The Great Kanakas Atomic Tiki Bar

A newbie all over, left League City 5 yrs ago - just to return. Finding a friendly bar is not easy. 2 out 3 did not make me feel welcomed. THIS ONE DID. The bartender was outstanding & had a kind vibe. I found my go to now. This is where I will spend my hard earned money. Wings were outstanding- but the bacon & tomato grilled cheese was off the charts good. Tomato soup dip to boot? Oh my yes. This place rocks. I love this place.

I was expecting a bit more personality from a tiki bar, and when we asked for a drink menu we were handed a list with a few (4?) special drinks. I'm new to tiki bars and was disappointed not to see a list of the traditional options with their ingredients listed out. The beverages we did try were just so-so.

Chris the bartender is a skinny tattoo'd man that has a great sense of humor and lack of filter. I came inside from the heat about to die, and somehow he knew exactly what drink I needed. They have one of those touchtune Kareoke machines. The joint is small enough to be a Kemah "cheers" where everyone seemed to know everyone, but large enough to welcome newcomers like myself.

The food and service is awesome. Tuesdays are half priced and the vibe is super chill. There are two digital dart boards and karaoke on Sundays. Edward is an awesome daytime bartender. I definitely recommend checking this place out.

What a fun little spot! Sometimes difficult to find a seat but who cares! Their drinks are the bomb!

Be Careful their 'TIKI' drinks with rum don't have a price anywhere that is posted and they are $12 each and mostly ICE!!! Pretty pricey night out! The burger was good and the bar tender friendly, but the advertised prices at the door are for select drinks. KNOW before you GO!!!!!

The best bar in the Clear Lake area. Great vibes, amazing food, and even better drinks. The owners Suzie and John make you feel at home. The bartenders Chris and Stephanie are amazing. They have amazing outdoor seating that backs up along Clear Creek.

Such a fun bar! The atmosphere and service was great! Shout out to the amazing bartender Chris! Definitely worth a stop if you're in town!

Not great and a far cry from being atomic. Bar tender is what killed the experience. Ordered then waited and watched her fumble around the bar with no sense of urgency - trying to gwt a customer on their way outs tab, try and talk to another patron about the menu options, and then try and figure out what goes into a Bay Breeze. We left after 10 min of no service after our drink order was placed - which was seemingly a simple pair of beers. Hoped this place would have turned out to be a nice neighborhood watering hole when they opened, but alas no such luck.
