Thai Stellar

Arrive in Houston late and with only a few minutes before closing ordered take out from Thai Stellar. They quickly took my order and it was ready by the time I arrived from the airport. They were closing at the time but I'm sure during regular hours the restaurant has a cozy ambiance. Now the food - pad Thai (chef's kiss), papaya salad (outstanding), dumplings (superb) and steamed veggies. Everything, everything was great. I even recommended this spot to my colleagues during my travel. I would definitely go back when I'm in the area again.

Still my go to Thai restaurant after 2 years. LOVE their red curry! Drunken noodles, Tom yum soup, and pad see ew is also great. Service is friendly and fast. They crank out a good number of to-go orders but also have tables inside. They don't serve beer here but told us that they allow for customers to bring it in; so BYOB.

This Thai restaurant in a Webster strip plaza seems to have something of a cult following. I can see why: it advertises genuinely authentic, scratch-made Thai dishes in a large, quirky space. The room is cavernous and dark, with dangling lamps, vintage Thai movie posters, a gum ball machine, and various other trinkets adorning the walls like colorful umbrellas, bottles, and a bike (?). Our server was very friendly, almost paternal, in his recommendations and desire to ensure we had an enjoyable lunch. The plates are hefty to say the least, and the two of us split an appetizer, noodle dish, and curry, which left us with full bellies AND leftovers. Thai dumplings - these hand-made steamed dumplings stuffed with crab, shrimp, bamboo, and ground park were satisfying and wholesome, if on the small side. They were super juicy as well. Coconut Island - an absolutely gigantic bowl (I didn't even know they made them this big) filled with a bright orange coconut-based curry, lots of seafood - shrimp, scallops, and a large fried fish filet - and some crunchy vegetables. A vibrant and well-balanced flavor profile with some lovely textural variation and more than enough to share two ways. I will say that the scallops were tragically low-quality and tasted old/defrosted, a solitary slip-up in an otherwise solid dish. Pad Thai - this was a spirited take on the quintessential Thai classic. Yet again, the portion size was eye-opening: enough for 3-4 to share. The taste profile was syrupy, tart, and savory and there were plenty of mix-ins: crunchy crushed peanuts, chewy tofu, and oily scallions. Tasted great reheated the next day as well. We were also intrigued by the pineapple curry on the menu, so that'll be for next time. While I'm not sure Thai Stellar passes the Michelin guide "worth traveling to the area just to dine at this restaurant" test, it is certainly a worthy lunch or dinner spot if you find yourself in the vicinity.

It's taken me 5 years to drive literally down the street and try this place!! I SHOULD HAVE BEEN EATING HERE WEEKLY!!Thai Stellar has amazing food yall and the service was so so good!! Attentive and friendly and the food came out fast and hot hot hot!I went for lunch and started with the pork shu mai and it did not disappoint!! I ordered the drunken noodles for my lunch and they were FIRE!!! I was so impressed with the food and the price point was awesome for lunch!! Plenty of leftovers cuz the portions were good sized! Intimate setting, so lunch for one was just right !Get here now !!

Had a late dinner during the week and it was great! Not busy at all with fast and excellent service! There are tables and booths, and the place is very casual. The portions are huge too, and my dish was well seasoned with fresh vegetables!! Our waitress was super nice and attentive during our dining experience! Parking is also very easy. Would highly recommend!!!

Just wanted to say, I came here because my favorite Thai restaurant in CL is sadly closed permanently.Now, upon walking into Thai Stellar I was hit with a pungent "old mildew" smell like the building is old. I brushed it off and was hoping the food would be as good as Thai Cottage.I wanted fresh tofu spring rolls which I was told they only have the fried ones. So I instead chose the appetizer fried tofu with sweet sour sauce with the main course of green curry.The appetizer came out at the same time as the main course which was stupid. The tofu was fried and bland. The sweet sour sauce was ehh, but nothing special. They didn't give me enough sauce for the amount of tofu sticks.The rice in the green curry had gotten cold quickly and the green curry was lackluster in flavor. It tasted watered down and didn't have the flavor or scent that I was looking for.The staff in the dining room will stand and stare at you while you eat. I did not like that very much. The hostess and busser stood in the back of the restaurant and was looking at me eat. I know this because when I looked their way, they were looking at me. This made me very uncomfortable.This is my last time here. The food isn't good or tasty. It felt like I was eating at a low-budget Chinese restaurant. Oh, and I must mention that I came in at lunchtime and the restaurant had a full lot, but it wasn't many people inside.

Thai restaurants have a lot of variation between them. The way some of the menu items were prepared implied yet another variation that I haven't seen before. That is actually a benefit! This isn't just "another" Thai restaurant. Walking in, the ambiance is quiet and calming. We were greeted promptly and served quickly. That's nice, but what about the food?I ordered my benchmark dish -- green curry -- along with some other food for the others at the table. If a Thai restaurant can make a good green curry, I've found that the rest of their food will also be good.Sure enough, this was a good green curry! Perfectly spiced, served with a huge heap of steamed rice. The other dishes were very good, too, but as they are not my benchmark dish, I will leave exploring the menu to you.I don't live in the area, but if I did, this would be a regular restaurant for me and my family. Recommended!

The food was all amazing. We had the green curry (amazing) and pad Thai which was probably the best we've ever had. The restaurant was clean, comfortable, and vibrant.

What a fitting name because Thai stellar is quite stellar. We found an amazing restaurant today and we will definitely be back here for many more meals. They have quite the menu and we are looking forward to trying this place ASAP again. Food: we started off with some egg rolls and let me tell you what, they're cooked fresh to order. Full of flavor and very tasty. The sauce that came with them was so good. Next main course. I went with the drunken noodle and it was absolutely amazing. The beef was tender and had so much flavor. So many vegetables with flavor oh my God it was an amazing meal. My girlfriend had the sweet-and-sour chicken and let me tell you what it was absolutely amazing. I've never seen that dish on any other time menu before. The sauce was exceptionally good. We also got some dessert which was the deep-fried banana with ice cream. Oh my God absolutely amazing. This place is a true hidden gem.I cannot wait to come back and try more things off their menu. The customer service is exceptionally good as well. Also, we really like the interior decor. All of these different movie posters and differentthings of Thailand. This is a very unique great restaurant. We will continue to come here for many years. I am very pleased with this restaurant. Thanks again for an amazing experience.

I've been here a few times and the food is really yummy! I really like the Yum Yum soup and chicken Satay! The service is great and I like how dark and cozy it is inside. I'm definitely going to try other items next time.
