A great Irish pub with good food We tried the smoked salmon from the appetizer menu and the lamb Shepards pie. Both very good and large portions !(Glad we were sitting in a quiet area - this place gets loud !)Adding some pics from a second stop also

Myself, my daughter, and my bestie came in for lunch yesterday, and it was so good! The service was super fast and very friendly. The dining room/bar area was so authentic I felt like I was back in Ireland (where I lived for 2 years). The food was amazing and the portions were huge. I have nothing but praise for our lunch, and if I ever return to Boston will seek out the Dubliner again.

I just got an alert from my credit card company that I left an 80% tip at this place. Apparently, someone on staff decided to help themselves to some extra money. I was going to give the business the benefit of the doubt until I saw that the owner has some anger management issues and leaves petty feedback on negative reviews. My guess is they keep reviews artificially high by disputing every low rating they get.If you go to The Dubliner, make sure to check your credit card statement after.

When you're married to a Kennedy, you'll end up some night at an Irish place and this trip.... The Dubliner fit the bill. You walk in and immediately feel you're in Dublin. Every voice, every server and yes the Guinness pour is perfect. Started with Irish pigs in a blanket and Scotch eggs (fave) and split the Guinness beef stew. Just the right amount and great. So, great Irish atmosphere, fantastic service and true Irish food. 3 for 3!

As you expected, there are plenty of dark wood, lots of sporting banners and TVs. You can watch your European soccer games on multiple TV screens while enjoying pint of Guinness or many be some Irish whiskey. On game nights this place is popping, getting crowded and very loud. So be prepare for that. Food menu is way above average. Just letting you know that they make fish and chips the way they make it in the motherland. Big side of fish and mushy peas and tartar sauce. YUM!We ordered burger, chicken curry and Scotch eggs, all prepared wonderfully, and tasted fabulous. Service was attentive, our waitress was checking on us regularly. All and all this is a gold medal pub/eatery in downtown Boston. Thank you for great service guys!...

For an Irish pub, the quality of food was James Beard worthy. Everything was cooked to absolute perfection with incredible depth of flavor. Even the scotch egg, which 9 times out of 10 is overcooked was perfect. Service was attentive and friendly. The vibes inside were very cozy, even with it being such a large space. Highly recommend it, now Joe ranks amongst my favorite Irish spots in town.

Best pub in Boston hands down for all around drinks and food and atmosphere. Feels like a true upscale premium pub and very authentic. The draught and whiskey selection is vast and the Sunday roast and scotch eggs are superb.

On a Sunday noon, I went to The Dubliner, determined to have a Sunday roast and pretend to be in the British Isles. Because the establishment aired a soccer game, it had few seats available; I managed to get a small table not facing any sportsball screens. To share with a friend, I ordered the scotch egg ($8) and the Shepard's pie ($18). For myself, I ordered the Sunday roast ($28).The scotch egg arrived with a jammy, softboiled yolk. The accompanying sauce, at first glance, looked savory. However, it turned out slightly sweet, with a flavor resembling applesauce, albeit without the American insistence on turning it into a one-way-ticket to diabetes. The Shepard's pie proved savory, homely, and irresistible. The mashed potatoes - slightly crisped on the surface but fluffy otherwise, provided texture contrast. The lamb filling, while savory, did not seem heavy or gamey. The Sunday roast arrived with slices of roast beef, cabbage, carrots, potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, and gravy. The cabbage and carrots had sat a bit and cooled, unfortunately. Otherwise, the dish proved delicious. The gravy had noticeable amounts of Worcestershire sauce, granting complexity and depth without compromising on the savoriness. The roast potatoes, with the crispy outer crust and fluffy interior, looked straight out of a Serious Eats / Kenji Lopez-Alt recipe. The horseradish cream, less strong than straight horseradish, had its flavor tuned almost perfectly to be smeared on the roast with a butter knife.

Having recently returned home from Ireland, this was such a welcome place to grab dinner on a quick getaway! The atmosphere was spot on authentic and we arrived during a trad session that just melted my Irish-loving heart.5 stars for the whiskey selection! The food menu is fresh and authentic; my only request would've been for more salt in my seafood chowder and Guinness & beef pie. Speaking of Guinness, the pours are perfect. If you're a Guinness connoisseur, you know what I'm talking about. Our server couldn't have been nicer, and everyone who interacted with us at our table was very personable. I can't wait to come back here and officially make it my local.
