Thai American Bistro

If you are wanting home cooked Thai food with love-- this is the place. The restaurant is small and warm. The people are great! We met John and Kate and they are awesome. My family and I (4 people) decided to order a few items to share so we could try different things. The Chicken Satay & Moo Ping were very flavorful and juicy. Not over cooked and dry at all compared to other places I have tried this dish. The pad thai, you can not go wrong with it at all. Red Curry with Roasted duck was amazing! We loved the sweetness from the pineapple in the dish. The roasted duck was nice and tender.

It was a one woman show!! I assume she was the owner, as she greeted with a smile a sat us immediately, took our order and served. The place is small for sit down but offers a nice ambiance for a quick meal. I loved the little umbrellas hanging throughout!!We had mixed veggies with rice and pad ke mow (pan fried noodles with beef [chosen]). Everything was delicious and tasted fresh!! Such a gem in Sugarland/Riverstone area.

This is a small restaurant good for small groups. Service was good. Food came out fairly fast.Ordered the Pad Thai with shrimps, a cup of Tom yum soup, green curry with tofu, and mango with sweet sticky rice for dessert.The Pad Thai was ok. The shrimps were fresh, and the portion was good. However it was missing the lime commonly seen in Pad Thai dishes. Not a big deal. The Tom Yum soup lacked flavors. No sourness but spice level was there. The green curry lacked some flavors too. The mango sticky rice was good. The sticky rice was just a small portion but the flavor was there. The mango was a little tang but it complemented the sweet sticky rice. Overall not very impressed with the quality.

This opened up near my house and it's become one of my favorite Thai restaurants in all of Houston.First off, I only order to go here, have never dined in. And a quick tip, order about 30 minutes before you want to eat it, they are good but are short staffed and very busy.I usually start off with the green papaya salad, here it comes with fried chicken and sticky rice so you basically get two appetizers for the price of one. The Tom yum here is solid, they pack it with a decent amount of shrimp.As far as the curries go they are all good, but my favorite is red curry with roasted duck, not many Thai places offer duck as a protein option.Crab fried rice is my go to here as well. Super flavorful.As far as noodles, pad Thai and pad kee Mao are delicious.Finally, they are one of only a few places in town that offers Khoa soi. This was a dish I fell in love with in Las Vegas at Lotus of Siam and have been searching for it in Houston. So very happy to see it here.Overall, even if I wasn't near by I'd drive to eat here!

Service was very friendly and this is a family place. It's a small space. For smaller groups, it definitely better. We ordered and it did not take long for the food to come.Tom Yum Soup was nice and tangy. You get to choose the spice level. We also got fried rice (I didn't try... but must have been good because they ate it all up), Pad Kee Mao (good flavor and meat was tender... just a little more saucy that I am used to) and Basil Egg Plant (needed more eggplant).When I visit again, need to kick up the spice level.

Order your food, watch videos of Thai street food on their TV while you wait, then, dig into your pad Thai! This place was delicious! We got chicken satay (very tender with a nice peanut sauce), Tom yum soup (perfect balance of sour, sweet and spicy), pad Thai (flavorful!) And papaya salad with fried chicken! I've never seen restaurants serve papaya salad with fried chicken and sticky rice but oh man.... It's the perfect combo!!! Will definitely come back again!!

I've been looking for a good local Thai option, and I finally found it! I ordered yellow curry with chicken, red curry with beef, and chicken pad Thai. The yellow I ordered medium and the red mild. The mild red curry had great flavor, and the medium yellow was spicy, but not toooooo spicy. Hot probably would have been too much, and I like spice. All in all, great food, good value. Give it a try.

Finally got to try this neighborhood Thai place, had a good experience overall.Food: we got the Tom yum soup as well as the papaya salad and pad Thai. The food was lacking a bit of flavor but still good overall. I think the spicy level was a bit on the milder sideService: service was great, they checked on us and made sure our food came out quickly. We noticed that this restaurant gets a lot of takeout orders so it seems to be popular in the areaAmbiance: quaint decorations all around, there's a giant picture of Thailand hanging on the wall, almost makes me wanna visit someday!

Delicious Thai dishes at reasonable prices with friendly customer service...highly recommend!

Wonderful Thai place in Riverstone area, authentic style Thai. I'm glad I dont have to drive far away to grab some great Thai anymore. Got the PadSee Ew with been, that's how I judge Thai spots I like, and it was perfect! Very limited seating and small restaurant, I doubt I'll ever eat inside, mainly togo orders. Fast and friendly service! I'll be back for more dishes. Definitely try this place out
