The Hop

Great place to dance w/variety of music from 50s - current. Live DJ "spins" music, takes requests & makes ur special event announcements, i.e., anniversary, b'day, etc. Drink specials vary nightly & sometimes there's a time limit on them, e.g. " 90 secs. " Come early for buffet food; NOT "finger food. Come late (esp. on weekend nights) & there's a nominal cover charge. Dance, dance, dance (or simply enjoy being a "wallflower" & be entertained)!

This is an awesome night club! This is a good place to get a lot of exercise and relieve stress from a hard day at the office and with good music. It does get a little crowded so it is better to get there early to get a seat. The service is great!

This is a great night club/dance bar. It is a bit out of the city but it's nice to get out sometimes, there are a lot of restaurants near for pre or post "boogie" cravings...The bar is much nicer than The Hop that is located near Clear Lake. It's a bit more upscale and a larger dance floor with cleaner (for a bar standard) restrooms and ample room away from the music. It was nice they had a few pool tables and several bars in club for easy access to drinks.The crowd is a bit older, mid-40's would be the average. The music is like a blast from the past. Mostly 70's era and some 80's and early 90's. They accept song requests so there's sure to be something of your taste. They play a lot of Dance Disco and also play a lot of current rap/hip hop/country. They do a lot of line dances which is a lot of fun even if you're by yourself for the eve or with a large group. The crowd seems to grow as the evening progresses and it then becomes a nice mix of young/mature people, which is nice if you're used to the college scene...The drinks are well priced and are usually prepared with some entertainment, including fire breathing bar tenders! They run specials on Friday, usually $2.50 (cheap liquor) for well drinks and $1.50 jello shots. Saturdays are $3.25 domestics and $1.50 jello shots. Be careful, the shots in the tubes are $3.00 and NOT $1.50, the jello and tube shots are usually on the same carrier that the mobile bar tender brings around. All in all it was a great place to have fun. It's very entertaining to watch people on the dance floor. Feel free to get out there and give any of the dances a try, the crowd is forgiving and accepting. Enjoy!

My wife and I love this club! Great music from many different eras, great big dance floor and the staff is awesome. A "HOPping" spot for sure.

Looks sketchy from the outside. In an abandoned shopping center. I have no idea why they have valet. Older crowd, weird music variety. Decorated like a sock hop strip club. Excellent people watching if you want to see a bunch of ghetto old ladies in sparkly club dresses and wannabe pimps in lounge suits and Chinese dragon Hawaiian shirts. Drinks are cheap enough. It's off the beaten path, but if you go with friends who can have fun anywhere, it's worth a visit to view the ridiculousness that is this place.
