The food tasted really good, when we came in at 7 at night today. I had a great time with my group of loved ones. It was nice to share the time with them in the atmosphere, it wasn't actually a bad vibe. There was some soft music going on which made it perfect for conversations. Haha, the thing is that I don't eat gluten or carbs, but there were still many things I shared with others in my table and feel photo. Although the bill for the four of us came out to be really expensive, but I would consider it worth it.My sister really enjoyed the meals and especially the ravioli, she had what we joked as "foodgasm" haha. I would say people there really dress up fancy, but we came in with our t shirts. And the waiter that we have to serve us was such an excellent guy, and they helped us wipe away the mess when our cousin Andrew had his water spilled on the floor.

The George is a modern american restaurant inside the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in downtown Seattle. The restaurant is a short walk from downtown Seattle Theatres (5th, Paramount, ACT). Parking nearby is limited to expensive downtown lots. The menu selection is not that great. The range of dishes isn't huge and I don't really see any appetizers that appeal to me. Food quality is good but not great, certainly not justifying the pricey menu costs. On one visit I had the roasted chicken (which was quite good) and my wife had the Scallops (also good).Service was prompt, friendly and helpful. Generally not recommended. Decent not amazing food, at high costs.

Fantastic vibe, friendly service and over-priced, bad food. Went there with a party of 10 to celebrate a birthday. Ordered the oysters, crudo, chicken and protein of the day, lamb. The oysters were oysters. They were shucked well, clean, but nothing special. 6 for $24 feels expensive for what I've tried, given that some places do $1-$2 oysters at set times for equally as good and/or flavors. The crudo was bad. Period. The dish was one-dimensional, fat on fat. There was no acidity, just large chunk of tuna, which I love, and a lot of olive oil. Fatty, oily, and really not good. Maybe the single-worst raw fish dish that I've had. The chicken was over-cooked and dry. The lamb was genuinely good. I would certainly come back for the lamb if it were on the menu, because it was cool to a great medium-rare temperature, had a slightly lamb flavor and a good balance of spices. Very good. I tried the carbonara and the Ravioli. Both were good. Both had rich sauces, mild flavors and were good. I wish the pasta on the carbonara was more al dente, but it wasn't bad. We were brought a cake for the birthday; however, the person celebrating the birthday had a gluten allergy so they brought out a sorbet. We were charged for both, which added another $30 onto the bill. Again, the George has an incredible aesthetic and the servers were friendly. The food just wasn't good and on top of that it was expensive. I probably won't be back, unless it's for drinks. I'd pass.

At premium price in good ambience they serve Overpriced incorrectly prepared food.We git the three course brunch in a large group and sampled quite a few dishes and the best part of meal were the scones with honey butter but went downhill from thereThe agua chile lacked enough acidity and the agua (it needs more broth). The benedicts were just a train wreck..the hollandaise was split...I have pics to prove it...and no it wasnt just me. We had three benedicts with one having hollandaise on side ....all of them SPLIT.The biscuit was not toasted well. The eggs were poached well and the crab was decent. This left a sour or i should say split fatty buttery taste in my mouth. They missed adding pimenton as the menu said...the pics i added pepper instead. The only reason i did not send the food back is because I was part of group and we wanted to not get entangled in wasting so much foodI think underneath all the ambience, good service and high prices the restaurant lost the key thing....good taste...atleast when we dined in

Disappointed with this place for dinner. The space is gorgeous and I wanted to love it, but the food was overpriced and not very good.We ordered the ravioli, carbonara, cod, and nori bread. The bread was my favourite part -- the texture was very fresh, crunchy on the outside, soft inside, and it takes like the little packs of seaweed snacks -- unique and tasty if you like nori! The pastas were both very heavy, the ravioli plate was full of butter, and felt greasy, and the carbonara was heavy as is, but also had pieces of pork belly that were the only source of flavour, but too fatty to enjoy with the dish. The cod is the plate we had issue with: the member of our party requested that the barley doesn't include chorizo (for religious reasons), which the waiter said was fine, but there were still pieces of it in the dish when it arrived. The server was very nice about handling the issue and mistakes do happen, but this was an unfortunate way to end our meal. Expensive for the quality of food.

What a wonderful place for a meal! We celebrated Thanksgiving at The George. We started early with drink in the hotel lobby (Olympic Fairmont). Such a cozy and chill.place for drinks. Service was excellent! Our Thanksgiving dinner was one wonderful.course after another. Portions were smaller but just the perfect amount. The dessert, pumpkin pies we ended up taking most to go. Service in the restaurant was excellent!Salad - very tasty kale salad with pears. Soup - Pumpkin/ Summer Squash. Main - turkey with stuffing. Sides - mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. Dessert - pumpkin pie. All very tasty. Family Style and great presentations. The restaurant has very interesting details. Adds to the great atmosphere. A bit noisy, but restaurant now days has good acoustics? The hotel is very charming and it was all decorated for the holidays.Highly recommend having dinner at The George. Valet parking was very easy!

We ended up here for a birthday celebration, and the atmosphere at this place is indeed very appropriate for a special occasion or an elevated date night. The George's Art Deco inspired interior is quite easy on the eyes, and somewhat reminiscent of NYC's Eleven Madison Park (those windows and stone filigree would do it for you).Food and service, unfortunately, were a bit hit or miss despite a price tag that stated "we are fine dining". For a finer food experience, I'd opt for other Seattle locations (including Charlotte, another restaurant embedded in a hotel), but The George is definitely up there on the "festive and good looking" scale. We still had a pretty good time, and the caramel apple spice cake to wrap up the evening was quite enjoyable. All in all, I would come back to try their brunch or for a glass of wine in an elegant setting, or to finally sneak into the Founders club (the speakeasy well-hidden behind a bookcase).

I recently dined at The George restaurant located in the Fairmount Hotel in Seattle, and it was truly an exquisite experience.Let's start with the mixed drinks - they were absolutely delightful. The bartender's expertise was evident in every sip. I highly recommend trying their signature cocktails; they were perfectly balanced and showcased unique flavors that complemented the meal beautifully. The only down side was that it took over an hour to get our first round of drinks for a table of 5. Now, onto the main course - the steak frites. The steak was cooked to perfection, with a mouthwatering sear on the outside and a juicy, tender interior. The accompanying frites were crispy and seasoned just right, making for an ideal pairing with the steak. It was a dish that left my taste buds dancing with delight. We enjoyed the frites so much we got an extra side of it to share! The more disappointing meat dish we had was the lamb, it could have been more tender. The lamb was too chewy for our liking. Would not recommend it. To cap off the meal, The George provided a delightful surprise - a firework birthday candle on a dessert! This added a touch of magic to the evening. The candle not only looked stunning but also brought a sense of celebration to the table, making it a memorable dining experience for a special occasion.

A+ experience! Hostess was super friendly, as were the servers. Ambiance is GORGEOUS. The dungeness crab eggs benedict was to die for, best I've ever had. Perfectly poached eggs, legit hollandaise sauce, and a generous portion of quality crab meat. Loved it!

Firstly, this restaurant is so beautiful. It is located on the left side of the Fairmont Olympic lobby. The George is bright and elegant and I always enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant. You can really tell how much thought and detail went into the renovation of this restaurant. My fiancé and I have been to the George several times, as Fairmont is our favorite hotel in Seattle for a staycation or special event. They recently changed up their menu slightly, so we each got something new this visit. We started with a bowl of pea soup and nori sourdough bread (not pictured). The bread and butter is so fresh and the pea soup was a unique combination of so many awesome flavors. My partner enjoyed his salmon, but wasn't the best he has ever had. I tried the mushroom ricotta cheese ravioli which was delicious. I just wouldn't recommend it if you are not a huge mushroom fan. Lastly, for dessert we had the cherry chocolate cake that came with a fun outer chocolate shell that we had to crack open with a spoon. Very decadent and that cherry flavor really came through well. The George is a restaurant we can count on to always deliver flavorful and fresh dishes. It's not the most outstanding meal we have ever had, but definitely good enough to keep coming back :)
