Love the Massaman curry, and Pad Thai takeout. Very reliable quality. Definitely our go-to for Thai in the area.

We went to Thai Lotus in anticipation of finally finding a good Thai restaurant in the areaI ordered the Thai dumplings steamed They were the worst dumplings I've ever had They were more like dim sum with a horrible tasting meaty dry texture minced And they were cold And we sent them back Then we ordered the Drunken noodles with vegetables It was almost inedible It was so salty with soy sauce and the vegetables were all soggy with one piece of broccoli I'm sorry we couldn't like this place But, for $18 for a few salty Noodles and soggy vegetables We will not be going back And on top of it, it was so hot in there. When we mentioned it to the server he said, "It's a long story, but, the owner of the building has the thermostat locked and we can't get to it. And it will cost $10,000 to upgrade the unit "

I'm a fan of Thai Lotus, located at Millpond Village in Cary. The food was pretty good Thai with generous portions, albeit a bit pricey. The ambiance is upscale strip-mall restaurant: new, bright & clean, but nothing fancy. No table cloths here :) The service was friendly enough, but on the slow side. When this happens I wonder if more servers is the solution or a bit more hustle. (Couldn't tell in this case.) I'm glad they had beer available as the chef doesn't mind delivering the heat here. I'd recommend getting medium and adding Prik Nam Pla (fish sauce with hot peppers) if you want to dial-in your own heat level. I'll be back next time I'm in Cary.

Great little spot in an area that's surprisingly low on great spots. I just randomly took the exit into the strip expecting to see a few cool places to eat. Not really. There's maybe two, depending on your threshold. Cozy yet somehow not particularly small. Trainee waiters handled things well. Not very sunny, as the windows were covered. It added to the ambiance...I don't normally like the restrooms that close to the kitchen. I'm funny like that. Insanely good steamed dumplings made me feel like hugging everybody. The accompanying soy sauce was okay, but I recommend Sriracha. Got the cup of coconut soup with shrimp. It had a mild flavor with a kick that snuck up on me. Halfway in, my nose wanted to run. It was pretty good with 3 tasty shrimp. There's something missing. Not sure what it is. Idk but it won't keep me from returning. I'm a fan. Nice, semi-intimate date setting. Bring your woman. Or your man. Heck, bring both. No judgments. A.

Maybe the worst Thai food I've ever had. Noodles in the drunken noodles tasted like partially cooked dehydrated noodles. The beef in the drunken noodles were super tough and leathery. Pad prik khao with pork had super watered down sauce. Tom yum soup also super watery. How is this rated 4.5 stars??

Lunch visit, clean environment, friendly wait staff.Pad Thai Ew was delicious. Hot, fresh, just the right spice. Date had beef and broccoli and liked it as compared to the usual small town Chinese carryout. I'd eat herevagain if in neighborhood.

I am staying in the Cary area for an extended visit and was seeking out a go-to Thai place. This is NOT It.I ordered what I get from my local Thai place, cashew nut chicken. On pickup, the location was LOVELY. Great atmosphere, smells were heavenly.I was really excited to get it home for dinner.Upon opening, it was drowning in a thin red sauce - not at all what I was expecting for cashew nut chicken, but I was game first something new.The dish was comprised of onions, red and green bell peppers, PINEAPPLE and really, really well cooked chicken. Not a single cashew to be found.Okay, so I got the wrong order. No big deal. (Or so I thought)Wanting to be a good citizen for those nut allergy neighbors in the world, I called the restaurant to let them know that my order didn't have cashews in it and hopefully wherever my order went the one about to eat it doesn't have a nut allergy. It just got weird from there. The first thing out of the representative's mouth was there is nothing we can do about it. It is not our fault. After more awkward conversation telling me that I actually ordered spicy cashew which does come with pineapples (this dish that I brought home has ZERO spice - even for a white girl - it was sweet) - when I asked about the missing cashews he actually implied that I was lieing .. like maybe I ate them already?!?!? Uhm, no.Then more gaslighting and blame was passed on to me that it is my responsibility to open the double tied bag and confirm that the order that has my name on it and was handed to me by a very friendly and polite gentleman was indeed the correct order. It was my fault it was wrong because I didn't check the order before I left the restaurant. The receipt had the correct info on it! I assume the restaurant knew what they were doing. Again, on me for assuming the restaurant knew their business and handled it well on a daily basis....and then more insinuating that I was lying to get a free meal. I NEVER ONCE asked for OR IMPLIED that I was seeking any type of compensation or reimbursement. (Nor did I raise my voice or use a cross word)My only reason for the call was to stop someone from eating something with cashews should they have a nut allergy.Wow.On to the meal itself. The vegetables and sweet and mild sauce were good. It was not what I was expecting, craving or wanting but it was fine. The vegetables tasted fresh. The chicken was not stellar. It was tough and required a knife to cut into smaller pieces as it was hard to chew. The bonus is that my jaw got a workout. Typically, I would not leave a subpar review. However, the gaslighting approach when I called the restaurant to let them politely know there was error compelled me to share.Lesson learned: if one is ordering for takeout from this place, open the bag and open each individual carton to be sure they are serving you what you ordered. Not a lesson I plan on ever repeating.

This was my first time at Thai Lotus. My husband and I went with a friend. Everything was great. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. Our experience was very positive and they made us feel like family. We had several dishes and they were all delicious. Very clean and seating offering were inside and out. If you're looking for a great place to dine that is the place. Thank you owners and staff for a wonderful first time experience. We will be back!!
