I cannot give enough stars. This place is quaint, amazingly thoughtful, kind to young customers, gives a generous pour - and oh, their food is amazing. It's truly a little gem in an unsuspecting place. Seriously, they could not be nicer to our family every time we are there. It's a bright spot in our week! Sweet potato fries are legit as are the fried shrimp. One of the best burgers you'll eat!

What a gem out in the country. Chicken Fried Ribeye is amazing. Started with Shrimp Remoulade which was one of the best I have ever had. Sangria was fresh and home made. What a special place!

Quaint, low key vibe, and delicious. The fried chicken sandwich was so yummy. The staff and the chef are so nice and hospitable.

Excellent food! Our party of five had the chicken fried steak, fried shrimp platter, chicken fried chicken, burger, BLT and Dr. Pepper cake. ALL of it was delicious! The service was great. Lovely people running the restaurant.

We found an amazing hidden gem!!Charlie and David were so warm and welcoming. The food was amazing !!!!! It is our new burger spot!!!Southern comfort at its finest! With low lighting so relaxing !!!!You have to try it!!!!!

This is a Hidden Gem. Located between Bellville and Hempstead on Hwy 159. You order at the counter with Charlie, who is adorable by the way. The food is made fresh and tastes fabulous. Started off with fried mushroom and fried green tomatoes. Both are served with homemade ranch dressing. My husband had the chicken fried ribeye and was in heaven. My daughter had the rib-eye salad and she enjoyed it immensely. I had the fried shrimp and they were delish. The portions are huge and I'm excited for my leftover lunch tomorrow. Dessert is a must. I had the peach cobbler and my hubby and daughter had the Dr Pepper cake. Both were served with ice cream. Rustic decor that is inviting. I can't recommend this place enough!!!

If you drive past this place without stopping, you're missing out. Food was exceptional with a wide variety. It's way above the typical small TX town diner and above most big city restaurants in terms of quality and variety. Completely unpretentious, it feels like eating at a friends house. There should be a line out the door. Salads were big and fresh. Desserts looked homemade and although we didn't try them, I'm sure they are to the same level as the food. Friendly service by the owner (Charlie and his wife) and old time general store ambiance will have us return. It will become a regular stop. Do yourself a favor a stop by. You won't regret it.

If you're driving by, stop! It'll be worth it. I had a huge wedge salad, which was delicious, and my husband had the chicken salad stuffed avocado. Everything is homemade. Charlie is the nicest guy you'll ever meet! It's such a homey, comfortable ambience, you don't want to leave! Loved it!

Had the ribeye chicken fried steak with fries and a salad and it was delicious ! Wife had the fried fish and it was very good ! Great friendly service and Charlie took good care of us ! Five stars!
