Enjoyed a nice dinner here. The crab tower was a really good shareable appetizer with crackers. The rainforest roll has everything I like in sushi. The sushi didn't seem as fresh as it could have been though.

I highly recommend their sashimi/sushi combo off the lunch special menu! It's $19.95 and it's so worth it, you get so much food. It comes with 1 piece each of sushi tuna, salmon, shrimp and snapper, 2 pieces each of sashimi tuna, salmon and snapper, salad, California rolls, orange, miso soup and a big bowl of rice of your choice. The sashimi pieces are so thick and fresh, and everything tastes high quality; if you still have room for dessert after this, I highly recommend getting their chocolate spring rolls, it comes with ice cream too. It's chocolaty and crispy, nothing you've had before, you'll be thinking about it for days. The restaurant is spacious and beautifully decorated. There's plenty of parking in the lot. Service is superb, the waitress came to check on us regularly, and she even brought high chairs and balloons for our kids. We can't wait to come back, absolutely love this place. Be mindful there's road construction around Shepherd right now.

Trying to find a great sushi place near Garden Oaks today, we ended up wandering down to Washington and had lunch at Bluefish Japanese restaurant. I'm not a sushi aficionado but I do know when I don't like something. I liked everything we tried. The rice on the rolls was just right, and there was a very large selection of many types of rolls. I like it all but today we had a shrimp tempura roll and a rainbow roll. Both were very fresh and really tasty. No complaints. Also had a tuna tartar in top of fried rice cake which was excellent but that, along with the roll, stuffed me.The place was pretty empty at 2:00 on a Saturday but by the time we left, it had started filling up. I understand it gets very busy here and that is surprising by how large of a place it is. It has two huge bars. One is a sushi bar and one is a traditional bar. You can order food at either one. Our server had been there a long time and was very knowledgeable and helpful in making decisions. We LOVE fried rice. I could eat it three times a day. The big plus here is that they have excellent fried rice. To a of egg and tender seasoned steak strips along with perfectly cooked shrimp made this the highlight of the meal. I just gotta have that fried rice. I still want to try the seafood tower and the tuna tartar stack with avocado and rice.Quick add in - if you're ever in Breckenridge Colorad and have to have sushi, they have one in the middle of town. Been there and love it too!Loved the lighting and design of the restaurant. Just a really great place overall. Once I try the sashimi, and that ahi tuna tower I might be back to add another star!

This is an okay place for sushi. For the price (pretty standard pricing) I think you can get better sushi in Houston. I got the nigiri and sushi which was fine. Service was friendly but slow. Inside decor is very neon 80s vibe. Feels dated.

Blue fish is a regular haunt when it comes to sushi girls night or dinner (been coming for 10 years). The restaurant used to be very popular several years ago and crowds have died down since but the food remains the same. Outstanding options to try: soft shell crab app, Sophie's lollipops, summer rolls, any of the nigiri, and of course the tuna tower.

This Japanese restaurant is one of my go-to places in Washington to grab sushi. Parking can be challenging to find when busy, but there is valet if necessary. The food is so delicious, especially the sashimi and sushi. I highly recommend this restaurant around the Washington and Heights area.

Great parking off an accessible street, friendly and good service. Good selections of both food and drinks and wine. And, last, but not least, spacious and quiet enough for hearing conversation.

We have visited The Blue Fish - Houston many many times and at all their previous locations. It has definitely been my favorite sushi restaurant since I was a kid. Most recently we dined on:- Crab/Ahi tuna tower (ask for the Wonton crisps)- Salmon and Tuna tartare on crispy rice cakes - Mega lobster roll - 121 Roll- Volcano roll If you are in the area, have the time to sample some of their delicious sushi... I recommend you give them a try.

This is my go-to sushi spot. Everything is really good, including the martinis. Fun atmosphere. But I mostly order through Uber Eats lately since I moved a bit farther out. Well the wrong order was delivered yesterday. My husband got nowhere with Uber Eats, but called the restaurant and the manager drove our order to our house himself! That was not expected or necessary, but so appreciated. Thank you, Blue Fish!

The Food was amazing, but the service, prices, and online website was very poor.I would only recommend coming for happy hour 4:30pm - 7pm.I recently went here yesterday with my friend and I thought they closed based on the website not having Houston as a location, but we drove by based on other yelp reviews and it was open. The parking lot was not full but they were short staffed so they seated everyone in the bar side which made it very loud. Why wouldn't you let us see the sushi being made. When we were seated he made us walk the long way for no reason and was hard to hear because it was so loud. We place our own orders since you fill out the paperwork on the table and one of the items in the menu was not on the sheet which was confusing. It felt like they did not care about detail as our waiter (later I find out is the Manager or GM) was also disheveled looking.I asked for a Hot Green Tea and a fork. I never got my tea so I had to go get it myself. Later when the food came I got up and went to ask the waiter again and he argued with me and said there is one on the plate. I said that we are sharing and it is a serving fork I need one to eat with please and why are you arguing over a fork? Again this is the Manager, wow what a way to be a leader. That basically ruined our nice outing so we don't eat much and nothing was comp for the rudeness and our nil for 2 people was 140.00. Almost all items are 18.95 way over priced for lunch time and poor service.*** update this location is franchise and severed their relation Jan 2024Franchise Manager Kiet [email protected]"This location is franchised and unfortunately the franchisee severed their relations/affiliation with The Blue Fish corporate brand at the beginning of the year. For this reason the houston location and any other store under this franchisee's ownership/management has been removed from our website and all other corporate provided services. Complaints/grievances would need to go through that stores management team for further investigation and resolution. I apologize for your experience and hope someone there can assist you with this!"
