The Dominican Restaurant

This place is a gem. Stopped for breakfast. Service was excellent. Super Friendly. Love hearing the Latin music blaring from the speakers as you walk up. Nice seating area outside. For breakfast we had a cup of Cafe Con leche. It's the best coffee I've had in a long time. Sweet and creamy. Mangu 3 Golpes was two fried/poached eggs, mofongo, fried cheese and sausage. Super yummy. Also has a glass of Guava juice. Omg it was delicious. the Empanadas was good too! Will definitely be back for lunch or dinner very soon! Check 'em out!

The service is poor. The servers think by flirting and being dolled up makes up for waiting an hour for food and drinks. As a Dominican myself I mention some island drinks or food that are widely known from the island and they look at me with 3 heads. There is no bartender there is only a random person making drinks which seems like he perfected the mojitos. I suggest going somewhere else where they know what they are doing and get authentic Dominican food.

Empanadas are the best! Staff was very friendly. Not very expensive. Try their passion fruit juice. I would advice to double check your order if you are planning to take it to go.

Great food but man this has got to be the loudest restaurant I've ever been in. Could barely hear myself think.

I called in and ordered one item for pick up. Ladies on the phone were rude and short with me. When I arrived my order was incorrect so I waited... I proceeded to get my order wrong again. Once I got the correct order the food was pretty good but all of the events leading up to the meal was really disappointing. The service was terrible, they acted like they just did not care at all. :(

I drove into Raleigh from Miami and wanted some authentic Dominican cuisine and what better place to satisfy my taste buds then here at The Dominican Restaurant. As soon as you walk in you're politely greeted and then a display of some of the finest Dominican dishes you can expect. I had the rice and red beans, chicken, salad and tostones and washed it down with a cold Modelo. What makes The Dominican Restaurant unique is its embrace of Latin culture. There's rhythmic Latin music that plays on the outside dining area under a canopy covered courtyard. They also have evening entertainment so after eating you can dance to a mixture of salsa, bachata and merengue... I will definitely be back... I would have posted a better image of my food but y'all I was hungry and it was good AF - next time I promise.

The food was as good if not better than the food I had in Puerto Rico. The service was great especially knowing how long our order takes to make we didn't expect it instantly. And the music made me feel like I was back in the tropics! My grandson couldn't stop dancing at the table. At the end we were so stuffed and there was enough food there for another meal.

I miss the liveliness of Dominican restaurants back in NYC and on the island. Domino playing outside, live loud music, hookah- everything transported me back home! I didn't mind the wait for the food because they make it restaurant fresh. Same like waiting at any other popular restaurant. Fav place!

Lack of flavor. The chivo was tough! The salad was lacking flavor. Huge disappointment since I love Caribbean food.

Food was okay not the best, soggy bread, not high quality, etc. Service was poor we had to wait 45 minutes for our food only ordering 4 meals and the waiter wouldn't give us a refill for a while. The worst part they charged 10$ just to sit and eat there????? Not to mention people working outside with saws and drills making tables right next to where we were sitting. 2/10 would not ever go again.
