The Burger Palace

The food here is really good. But the service was poor with the owner looking annoyed at my entrance when I entered. There are several TVs not on, music was very loud, dining area was messy and dirty and soda fountains were out. I order the below burger and rosemary parm fries which were very good.The owner/server was coughing a lot, didn't hear very well and took a long time. He argued with me and other customers over our bill. I ordered a soda but never received it. Not wanting to wait, I took a can of Diet Coke to go. At least it was cold.Bottom line, I felt uncomfortable and the atmosphere and service took away from the food.

Somebody raved about this place and we had to give them a try. They're supposed to open at 11 am. We showed up at 5 after 11 am and waited until 11:15 am and they were still closed. Talked to another customer who was waiting too and he said the last time he visited he had the same problem. We ate elsewhere.

My first choice is Burger-Chan, unfortunately they're closed on Mondays. So since Burger Palace was walking distance, I decided to give them a try. It is a mom and pop shop and wait times and service can take a hit on battle weary owners. The entire place is ran by the owners and the FOH staff is the co-owner. NGL, he's got to have one of the most mean lookin faces I've ever seen in the service industry. He's a man of few words and clearly, being welcoming is not his strong suit. However, during my experience, his level of service was sufficient, barely. The Burger Palace touts itself as a 'Stylish burger spot featuring Akaushi beef patties cooked-to-order & dressed with gourmet toppings'. 'Gourmet burgers' seem to be used to separate its burger meals from your traditional fast food joints. However you can find 'gourmet' toppings the norm these days. Despite touting Akaushi beef patties, you can hardly tell any difference of it from any other gourmet burger place. Again, its leaning towards the norm to have specifically branded/graded beef. The faculty itself has seen better days. Trying to capitalize on the contemporary, modern interior décor, the faculty is musty and grime seems to be creeping in the nooks and crannies. It is a few degrees above comfortable level and humidity is noticeable in the air. The abstract color tables, weird looking statues and dilapidated hanging chandelier doesn't blend well with being a hamburger joint. I elected to get the Texas Cheese Burger. The brioche bun was good and it came adequately topped with fresh jalapenos, grilled onions and cheddar. Size wise, it is a tad bigger than average but it did top me off, just barely. Overall its a satisfactory and good cheeseburger (Does not come with fries), but at $13, its a tough sell. I got the parmesan and rosemary fries to share too, but it also came in at a hard-to-swallow price of $7 for a basket. The Burger Palace's prime time was probably around 10-12 years ago. It's seen better days as newer and more modern/casual places have Burger Palace beat. One such place is Burger-Chan which is literally across the street within walking distance. I feel The Burger Palace's days are numbered. Despite lacking in good service and higher than normal pricing, The Burger Palace does offer a decent burger. However its not enough to bring me back for a second try. Things overall were just 'Ok'. I came in for a quick lunch when I was in the area for a conference. The Burger Palace was within walking distance from my hotel, and was tucked in a corner of a shopping center. The exterior of the building did not look out of the ordinary, and the interior appeared to be quite jaded, with a 1980s feel to it--although it is clear that the place began operations well after that time! I took a seat at the bar area--it does not appear that they serve spirits and mixed drinks at The Burger Palace, but there is a beer selection on the menu.It appears that there was only one person working and running the entire operation the day I visited. The server offered me a menu but was not too chatty, as he had other tables to tend to. I took some time to look at the menu and placed my order--an American Classic Burger, Truffle Fries, and a Diet Coke.The drink arrived in a can along with a glass filled with ice, so obviously no refills at The Burger Palace. After some time, the burger and fries arrived. The American Classic burger was presented well with a side of ketchup. It was a basic cheeseburger on a (I presume) brioche bun with a good quality (kobe) beef patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, and a unique sauce. The truffle fries were fried in truffle-infused oil, and was perfectly crisp. Overall, the meal was wonderful. Aside from the quirky decor and understaffed service, I had a wonderful lunch at The Burger Palace and would certainly come back if the opportunity affords it!

Well, it was an okay place if you're going to I don't know...... The hubby's burger was salty. The fries were supposed to be parmesan and rosemary fries. However, the cheese felt like paper. My lemonade turned out to be a limeaid that was hot but I was thirsty so I consumed it anyway. If you're looking for ambiance this is not the place. It is about as exciting as watching cactus grow with wait service drier than the sub sahara desert.

We ended up here because I was really looking forward to a gourmet burger from a nearby place but it was closed. Given the high reviews, even with some disclaimers, I was willing to give it a try. Long story short, there was nothing wrong per se but I won't be back. Ambience 1/5: it just looks dingy and sad inside, which I can overlook but there were multiple dirty tables with dirty dishes piled up. Even after the dishes were removed (after sitting around for 30 min), the table was not wiped down after. I was grossed out by the general un-cleanliness, and I frequently eat in Chinatown. The lights are really dim and the tables are black so it's even harder to see if the table is clean. If they just upgraded to brighter lights it'd make a big difference imo. They also had 3-5 tvs around and none were on. Service 3/5: there was only one guy working as server, front of house, busser and he moved sloooow. I knew from the number of tables sitting there looking disgruntled that service would not be fast so knew what I was getting into. He was fine but it was clear either someone didn't show up for a shift and he was covering or he didn't know all the roles. One nitpick - as the one person working front of the house, you shouldn't stop to socialize for an extended period of time. We watched our burgers sit on the counter for 10 min while he chit chatted. Our stares finally got him moving. Food 3/5: the burgers were juicy, but not medium as we requested. The buns were well toasted and crispy on the edges as I prefer. One of the burgers had a patty that was ridiculously salty. Described as saltier than salt and vinegar chips. Mine (Swiss blue) was ok but got a little salty at the end. Now the rosemary and Parmesan fries were amazing. But is it enough for me to return? Unfortunately not.

What a sticky dump. Everything in the place is sticky.The burger has some nasty secret sauce with 4 of the tiniest pieces of bacon it was a joke. The garlic rosemary Parmesan had zero flavor and forget the wontons period.

Tried this place since it was close to the hotel.I was welcomed by a friendly voice behind the counter and told I could sit anywhere.The burger came out fresh and hot off the grill. The flavor of the burger was good the blue cheese complimented the meat very well. You can tell that the burger was seasoned while being cooked so there was flavor in almost every bite.The side salad was underwhelming especially for $5.95 but hindsight is always 20/20.The place was very quiet even at 7:30 on a Thursday night but I kind of enjoyed the peace and quite.Overall good burger and since I'm here often for work I will probably be back to try other burgers.

100% Questionable EstablishmentIt's been here for years and never more than 1 or 2 tables Several groups came in and left without ordering. Burgers not cooked as requested temperature. Requested no Mayo and got lots!!It's a Sysco joint at best How can this place stay in business,let alone have any positive reviews!!

Great burger! The atmosphere is something that can use updating but hey the food is good! We are from San Antonio, in town for a cheer competition, and came to Galleria area to shop but not at the mall! Wanted something that was easy to get in and out of and this was perfect! We we got the Parmesan Rosemary fries that were super crisp and yummy! I had the Vietnamese burger.. WOW it was super delish! My husband had the Texas Burger and really enjoyed it! Come give it a try!
