Terakawa Ramen is a small restaurant located in Philadelphia's Chinatown area, known for serving authentic and delicious dishes, and in my opinion a must-visit destination. The restaurant has about 30 seats, creating an intimate dining experience. The staff at Terakawa Ramen is attentive and polite, ensuring that customers feel welcome and well taken care of during their visit.Signature Dish: Terakawa RamenOne of the standout dishes at Terakawa Ramen is their signature dish, the "Terakawa Ramen." This dish features Natural Heritage Berkshire Pork bone soup topped with roast pork (charshu), bamboo shoots, kikurage mushrooms, red ginger, chopped scallions, and a seasoned boiled egg. Very rich and flavorful broth, tender pork, and well-balanced combination of ingredients. I am told the broth is prepared days in advance, allowing the flavors to develop and intensify, resulting in a deeply satisfying bowl of ramen. It was so delicious!

A solid spot in Chinatown for your ramen fix on a chilly day. Wait times vary depending on time and day of week, and the wait on a Sunday night was 5-10 minutes. Warning for those going during peak dinner times on a Friday night.Had a takoyaki to share (6 pieces) which was good, but underwhelming due to a tiny bit of octopus per piece. The ramens are solid. I personally love the Tan Tan with pork for a spicy kick, but theyre known for their house special ramen. For its price point, the ramen is good / generous but the appetizers are a bit overpriced for what you get.

Probably one of the best Ramen places in Philly. I'd rate 4.5 stars if it was possible. I've been here multiple times over the years.Usually I order Takyoyaki and the Karaage Chicken. Karaage is usually on point. Takoyaki while tasty, has small octopus pieces used, but I'm ok with it considering the price point.Kyushu Danji is great for those who can handle a very large bowl ramen (like 2 persons worth) and want a lot of charshu.I opted this time for the Charshu Men and added an egg and bamboo shoots as extras. Size was just right. Broth was nice and piping hot. If I'm nitpicking, the charshu could have been slightly more tender but otherwise good flavor.Service was pretty standard.

Friendly staff, virtually no wait (for 2) on a Sunday night! Ordered the Mayu ramen, signature (tonkatsu) ramen, karaage (fried chicken), and chashu onigiri. Overall the food was good but not the best ramen/appetizer I've had. I'd recommend the mayu ramen over the signature since the garlic on the mayu made it super flavorful (though it did get a bit heavy and salty at the half bowl mark). Pass on the chashu onigiri (the rice was a bit mushy for me).

Straight up, confirming the almost 2k reviews that say this place is it! Not only do they have Yelp Waitlist which helps when it comes to their rather long wait times (because it's that good), but the ambiance and service seals the deal. The restaurant is small, the tables are very close to each other, so definitely expect that. My table was luckily tucked away in a corner so I wasn't too bothered by it. Our waitress was friendly, helpful, and attentive from the jump. I specifically ordered the vegetarian miso ramen and my table shared some edamame. The bowl was huge and packed full of veggies and flavor. There was no way I was going to be able to eat it all but I definitely tried. If you're near Chinatown in Philly, you have to stop through. There's a ton of good food and shopping to make an afternoon of it.

OMG..... quite literally one of the best ramen places in Philly. I'll start off by saying you'll probably want to spend your money mostly on the ramen. The appetizers are good, not great or anything mind blowing (not really worth spending your money on in my opinion). But the ramen, is a completely different story. The broth is so rich and creamy and flavorful, I could've slurped on that alone and have been satisfied. I think this could possibly be my favorite ramen place in Philly. The service was fast and our waiter was kind and attentive. The inside is clean and has a lot of seating but a bit crowded, which makes sense because it is such a popular restaurant. The restaurant is located in Chinatown, which is convenient. Side note: they do not take reservations by calling in. You have to walk in and sign your name with how many guests on a tablet when you walk through the front door. I went with my family on a Sunday evening and for a party of 5, the wait was about 30-45 minutes.

My first night in Philly and the first restaurant I decided to try and I was most definitely not disappointed. The dining experience was amazing and the food was really good! It was a great start to an amazing trip. I never had such good crispy katsu before and everything was amazingly priced! I tried the takoyaki balls, chicken karaage, chicken katsu curry, and ramen and all of the items were super good! We got seated at our table almost immediately which was so cool and the food portions were so huge! Would definitely come back. The atmosphere was super chill and friendly!
