My wife and parents-in-law chose to use the Food Fairy to cater our wedding in Pittsboro, NC (June 2016). I had gone on a spearfishing trip to Baja and caught a bunch of yellowtail to serve at the wedding. She served it seared, on a stick, with watermelon and basil. It was incredibly creative, made an amazing presentation and was mouth-watering good. I have high standards and especially with fish. The other dishes were all amazing and we still talk about them today. Aside from the top-notch quality, Terri was very responsive in communications and her whole staff is a pleasure to be with. I'd highly recommend her and look forward to having an opportunity to work with her again in future. Terri, thank you so much for our Food Fairy wand/stirring spoon. To this day it's one of our favorite kitchen utensils.

The Food Fairy and her crew catered our wedding at my parent's home in June 2016. Everything was orchestrated perfectly and the food was divine! I would highly recommend her to anyone for any occasion.

Wow, The Food Fairy is simply just a breath of fresh air. What is The Food Fairy you ask? A caterer? No. A personal chef? No. The Food Fairy is far more than that. The Food Fairy did my wedding rehearsal dinner and went well beyond that of a caterer and personal chef.Terri, the founder and owner of the Food Fairy listened to what my fiancee and i thought we wanted, and made suggestions for food, a signature cocktail, and was able to accommodate our gluten free and vegetarian guests with more than your standard grilled veggies. She worked with us to craft a menu that represented the a fusion of our two separate tastes- for my fiancee, an avid shrimp enthusiast and meatball maniac, we had a deconstructed shrimp cocktail, and Parmesan meatballs with a "once in a lifetime sauce." For me, a dumpling evangelist and lover of all cheese the Food Fairy prepared seared pork and scallion dumplings and a cheese cake! No, I don't mean your standard cake, I mean throw out your idea of a cheese plate, and instead construct what appears to be a cake out of wheels of cheese. And that only names a few of the 16 delicious items that were served on our special day.If you want food that is prepared with a passion and respect for ingredients, that runs the gamut of cuisines and flavor profiles, and is prepared with a great attention not only to detail, but also to the larger cohesive meal and guest experience, then you need The Food Fairy in your life.

I cannot say enough good things about Terri, the Food Fairy. I also cannot say enough good things about the mind-blowingly delicious food she presented at my wedding two weeks ago. Terri truly went above and beyond to craft a menu that was reflective of our personalities and tastes. Balancing my needs as a pescatarian with his cravings for red meat was no easy task. Add to that my southern roots and his Cuban culture and you could have a real mess! No such thing occurred, though. The appetizers and dinner presented were like a work of art - variations on a theme. We received many compliments on the food from our guests. Terri and her team created mouth-watering dishes and presented them gorgeously. Who could ask for more?

I was shopping around for a personal chef who could cook up a dinner for 2. My fiance and I are eloping. She got back to me a bit late, but that's par for the course. She didn't, however, list her prices. Only that she was sorry for getting back to me so late. I decided to call her for a consultation.Everything was going smoothly and I was very excited. She told me she was cooking at the moment, but she wanted to make an appointment. We set up an appointment to talk in length, and she tells me that I would need to call her at the time we specified or "she'll try to remember".Then, as an afterthought she asks, "So what is your budget?" I answered her honestly, "Well, the top of my budget is about $400" then I was worried the might think I was crazy for paying that much, so I told her about the other chef I talked to who quoted me $200.She laughed AT ME in a very nasty way and then said, "We shouldn't even be talking then". I was so shocked, I was like, "....okay....?" and she goes, "I mean, what is that, like, a $150 profit? No, that's not okay with me" and laughed again. My jaw was on the floor. If you don't list your prices, then how can you be surprised that someone doesn't know your prices? Snobby. I would have preferred a simple, "Oops, sorry, my prices are outside of your range," which is normal to hear when you are shopping around for vendors. I thanked her for speaking with me and then hung up.There are a ton of kind, honest vendors in the High Country area who have only treated me with the utmost professionalism. Terri was, fortunately, the only person who treated me with such obvious disdain.I'm sure Terri's food is lovely, but her demeanor wasn't. Middle class brides who are paying for their own nuptials out of pocket should avoid her classist 'tude.

I recently attended a wedding picnic catered by The Food Fairy, and, let me tell you, it doesn't get more fantastic than this! Of course, the food was out-of-this-world as you should expect when hiring a professional caterer, however what makes The Food Fairy stand out is their incredibly friendly staff who stay on top of things while still being incredibly friendly. The Food Fairy was there on-time and their staff "catered "(pun intended) to the needs of all the attendees while still finding the time to smile and share in pleasant conversation. The Food Fairy is an exemplary service offering excellent food and outstanding customer service. I give them my highest recommendation!

I have used the Food Fairy chefs for catering parties, for creating custom meals for many different dietary restrictions, and for meals when I am too busy to cook. They are excellent chefs as well as nice, caring people who are enjoyable to have in your home. My friends were amazed at how delicious the food was. I was especially impressed at how creative Terri can be in recreating favorite foods when many of the key ingredients were off limits because of dietary restrictions. Her vegan dishes are so good no one would even notice there was no meat in the meal.

Food Fairy has been a real help getting food for my elderly parents. Both have special dietary needs, and the Food Fairy folks know how to accommodate these needs completely, no matter the issue. And the food is amazing--very high quality, tasty, and all packaged / labelled for easy, delicious meals. This service has made all the difference to me and my folks. Good value service and nice folks as well.
