The High Lonesome

Favorite cocktail bar in LoHi! Very mellow atmosphere partnered with a dim cowboy saloon vibe. The space itself is quite small with maybe a dozen 2-4 top tables, medium sized bar top, and one pool table. They have a fantastic eclectic selection on draft with a deep selection of spirits. Service is friendly and direct. I appreciate that HL keeps a few classic cocktails set aside for a more affordable price. Plus Happy hour all day on Mondays. 4-7pm normally I believe.

The High Lonesome is a neighborhood bar that has been around for 8 years. A bison overlooks the patrons from the bar with a great selection of whiskey and other spirits. Bartenders are super friendly and greet you when you walk in the door. They have a rotating list of cocktails based on the season as well as a large selection of beer. My favorite, though, is their House Old Fashioned. Usually $10 on their regular menu but also on special frequently. A smooth yet boozy blend of a dash of bitters, simple syrup, orange peel that is twisted into the cocktail, and whiskey poured over a cube of ice. Perfection.

I usually am not one to leave reviews... but after driving 6.5 hour from Albuquerque my husband and myself had a hankering for an old fashioned. Of course, this establishment popped up! While the crowd wasn't what we were expecting the bartenders on this Friday evening outing made up for it in leaps and bounds. We will definitely be back in the future to chit chat with those lovely ladies behind the bar.

High Lonesome is as close as you can get to the textbook definition of a neighborhood bar. I like the name, I dig the vibes, and it's one of those places that can appease any type of bar rat.Located in the Highlands on Navajo, set foot in a laid back and casual atmosphere. It's divey, has a pool table and a jukebox. You're here for a good time, so drink up. Cheap beers in bottles and a really nice selection of whiskies. The fact you have the option to order a made to order, hand crafted cocktail or a cheap beer resonates with me.My only qualm with this place is that is usually takes me a million years to get a drink. I've been here half a dozen times and I don't know if it's just bad luck on my end, but I've had to wait at the bar for a long time. The bartenders work hard and sometimes are dealing with rowdy patrons, I've just been skipped a handful of times. Won't stop me from coming back, just my experience!For cocktails, you can't go wrong with their house old fashioned or negroni. Or even their Japanese whiskey highballs. They do have a rotating selection of house cocktails too that I've had previously and enjoyed. For beers, I love that they have Coors Banquet, Hamms, Lone Star and Miller High Life for $4. They also boast some great local ales for only a few bucks more.Great neighborhood bar. Should be in the rotation more often. Bring your crew and saddle up for a fun night at High Lonesome.

Cool spot! I love how this bar is just outside the madness of the LoHi scene which gives it a way more relaxed and casual vibe. The cocktails are great and boozy, the staff is chill and knowledgeable, and the decor is super casual and cool. Not a huge spot inside, but enough room for varied seating and a pool table. If you're a whiskey fan, they have you covered. If you're not, well, they have you covered too!

Hip little bar in the highlands. Great place to stop for a date night or to grab a tasty cocktail. Ambiance is kinda dark and pretty chill but I enjoyed having a couple drinks at the bar before our dinner reservation.

Looking for a cocktail bar without the ridiculous prices and pretentiousness? The High Lonesome is a great choice for you! The drinks are cheap and bartenders are cool. Plus they have a pool table for a $1.00/game and it seems like a good amount of people go there to play pool if that's your thing. Check it out!

Immediately loved the atmosphere of the bar. Drinks are great and the bar tender was attentive. Will be back when I'm in Denver!

Worst espresso martini I've ever had. The bartender was behind the bar taking shots while I waited there for over 5 minutes to get served. Espresso martinis are suppose to have foam and espresso beans. Not garnished with a orange slice that looks like this for $13. Ambiance was nice but had a weird smell
