Came away from the Hayes pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it - would absolutely recommend to anyone. There's a good menu and everything tasted great, the service was quick and friendly, the ambience is cozy but not stuffy. Would love to go back and try the extensive drink options sometime as well.Walked by the Hayes so many times and sorry that I didn't give it a try until now - big fan!

Shockingly delicious food and drinks. The portions were a little bit smaller than expected, but everybody was absolutely delicious. The staff was extremely helpful, the venue was very cosy and cute but it's definitely a lot more casual than dressy. Prices are reasonable but because the portions are smaller, things start to add up quickly. I still absolutely recommend, study the menu before you come! It's good for groups, a friend or two, or even a date!

When you come, refer to the cocktail menu at top left and get "Cure What Ails Ya". I was blown away! Overall, it is mine & my husband's second time here and we definitely want to keep coming back. The staff is very nice, ambiance is inviting. We haven't had food yet, but shared french fries with our drinks both times and this place definitely has good fries! So far, one of our favorite spots in the city! I feel bad that this place got a negative first review from someone who cannot construct a proper sentence. Seems very undeserving and not making much sense. Hopefully other patrons share my admiration for this spot and leave a positive review.

A romantic restaurant with exceptional cocktails and great craft beers on tap (Pliney the Elder!). Attentive service and great ambience make this a must visit in Philly.

I love the coziness of a booth and there's 3 upfront in the bar area. I also noticed a small private dining room which I'd enjoy for a group! The menus had several tempting choices but I chose the barramundi and seasonal vegetables. This was truly the best version of the dish that I'd ever had! I wish I'd had a bit of bread to get the last drops of a buttery grain mustard sauce that is truly better than mine and mine is amazing! The ambience was enhanced by the rocking playlist of music from my teen years which was a welcome treat. Waitstaff was entertaining...I was told the same chef operates next door so I will be back!

Took a client here for a burger and fries. Service was ok but they had 3 tables in the restaurant and I took a solid 20 min for drinks, when we had beer. Food was ok, I had a burger and French onion soup, not bad but it's not a place I'd say ohh I have to come back. Even with the good reviews, it was just ok

Came here for restaurant week and not sure if they were short staffed or what? The service was remarkably slow and it didn't seem too busy. It took about 45 mins to get our appetizers served. I got the French onion soup and I actually enjoyed it--but it was a little too sweet for my partner. I also got the steak frites and it was the toughest cut of meat I've ever had. You REALLY had to chew on it and I ordered it medium. The dessert was alright, but I don't know if I could wait over 2 hours to finish a meal here.

We went for restaurant week and it was immediately apparent that they were extremely understaffed when there wasn't a hostess so greet us. We waited almost 20 minutes to be seated when we made a reservation. After we were sat, it was very clear the entire restaurant waited hours for their meals or checks. Drinks were ordered and we opted to leave after hearing other guests around us experience. The whole ordeal from waiting to be sat and ordering drinks were an hour. Giving it 2 stars since it was clear the waitress was doing her best given the circumstance.

This is one of the poorest meals I have had in Philadelphia. The onion soup is so sweet that no amount of salt could cut the sugar in the soup. It was inedible. Conversely, the fries are overly salted and gritty from the salt. As my friend was sliding out of the booth, her leg was punctured by a nail that was sticking out of the wood. She is now at the ER waiting for a tetanus shot at 9:30 at night. The woman who served us was certainly nice, but we would not return or recommend. Go across the street to Caribou Cafe for a better meal.

Went with two friends the other night and had a great time. Sorry for no pics, but everything we had was fantastic. I had an Old Fashioned and it was delicious. One friend had the Witch Hammer and loved it, the other had a vodka & tonic. All drinks were large size. We shared a few appetizers: French fries (huge yummy portion), Spicy Charred Broccoli (we cleaned the plate) and the Artisinal Cheese Plate (lots of variety). We ended by sharing the Olive Oil Lemon Cake with Blueberry Compote (scraped that plate too!) and I couldn't resist trying an Espresso martini. Glad I did, it was one of the best I've had. If you're a beer drinker, they had tons available on tap. For the portion sizes of the food we got, I thought the prices were reasonable.
