Whatever you look for in a local pub, The Cove is it. Great place to have a drink or two, watch a game, and chill. Groovy atmosphere, friendly local folks, cold drinks, and good music.

Quaint, off the beaten path, location. Very friendly employees and local residents. The beer is excellent! You can order food a couple doors down, at the Mexican restaurant, and eat it inside the Cove.

Good variety of beers. Loved the chill atmosphere. Fun game area in the back. Only thing there are lots of mosquitoes if you are prone to getting bitten... but they provided bug spray :) Would definitely go back!

The Cove (on Hamblen) Craft Beer and Wine, is a hidden gem in Kingwood, TX. Outside of a town smothered with bad beer choices, this place is a well needed, and appreciated, solution for lovely afternoons, happy hour visits, working remotely, and watching, or playing, a game. I took a day drip with a friend and happened upon this place. I was impressed. The new space has been put together with thoughtful updates. The space is flood ready, so you know you can come back from year-to-year. ;) There are well positioned large screen TVs, but the sports aren't up-in-your face. You can jam to Phish or Canned Heat playing from the speakers while you watch a group play yard games or catch up on emails from the patio. Major bonus! This place has several taps of delicious craft beer. The bartenders are knowledgeable. Miller Lite drinkers are safe, The Cove has recommendations for you. Stout, IPA, and wine drinkers are also safe... The Cove has what you're looking for. Added bonus... Charging outlets and bag hooks circle the bar and purse hooks are on every table. Coming soon! We talked with the bar manager, Daniel, and found out there's a small group meeting space with large monitors to project presentations and the owner's are considering adding coffee and a permanent food truck to the mix.

This is a nice casual local watering hole serving lots of different beers on tap as well as some nice wines, either by the glass or bottle. They sometime have some snacks for sale but they don't mind if you order food from the Mexican restaurant next door and eat it while enjoying your beverages.

I'm sure this will be deleted because the bartender (grey hair, maybe was the manager) we spoke with was someone who obviously can't handle being questioned about a potential mistake but I'm writing it anyway. I originally interacted with the female bartender with dark, short hair tonight and asked for a glass of red wine. Which she gave me. I nursed the glass all night and when we went to pay we were charged for the whole bottle (which was already open when she poured me ONE regulation sized glass even though they will deny it). When I asked the other bartender if we were mistakenly charged for the whole bottle he said it only comes by the bottle. At no point were we told it was only by the bottle plus it wasn't even full to begin with! I tried to explain to him nicely (at first) and he lost it. The original bartender had already left for the night so I couldn't even pull her into the conversation. Furthermore, I don't hold any ill will towards her as this was most likely a miscommunication to begin with. NOTE: Before I go on, I will be honest and say that she did place the bottle in front of me after pouring. I should have asked why right away but I have had other places do that when they are showing you what you are drinking and I never thought someone would blow up at me for not realizing it came only by the bottle. And since it was open already I didn't really give it a second thought. I probably would have let it go if he hadn't immediately gone on the defense when I questioned him and implied I was lying. Also I never accused anyone of serving an open bottle on purpose, I merely pointed out that it was halfway full which doesn't happen if you pour one glass. Back to the incident. Basically he cut me off, said he didn't disagree with me but his employees would never serve an opened bottle, and yelled "BYE" loudly in my face multiple times in a row. Before he started only yelling the word "BYE" I said he obviously did disagree with me because he was implying that I was a liar. My boyfriend kept trying to explain and he would cut him off. I admit at that point I lost my temper which I regret because stooping to his level accomplished nothing and only gives him fuel to make it sound like I was a hysterical female from the get go. But seriously, if we wanted to skip out on the bill altogether we would have protested the three beers my boyfriend got as well. But we didn't. This interaction made no sense to me and he was the rudest person I've ever encountered in customer service. I am honestly so confused about what happened tonight. Also, we had already paid our full bill when I asked if we got charged for the whole bottle. I realize that there are misunderstandings, but this was just bizarre. He also put his hand in my face while I was talking like I'm an idiot woman and took the bottle away from me during his tantrum so I didn't even get what he made us pay for. He screeched like a banshee that he will "just comp the entire bill then" which wasn't necessary (like I said, we had already paid and I was just questioning the bottle charge) but if wants to lose money that's his prerogative. Now that I've written this out I take back my regrets about getting angry at him. I have never yelled at someone in the food service industry in my life but he freaking deserved it. FFS.
