The Breakfast Klub

When getting up and ready for breakfast on a Monday morning (5.13.24), I turned to Yelp for nearby spots. I was SO thrilled to see that we were only 8min away from TBK! I've been wanting to try this restaurant for yearssss and didn't get a chance when we were visiting Houston in January (cuz I knew the line would be crazy for a Saturday brunch). We left the hotel room around 10am and were kinda surprised to see a small line outside of the door. It wasn't bad at all though! We waited all of maybe 10-15min to walk in. While the movement of the line and the artwork on the wall were great, what really gave me the first warm feelings was seeing how they treated everyone. As we approached the door, there was an elderly lady sitting at one of the outside tables. One of the staff came outside and asked her if she wanted to wait inside. In particular, even though she said one of her family members was waiting in the line, the staff member said, "it's warm outside and I wouldn't want my own mama to wait outside. So you come on in here and have some cooler air." That says it all. Hospitality at its best. It didn't take long at all to order our food or for it to even arrive. Everything was SOOOO good and I'm so very glad that we were able to come. My husband and i both ordered the Katfish n Grits (add cheese) and scrambled eggs. He had toast while I had the biskuit. So so good and very large portions. We could've shared just one plate! The fish was seasoned to perfection n the grits were hot and buttery. Just how I like em! Our eldest got the French toast with bakon and over easy eggs. She ate the entire plate! The batter had just the right amount of flavor and crisp! Our youngest got one pancake, which she only finished like 1/3 lol, and a side of bakon and sausage. The server at the register told us the pancake was super large and she wasn't lying! That thing covered the entire plate! Lol. All of it was tasty! Husband got a side of wings cuz we had to try them. Previous reviewers said the wings and fish had the same breading, seasoning. I beg to differ. They were slightly different but just as good. But I definitely would pick the fish over the chicken every time cuz uhhh I'm a fried catfish kinda girl! I got a karamel makkhiato to drink and it was AMAZING! Hands down, better than any chain (think Sbux, Dunkin, etc)! Husband got two bottles of lemonade, which I can't tell if they're homemade but it's quite sweet. They liked it lol. All in all, believe the hype! From the service to the quality of the food, you just can't beat it.

Just thought I'd update my review. I've been here so many times since the first one, and it's fantastic each and every visit. We were here again for my daughter's birthday who is now 18!Almost nothing has changed and that is a very good thing. The chicken and waffles was enjoyed, I loved my katfish and grits, and Jerry cake as I always do (it's not on the menu - but it's basically a crispy edge pancake cooked in butter and OMG!)The line was the longest it's ever been, but it's worth every second in line. Great service, great food. Always.

Well that was a spectacular meal. I waited in line at 1115 but it only lasted maybe 30 minutes. Food came out very quickly and was piping hot just like I like it. Grits were perfect. Potatoes were lacking something but well cooked. The wings were wow. And the biscuit was really tasty. Lemonade was delicious and the owner even came by and greeted us. Weekday lunch music was an added bonus!

I haven't been to the breakfast club in over a decade and went with my favorite cousin. Food always hit! Potion sizes are so big ! Definitely could feed two ppl. Pancakes were fluffy and melt in your mouth. Chicken is full of seasoning no bland chicken over here and not salty ! If you see a line don't worry they are fast with it. We waited outside had small talk looked at the menu and boom we were at the front . Spent 20 mins in line and 15 mins eating you're literally in and out ! The service is also so friendly feels like you went to grandmas house from the ol heads outside to the the cashier to the people who take your place . The ambiance is chill very pro black we love that ! And on weekends there's small businesses . Love the community love! Also a parking garage a 3 minute walk for easy parking

Super cool place in Houston. Long line but we were able to go next door to try a smaller menu. The wings and waffles were delicious and staff is super friendly. Everything I tried was amazing

If you don't know this is a houston staple and no matter how many new places in houston there is one thing for sure this place always has a line.My go to here is the catfish and it comes with eggs grits and a biscuit. Another one of my go to is the chicken and waffles.Where you arrive you place your order at the front and they bring it to you after you pick your seat. It still has the cafeteria nostalgia we all long for.They do not take reservations so getting here early is important.Breakfast Klub 10/10

I ordered this off DoorDash, and it was great! The pancakes were plush and creamy which was so good, and the blueberries I added weren't too sweet. I love love love their potatoes! They were the winner in my opinion, but I'm looking forward to trying other things on the menu. 10/10 will eat again

Whenever I visit Houston, I'm always on the lookout for the best food spots. My sister suggested The Breakfast Klub, but she warned me about the long line. I'm not big on waiting, but she swore up and down that the food was worth it. As we stood in line, a staff member came by to explain how to order using a QR Code for the menu. Plus, there was music playing outside, which kept the vibes good. To my surprise, the line moved pretty quickly, and before I knew it, we were inside.The walls were covered in art, and everyone had a smile on their face! It felt like a really happy place. When you come in, you order at the register and then grab a table that fits your group.I went for the catfish, grits, and potatoes, along with a bottle of orange juice. To my amazement, our food was ready just a few minutes after we sat down! It felt like fast food but tasted homemade.Let me tell you about the flavor - it was out of this world! Seriously, every bite was so darn good. The portions were huge, and everything was cooked perfectly. I didn't even need to add salt or pepper; it was just right. I couldn't finish my plate, but you better believe the leftovers were just as tasty.

Don't let the line outside deter you from stopping here. They move the line fast and food comes out quick and hot.

If you like fried chicken as much as I do, then you need to come here. Their fried chicken is OUT OF THIS WORLD delicious! My boyfriend and I came across this restaurant when we were looking for a restaurant that serves delicious chicken and waffles. Now we make it a point to visit every time we are in Houston. Their fried chicken has a crispy breading coat and the meat is always tender and juicy. There is usually a wait on the weekends but it is oh so worth it. Would wait in line outside for 30 minutes in the rain for this fried chicken. No cap.
