I was looking for a wine bar in Katy and hopped on the trusty Yelp app. The Cellar Door came up so I checked it out on a Sunday evening. Located in a shopping center, you won't have an issue finding parking. We were seated at a booth. The Cellar Door has your classic wine bar feel. I was initially impressed with their extensive wine list which also includes some Lebanese wines. Not something you see every day. We opted for a bottle of Malbec. We later tried some food too including their Alfredo pizza flatbread and ahi tuna appetizer. Both were great and the flatbread was a generous portion size (they have two sizes). Service was friendly and the owner even came by to chat with us. Nice guy. The crowd was a little on the older end and they had karaoke going on this evening. I'd definitely return!

Not what I expected. I came during prime time on Saturday night and the place was nearly empty. There was no live music, and no music at all. It was as quiet as a library. I think they shut off the air as well. All signs of a struggling business. The bartender was excellent and the ambience is still ok but walking into the restroom I was hit in the face with strong urine smell. It was absolutely disgusting. Maybe because the air was off but it seems to me that they just quit caring here or they need someone to come in and shake things up. I probably won't return again.

We go here monthly since we have a membership. We love the live music they have on occasion. The staff is always super amazing and are very knowledgeable on the wines they offer. We've never had a bad dish here. The wine tastings offered are also a great way to spend the evening. We've done about 5 of them. We love the ambiance and never rush to leave.

So, let me first say, this is not a review about their wines or the selections or the tastings (which are all great) - it's about their Father's Day dinner. I got to choose and after seeing the email sent out about their Father's Day dinner, I knew where we were going. So I got to go with my daughter, my son, my stepson and my daughter's fiancé.My wife unfortunately had a migraine headache and couldn't make it.We started with some small plates, or appetizers, that consisted of the beef empanadas, stuffed mushrooms, peppadew peppers (my favorite), and Tuscan herbed crostini's (new to the menu). These did not last long, but shortly after which, our main course arrived.The Meat Board - all meat served on a large cutting board. There was a 12oz ribeye and 6oz filet - cooked medium rare, and then there were the lamb lollipops and last, which is my wife's favorite, the seared Ahi tuna. We also had a bowl of the meatballs and sauce. Everything was devoured and we had to order additional small plates for the big appetites at the table. Had it not been for the characters I brought in, there would have been more than enough food for normal appetites. And my son (14) had one of the hamburgers with truffle fries - they are very good.Everything was amazing and just not enough time to write about each one.We also had a bottle, or maybe two of Whole Cluster Pinot Noir. Very good.Chef Julieta did an amazing job preparing our food and making it a most enjoyable evening. Owner Ron Holsomback has a great place and has done a wonderful job at putting together great wines with great foods.Service is second to none.

Great food, wine tasting so much fun. Service fun and great we spoke to the manager/owner very nice and funny guy The ambiance really nice. if you want a nice private dinner, a great place to go wasn't very busy, but we went early part of the day and it was well worth it. Located in a small shopping strip, and you would not think how nice the place is until you go inside, and it is a very, very nice wine cellar. it's a must try.

My wife and I were the only people in the place but I must admit, we had to eat early. But, despite that, we got great service; something that doesn't always happen in this situation. Our waiter was very friendly and efficient. He made sure our special requests for the food was followed by the kitchen staff and he double checked to make sure they did. The food was quite good. The menu had a variety that was a bit eclectic but satisfying.The ambiance was that of a Spanish wine cellar. I do wish we had a chance to have a bottle of there wide selection. I'd definitely go back if we returned.

It's all about "first impression" right? Well, didn't go too well with me. Let me play the role of Chef Roberts (Sorry) First - entrance needs cleaning. The door. The threshold is disgusting and we were greeted by an entrance , typical carpet mat that was dirty and full of food crumbs? Hum.. not a good start. We ordered our appetizer and asked for the vinaigrette to be served on the side. Not ! It was all over our appetizer. They had to take it back. We placed our orders and 20 minutes into the waiting, they came back saying sorry but for that dish, we are out of this and out of that and can't complete it. So wife ordered another dish while mine came in and I had to eat without her . Should have sent it back. All in all - We ate what we were served. The food was good but not WOW enough to bring me back living 15 miles away. It's more of a nice local place to visit for wine tasting , enjoy the bar and good food . Prices are moderate , very affordable and great menu choices. From hamburgers, to flat breads to steaks. Seems they have something for everyone . Will I come back ? Yes - great servers. I just wish they would pay more attention to the meaning of "clean" - get rid of that carpet and clean that door and if you are out of items, scratch it off the menu will ya.

Outstanding hidden, romantic delight, Ahi tuna was exquisite fresh delicious! Appetizers contained fresh ingredients, and excellent attention to detail service a must try will definitely plan to go again! Cosy comfortable and romantic.

Good place., good food . We came in Wednesday night. Place was pretty empty. But yet seem so full. Really Intimate. We order a lot off the menu and everything was good. For once I can't complain about anything . All the board was great . The wine hook bays was so amazing If you never been here you are missing out. Come check it out and bring me with you.
