busy. My group and I arrived at our 1pm reservation at 1pm. We had a waitress come brought out our waters. After a hour and half as I am writing this we still have not hear waited. Several time we asked aweveal different waiters, hookah girl and hostess about who was going to tend to us and no body has an answer. Clearly they are short staffed but we had a reservation and STARVING. It's my friend's birthday with a gues of about 15 and 4 people just left. She is crying and upset. We are all upset and frustrated. I'm literally STARVING as I'm writing this. I've gotten up to ask one more time for a waitress while I'm typing this. I literally called the restaurant number. I've tried to see if there's a corporate number. This is outrageous oh and let's not forget the fact that I am STARVING!!!!!

I went Sunday and forgot to post my review. I went during the day party hours, and...... it was just okay. My shrimp and grits took an hour and 32 minutes to come out. The shrimp were cold and so was the side of turkey bacon i ordered. "Why didn't you send it back"? Because our waitress was MIA like completely. Andrew was nice but he could only do what he could.

This place used to be formerly known as the Blue Ivory. Now, this place is known as the Ivory Restaurant. Being that it is a restaurant, the expectation is that food would be restaurant quality too. Our party of four made reservations to only be told that the reservations online wasn't taking reservations properly. We got here at 12:30 pm for brunch and waited until 2:50 pm to receive our lukewarm meals. When we informed our server of this, she quickly microwaved our plate for us. Chicken & Red Velvet Waffles: undercooked chicken with room temperature waffles; syrup was goodGrits & fish: okayEggs: soggy (was chicken broth added to it ?)Atmosphere: the radio station was here and there was a live band; goodMimosa: hit or miss, not consistent Server: did she even know we were there?Overall experience: 1.9
