The Garden Company

This is the second time my family has dined here while on a road trip to San Antonio--and there is a reason we returned. Above all, I appreciate the concept. The restaurant combines delicious eats with a healthy setting (an outside garden is so well-kept and gives the restaurant beautiful greenery) and a versatile menu that offers both vegetarian and kid-friendly meals. The food itself is overall good. The stars of the show are definitely the appetizers (specifically the crispy Brussels sprouts and grilled portobello mushroom), but the mains are also great. There was no bad dish, although I did not particularly enjoy the mushroom Asiago pizza. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and patient. I truly have no complaints. Definitely a worthy pit stop if ever at Schulenburg!

Great vibe and food for sure. We had the chicken bites which are wrapped in bacon and the mini tacos. Both are great. Had the opportunity to try the turkey sandwich and fire pizza (Italian one). Definitely my recommendation.The service we had was A plus for sure. The waitress kept coming to check on us and made sure we needed nothing. If you are in the area do yourself a favor and stop in and get the pizza. I'll definitely be back to try the dinner menu and see what it has to offer.

This place is a must stop if you're going towards San Antonio from Houston. It definitely was a highlight on my trip. They have a pretty garden outside with several cats that are friendly. We got here about 15 minutes before they opened, but they still sat us. Now the food... The Greek salad was not only humongous, but it was also delicious. I'm also super picky about chicken and theirs was seasoned just right. Super cool place overall.

So, so good!! Great service! Great food! Cute old house atmosphere! Definitely worth a stop off the highway! Just wish I had been heading home so I could have shopped at the nursery in the back!

The food was tasty and the atmosphere was so great! Bring your dogs outside or enjoy the cool interior. They have a cute gift shop with seasonal decorations outside. You can have your own mini pumpkin patch photo shoot right now. The desserts and brussel sprouts were to die for, I would come for just those. They have cute plants for sale as well as some fun Texas themed gifts to purchase.

Came to town for a weekend visit from Houston and found this gem. The interior section where was restaurant is is very much that of an old country house. You could tell everyone around us was enjoying themselves. The food was great and service was impeccable. We definitely felt very welcomed here. The chicken fried steak is excellent and you cannot go wrong with any of the desserts. On top of all that, they have a cool garden out back which our family definitely enjoyed walking through, despite the good ol' Texas heat. A very neat experience away from the city.

From the moment you arrive, The Garden Co lives up to its name. The decorations are so unique, especially the lights. I chose the Pom Prosecco to begin our lunch, grapefruit and pomegranate - yum! The Brie & Riesling Fruit Chutney was amazing. I had to try the Brussel Sprouts and am so glad we did. The special was fish and we weren't disappointed in this choice! Our server was efficient and took no notes but got our order correct.

The Garden Company was a GREAT stop on the way back to Houston from San Antonio. Brussels sprouts are my favorite food and theirs were top notch! I had them as my meal and then had my favorite dessert (bread pudding) which was also to die for. Since we arrived for a late lunch close to closing time we asked if we could walk through the nursery/shop while we waited for our food. The friendly staff said, "of course!" so we got a quick perusal in before our waitress found us to say our food was ready. Overall a beautiful place with great food and plants to shop for!

Although there kitchen was coming to a close, they kindly seated us and got our orders right away before the kitchen closed.Very friendly, very accommodating, and very caring to make sure we had a great experience :) I got the farm burger and was surely delicious!!! Each ingredient was tasty tasty and seasoned well. Also loved the fries. The fattyness and juice from the party and the other ingredients was fantastic

My son and I had lunch at The Garden Co Cafe. Overall the food was very good. We ordered:Crispy Brussel Sprouts Grilled Portobello Mushrooms. Fungi BurgerMushroom Asiago PizzaOur favorites were the Brussel Sprouts and the Fungi Burger. I liked the Grilled Portobello Mushrooms, but it was more of a salad. Service was great. We will definitely be back.
