The French Fry House

This used to be a staple in Houston, but unfortunately it has gone down hill. I called in my order (Alfredo fries and chicken boudin) in which I made the payment over the phone (totally expected), and the young lady asked if I wanted to tip, in which I asked if I could tip once I picked my food up (normal practice), she laughed and said yeah with cash. We picked up my food and added 2 lemonades and a Red Koolaid. The chicken in the Alfredo fries did not have any seasoning, the lemonade nor Koolaid was homemade (to be charging 3.75 per drink), and the food was cold. The young lady at the window didn't have any type of customer service although she was tipped $5 for a call in order. She didn't offer me a receipt, and she had an attitude when I asked for an additional fork. Please save yourself the money and go somewhere else!

Ambiance is grim, it's a muddy outdoor space with picnic tables. We were initially planning to eat here but we took everything to go. Service was fine once I got the attention of the staff thru the closed ordering window. Ordered three things, Philly Cheese Fries, Bayou Fries (kind of a take on etouffe) and some plain fries for my 6 year old. The Philly was pretty good, but my wife just ended up tossing the etouffe. She loves etouffe but this dish wasn't even tasty. The plain fries were good for my 6 year old but trying them myself I kind of realize that the fries are the same as you could get anywhere.

I can't believe that I've been here so many times and never left a review! The French Fry House is an eastside staple. Loaded fries done right.The fries are kinda perfect. A balance of firm enough to hold up to the bevy of toppings, and still able to bend and be shoved in your mouth. It actually is rocket science and they've figured it out. I've had the Big Tex, the lemon pepper, the boudin eggrolls, and everything has been amazing. What I love the most, is that the fries aren't mealy the next day. I can pop my food in the toaster oven and they are still good! Errybody can't say that.

This place never disappoints. It's always a great feeling when the quality of your favorite place is consistent. Haven't been here in over a year and I'm glad to know they are still dishing out very good food. There is nothing bad I can say about this place.

OMG !!!!! The food is here is soooooooo good !!!!! I go almost everyday lol I have never been unsatisfied with my food from here. Everything is fresh and piping hot every time I order.

The food is really great. The owner Chef Chop is pretty cool. Last time I went there were complimentary games out. Nice place to grab a bite and hang for a little bit. My bestfriend loves the seafood egg rolls.

I've lose track how many times I've been here + I seldomly post reviews about establishments, but The French Fry House?! Amazing!!! I have never left the place unsatisfied. The food is great!! Highly recommend for anyone.Lemon Pepper Chicken is my personal favorite.

The best fries in Houston without a doubt! I highly recommend it to anyone! They provide great service and the food comes out on time. Don't sleep on them!

They deserve one star not even a 1 star ...first off we get there we had to wait so long just so someone could take our order ..had to wait til like 20 mins to order then it took so long for our order to come out just for the food to be cold & fries were so hard wouldn't recommend to no one ! So disappointing!
