Wonderful!Service was quick and polite. Food was of generous portions, but not too much. Exotic cocktails and adult beverages. Considering the lines at places along the street, the Black Sheep is an unknown steal.

Came here for a work lunch, it's a pleasant spot inside the Kendall Hotel. I got the curry chicken salad (pictured). The curry had a lot of flavor, and the other ingredients (lettuce, avocado) tasted really fresh. Service was solid, and the space is small but comfortable. It's a good work lunch option if you're in the area!

Good for a relaxing lunch. The food here is not bad, it is just pricey. The roast beef sandwich was enjoyable, packed with real roast beef, and very substantial. The tomato soup was spot on. The crab cake (singular, in the menu as crab cakes) over greens was good, but for $20 not sure it was worth it. Service is professional, but it's not going to be fast enough for a quick in and out lunch in less than 30 min. Come if you want a slow, relaxing lunch in the summer, especially if you can seat in the outdoor patio.

I'm usually only here with larger groups and the set menu is rather pricey but the food is quite good. The normal menu tends to be more reasonably priced. And really who can beat an old firehouse as a setting?!

Excellent spot for a simple lunch, with attentive service, and excellent ambience. The building is an old converted fire station, and the owners have done an great job maintaining the buildings original charm, while making it comfortable for patrons. The food menu is simple and classic, with things like crab cakes done exceptionally well, and with light playful twists on international dishes.

Writing this review under my sons account- I had several meals at the Black Sheep while in boston visiting my son the Concierge at the Kendall. Santos and the Restaurant staff are the best! Each meal is prepared with care, and the food is always fantastic. Love the Scallops! among everything else. Santos and Dalu and Bruno, and all the kitchen staff, servers do a amazing job! I came here for lunch and ordered the "skinny salad" but asked for the lemon vinaigrette that comes with the chicken curry salad. Based off other reviews, I might have been lucky, because my portion was perfectly fine. We were able to grab a seat outside (most of which is shaded) so it was a perfect spot for a Tuesday lunch. The waitress was friendly and helped get our drinks and order right away. I would say that the food took longer to come out than expected, but I could tell the chicken was freshley grilled and it was worth the wait in my opinion.We did finish eating and had to wait another 10-15 for the check, which is somewhat significant if you're trying to get in an hour lunch in Kendall during the lunch hour.Salad was a top 4/5 salad I've ever had. Fresh ingredients and made in a good ratio.It is a pricey salad, but most sit down lunches are in Kendall or in Boston in general.

I used to think this place was great. It was the place to go when looking for something outside the norm that is good quality.That has now changed. First off they took my favorite thing off their menu. It was the butternut squash ravioli & it was damn good. Second, the waiter basically told us to leave & finish our conversation in the lobby when we were done w/ the check. Um really? Are you flipping kidding me? I have spent over 10 years in hospitality & you don't ever tell customers to leave. The nerve of this server to kick us out as if there was a long line of patrons waiting. Completely ridiculous.

Good Classic comfort food, cooked by some of the best chefs in town. The salmon with rice, and veggies is yummy, and the wine list is perfect. Homemade deserts and fresh options for all tastes.

I had the Kendall... (I think) -- came with a black bean patty that basically fell apart to the point where I couldn't eat my burger properly. And the texture was indistinguishable from the avocado :( Did not like, will not come back for that especially considering the price - despite proximity to my workplace
