The Hidden Gem Diner

It really is hidden! We went here on a lark, based on the reviews. Wow! The locals know. Now, the cook will very humbly claim "the best gas station taco you'll have this morning" And he's right, but dang are they good! Actually great! The secret is a little creative license in how everything is prepared. Eric Croteau, executive chef, here is a maestro. He makes magic happen SERIOUSLY. A smart restraunteer would steal him away!!! Guy Fieri heads up....you are missing out!!! You must give him freedom for his high creativity and high quality standards thrive. The place is a tiny place in the back of the Lake Conroe Country Store and Texaco gas station. We were blown away and he is such a nice person. Wow wow wow!!! The breakfast tacos are bliss. The biscuits and gravy rock and he is so passionate about what he does. Stop here! You will walk in a say wait.... no way... but order sit down and just wait for it... then you will be mind blown!!!! Favorite quote "It's never too early for a burger" and when you order when he asks how you would like that, tell him "however he would eat it" Then set back and enjoy.

It was a damn good chicken fried steak, don't let the gas station part fool you, it's called hidden gem for a reason.

My husband still dreams about the burger he had here. It's literally been months and he still talks about it.

We did a double take, as it's inside a gas station. We gave it a try and we are glad we did. The name is completely appropriate. My son loved his bacon, egg and cheese sandwich so much, that I ordered a second one to go. I had a made to order omelets, it was phenomenal!

It just wasn't the atmosphere we were hoping for. We have enjoyed many eateries inside cash stations but this one you felt crammed in the corner of an unmaintained one. It overshadowed my focus to enjoy meal.

This place lives up to its name. Hidden in the back of a gas station, but the food is sooooo good! Great service and friendly too!

Definitely a Hidden Gem. Don't be deterred because it is inside a gas station. There are a lot of unexpected great eats inside gas stations. The person cooking is actually a chef with formal culinary school training. We will definitely come back!!

Best bacon cheeseburger and fries I've had in a very long time. Service was excellent as well. I'll be back soon to try other items on the menu.

Outstanding experience. Had a patty melt that is something I will brag about at party's! It had a crispy texture on toast that you won't find at Whataburger. The cook was super friendly and wouldn't just give you fry's as a side, he had recommended other sides as well. Oh and he loves his cat lol.

Bed experience l! Been wanting to support this small business and the moment I walked up I wasn't greeted but suggested I hurry and order breakfast because it was 2 minutes after 10am buuuut he will make it. So we decided to go somewhere else and he said "I'm so sorry you wasted your gas for nothing" this tall slender white dude in his 30s barked up the WRONG tree!!! I think he regretted ... he needs a hug!!
