Great spot to grab beer on draft in the Social District!. The Botanist and Barrel - Pinkie's Up Cherry and Blueberry Cider was refreshing and I picked up a couple of cans of CPD mimosa coolers from the refrigerator.

The Glass Jug Beer Lab has opened a taproom in Downtown Durham. The spot was really cute, you can sit inside or outside. My husband had a pint of equinox & solstice (a saison) and I did a flight. You get 4 beers in a flight, I chose the opacity (hazy IPA), transparency (American IPA), my friend wilson (NEIPA) and apricot pomegranate pi (sour). My favorite was the opacity. Cheers!

I've been a fan of the Glass Jug location at 54 and 55 (when something isn't in downtown Durm, it's probably at 54 and 55) for years so I was excited to check out the downtown location. Admittedly, this was my first outing since COVID restrictions were rolled back so I was a little apprehensive. No surprise and similar to the OG location, I was put at ease as soon as I walked through the door. Plenty of space to spread out, friendly staff, a nice outdoor area, a great selection of beers, and reasonable prices. I've got a relatively short list of downtown watering holes that are 1) friendly; 2) not overly stuffy or expensive; and 3) inviting. The Glass Jug Beer Lab has made the cut.

Definitely recommend Glass Jug Beer Lab for a drink and a relaxing good time! The gentleman that helped me was so kind and helpful. I got a chance to sample a couple of their ciders and decided on a local ginger beer that was refreshing and a little spicy. They make a lot of what they serve at their original location off of highway 55. Check them out for local music and game nights!

The bartenders are very nice! She gave us very good beer recommendations. We ordered a flight so we could try out 4 things. It was pretty good beer. The place was really chill, there were people who brought dogs inside and there was live music too

Their original location in south Durham is a hit, and they just opened this downtown location very recently. We popped in on a Wednesday night, ordered some beers, and sat outside. Keep in mind this location is only a taproom whereas their other location sells bottled and canned beers as well. The wait staff was very pleasant and I really, really enjoyed my dry stout (and I've had a few stouts in my day). This location seems to have already attracted a following based on other times we've driven by. Nice addition to the Central Park area.

Good beer. Friendly service. Pleasant atmosphere with view onto street and surrounding buildings in downtown Durham. Convenient location next to Durham Food Hall where we picked up some pizza and samosas.

Great beers but 8 screaming kiss's in such a small space ruined the experience... Since when are small kids allowed in a bar / brewery?

I discovered The Glass Jug when they opened their bottle shop in Durham back in 2014. Since then, they've started their own brewing operation and this new taproom is a fantastic venue to showcase all the great beer they brew. It's a great place to grab a pint after a Saturday farmers market right outside the taproom, or bring a meal over from the food hall across the street. I'll post up here to finish a workday as well. Overall, love this place. It's such a great addition to the downtown Durham area.
