Great selection of oysters on the menu. I believe they had seven varieties starting with the house option from the gulf, then getting closer to here with a few North Carolina and Virginia varieties, then some from the northeast and Canada. The shucker knew what he was doing and was attentive and quick. Reasonably priced. Surprisingly, my favorite was the Cedar Island Selects from NC and not the smaller Canadian ones that I usually prefer. Great flavor. The indoor bar was great, but they also offered outdoor seating. They have an extensive cooked food and cocktail menu that I didn't sample from, but all of the food I saw coming out of the kitchen looked great. This is a local-ish small chain and I hope they keep expanding. Great concept.I will be back next time I'm in NC.

This was the first restaurant at which I dined on my first day in Cary, NC. This exceptionally outstanding restaurant was also the second one where I dined out here in my new town of residence. I cannot brag about them enough. Both visits I found the food to be over the top yummy. They serve an unusual potato side and coleslaw that are mouth watering. They have a choice of various oysters and served, raw, baked, fried, grilled, or char-grilled. I look forward to trying each. Also had the grilled scallops as well as the char-grilled oysters , this time and fried the first visit. omg so good. I hope the char-grilled scallops sre available next time.I found the regularly grilled oysters very tasty! My guest had crabcakes which she did not finish but don't know whether she didn't enjoy or there was just more crab cake than she could eat bc there were two extra large ones served as a pair. The restaurant decor is very artsy and interesting featuring anything and everything associated with the sea. Don't forget to take photos. You may want to enlarge and frame if that's your thing! Kudos to Ian from my first visit and Tai from my $5 mimosa Sunday visit! First visit Ian provided supreme service to my self and two local guests. and I was the first timer. That couple pointed out Full Moon Oyster Bar was one of their favorites and they were loyal customers. Now I am too.The ambience is so enjoyable. The decor and bar style seating is perfect and being able to see into the kitchen was reassuring bc you could enjoy watching the skill and concentration of the chefs/ cooks. My second visit was not on the same level as the first in excellence but still pleasant. Be sure to check your bill as I was charged for a drink I did not like even though I had the server take it back and replace it with a different choice. I just chose the wrong $5 Sunday mimosa for myself, off of a fun menu with several specialty mimosa choices! Both visits I really enjoyed the Full Moon draft IPA in the frosty beer glass. Please do not overlook what must be one of the best seafood restaurants in town! I would be remiss if I not add a comment about the artsy decor fit for photos as there is an eclectic collection of anything associated with the sea, skillfully curated to assure a perfect ambience. You will not regret your choice. Go!!!! And take your family and friends!

My first experience at this restaurant was about a month ago. My daughter took me there for my birthday. We had a fabulous time! The food was great. The service was just as good.During my recent visit... Not the sameAs you may know about the full moon oyster bar, everything is in a horseshoe shape with your server working from the center. There was one large party at one side of the horseshoe shape, and they probably received 95% of his attention. We had to ask for everything we needed to get his attention. He forgot most of the little starter side dishes until we asked and I have to say, the service was marginal at best. When the big party cleared out, he repeated the behavior to another party and ignored us again! the person I was with and I called him for everything we needed. At some point, he actually brought us one drink on the house and acknowledged he had been ignoring us, but not intentionally. Didn't change my opinion. Also, that night the oysters were from Louisiana, warm water, they were bigger than sliders and belonged on a bun. They were absolutely awful. I choked one down and would not eat the other half of my dozen.I will likely return again because the first experience was so good but I will tell you this, I'll be on the lookout for that server and will avoid that dude like the plague! Also, if Louisiana oysters are the only thing being served, I'll take my business somewhere else

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Full Moon Oysters and I must say, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked in, the service was phenomenal. The server Ty was attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, making excellent recommendations that truly enhanced my dining experience. The whole staff seems to have an inviting family community between each other! The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the oysters. They were some of the best I've ever had--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly shucked. Each bite was a testament to the quality and care that Full Moon Oyster puts into sourcing their seafood. The oysters were served with a variety of accompaniments that complemented their natural brininess, making every bite a delight. In addition to the outstanding food, the ambiance was perfect for a relaxing and enjoyable evening. Overall, Full Moon Oyster exceeded all my expectations. The combination of extraordinary oysters and top-notch service makes it a must-visit for any seafood lover. I can't wait to return and indulge in more of their delicious offerings.

I'm not from here, so I've never seen a restaurant with all bar seating, but I loved it! Let's you get more personal with the employees. Who by the way are absolutely fun and great to banter with. Anywho, on to the food!! It was all you can eat crab night but my gf and I were definitely in for the oysters so we got the 3lb plate. It was more than enough! I really wanted to try other things but knew my tummy wouldn't have ever let me. The coleslaw and the potatoes are BOMB! We also got the salted caramel cheesecake to go. Don't sleep on their desserts. I can't wait to come back into town and eat here again!

Friendly servers and atmosphere at Full Moon. I was craving oysters and stopped in for a bite. The selection of oysters was varied: Canada, New England and more. Sadly the oysters were on the small side, which made the price ($2+) price unreasonable. The designated shucker did a great job opening the oysters without losing the juice. Others, not so much. Upside, you get a small portion of potatoes and coleslaw on the side.

We were disappointed that 1) they didn't have lobster bisque daily anymore and 2) there are no longer substitutions with the Full Moon. Honestly, I almost left; however, I do love seafood. Given those two reasons I've got to say that we most likely will not be returning. Just not the good fun loving spot I fondly remember.

First time trying chargrilled oysters, I enjoyed them but my bf said they weren't as good as the ones he had in NOLA lol. Mooners fry basket was fried a little too hard for my liking but there's nothing a little hot sauce can't fix! It's a pretty tight fit in there, with bar style seating. Servers and bartenders were nice, food came out quickly.

Came back a second time. The staff was some of the same people, so just as friendly. This time I got a few oysters and the crab dip. YES! Get this. The bread was buttery and delicious. I couldn't recommend a better spot for Mondays. My friend had the seafood risotto and said it was amazing- so that will be my choice next time.

We dined in for lunch on the weekend and had a good experience, it was a good spot to watch football. To start we had a round of drinks (mimosas are $5 for a little Sunday funday action) and the crab dip. For food it was an order of the king crab legs that my mom and I split, and the jambalaya for my husband. It is expensive but it was delicious.
