The Grove.A lovely place, the glass all around creates a magical look with the lights reflecting off the colorful downtown Houston. Busy during the weekday dinners, which, quite expectedly consists of the workforce crowd. The place has limited vegetarian options, but they will accommodate on any other dish wherever possible.I got myself the vegan cauliflower entrée which came with a side of mashed potatoes. It was pretty good, and the quantity was not the regular Texan size, so I could finish the whole thing. The welcome sin of the day though was the chocolate cake! It was just soo good, got that as a to go as I was already full but one bite into it later in the hotel, and I simply devoured it without a stop. The little berries in between where a crunchy surprise and added so much flavor to it.Whenever I am in this area, and want to cheat on my diet with chocolate cake, now I know exactly where I am going to go.

First time at The Grove to celebrate the birthday lady. The service was great and the ambiance is really nice. I love how spacious the place is. Now, if you're vegetarian there are just not many options for you (us) on the menu which sucks. Thankfully for me I'm pescatarian sometimes (do we really need the labels?), so technically I could have indulged in a seafood entree. I ended up ordering the blue crab corn fritters and made that my meal along with that delicious ass bread! Y'all the bread and the butter is a treat. I'll go back just to order that and a beverage. I originally ordered a martini and it was an absolute no for me- it tasted like rubbing alcohol ahhh. Opted for a glass of wine instead. The margarita was good as well. Overall, The Grove was a good experience. They do give people celebrating their birthdays a free treat and I must say that the berries and cream dessert was delightful.

Met with a potential vendor at the restaurant and had a pleasant experience. We were promptly seated, which is a bonus for downtown/Discovery Green area. Although it got a bit busy after we were seated, the service remained excellent. I appreciated the teamwork among the staff, assisting each other with serving tables. The chicken sandwich was tasty, with well-cooked and crispy chicken. However, the shredded lettuce made the sandwich messy, which was a downside. Nevertheless, the overall experience was positive, especially enjoying the view of the park from the venue

Great restaurant. The pics in yelp of the restaurant don't do it justice. Really good food and service. Tried several dishes including the first time I've ever seen "fried" potato salad. While the potato salad was different it was actually pretty good. The food also went well with a great open concept restaurant that also felt quite airy with all of the windows that open to the park. Definitely worth stopping in if you are in Houston.

I've been to The Grove twice this year. Both times for work events, one of those events being last Wednesday evening. The other, for an event I hosted back in October. The restaurant is within a sustainable smart LEED certified building and very conveniently located in the heart of Discovery Green and across from the GRB. It also isn't at all far from Minute Maid Park , Toyota Center and other notable venues. The Grove staff is phenomenal and goes above and beyond to accommodate your event. Shout out to bar manager, Jesus and bartender, Doug who really go the extra mile. I emailed and called Jesus so much when I was planning out my event and he was always available and eager to expand on my enthusiasm, providing excellent ideas for making my event even better. The food and drinks are delicious and they keep them coming. Valet parking for only $10 if you can't find street parking which I believe is free after 6pm on the weekdays and all day Sundays.

Loved the food and options here! The drinks, apps, and meals were innovative and unique! Loved the ginger margarita and the burrata. The service was prompt and friendly, and the space accommodate our rather large group very well! I will be back in Houston this winter and plan to return!

Good food. Good table service. Good drink selection. There for a corporate dinner in early November this year. The high ceiling helps reduce the noise of a large open space. It would be 5 star if the hostess hadn't snapped at us over simple questions like asking for a menu that we needed to wait for our waitress who was really busy right now. The sarcasm that she would get to us when she possibly could wasn't lost on us. At most restaurants, the hostess seats you with a menu and this was odd.

I really enjoyed my visit to The Grove one afternoon. This is a unique restaurant with beautiful decor, and I would describe the interior as artsy, colorful, elegant and inviting. Beforehand, I wasn't sure about what to order, but once I arrived, the Ahi Tuna Poke and Blue Crab Fritters seemed like great choices. Originally, the Ahi Tuna Poke was served with a miniscule amount of wasabi-avocado puree, but after alerting the waiter, he quickly fixed the issue. This is a delightful savory dish with an excellent ponzu sauce. The Blue Crab Fritters are so delicious, and have the texture of a beignet. I even loved the bread and butter. To me, this is such a wonderful restaurant. Highly recommended, especially for lunch.

The pork chops were so salty they were inedible. My wedge salad was good but the blue cheese was bland--that is not usual! Steak was ok.Blackened Fish was good. Old fashions were okay. And the Aperol spritzer was decent. Service was decent. Won't be back for the price.
