My GF kept telling me about a Mexican restaurant that she loves and has fresh made food and that's really good. If I understood correctly the name is a location in Mexico northwest of Mexico City known for a temple, pyramid and ruins. So finally we had our chance to go and we went to the original location (but they have 4 total)The restaurant is in an older looking small strip mall and not much curb appeal but like they say "the proof is in the pudding" and the food is the reason to go here.I ordered chicken flautas and they were great. Looked hand rolled with thin tortillas and fried to perfection, light and crunchy. My GF ordered fajita quesadillas and they were really good and had a lot of fajita meat, they did not skimp on the meat. The place is medium size and gives you that quaint old school eatery vibe We will be back for sure!

I hadn't been here in years and I had my mind set to eat lunch there as I was working nearby. The green and red salsas served with chips are very spicy. The menu is ample and I ordered spinach enchiladas. The sauce is supposed to be creamy with mushrooms. I don't like mushrooms but she said they could make a sauce without them. She offered tomatillo but it's made with jalapeños, too spicy for me. Tomatillo sauce is generally not spicy. She came with my enchiladas with a tomato sauce. She hadn't offered that sauce but it's good. The enchilada tortillas were chewy; however, the food was good. I find the veggie dish expensive considering the strip and neighborhood where the restaurant is. With tax before tip, my dish was $15. And I wanted an agua fresca but come on, $5?

Contender for best bonafide Tex-Mex spot in Houston. This specific location was recommended by a friend, and I'm glad we made the drive. To get to the strip mall that houses the restaurant, you'll drive past barbacoa joints, gas stations with signs in all Spanish lettering, and an assortment of food trucks and grocery stores. The place itself is homey with friendly staff and a TV playing the local news. Be warned: the portions here are no joke. My "La Silvia" mixed plate literally came on a serving platter and it was fantastic, both in terms of quality and quantity (at $15). The cheese enchilada was bomb, with a tangy and earthy red sauce and copious amounts of sharp yellow cheese. The beef fajita taco was probably my least favorite item of the bunch, but it was still good; the warm hand-made tortilla was thick and dense. The crispy shredded chicken taco surprised me, as I didn't expect it to be as incredible as it was. When I bit into the crunchy casing, the shredded chicken released an absolute torrent of juice. Super well-seasoned too. Even the refried beans were eye-poppingly flavorful, I'm guessing due to the addition of lard. And naturally, Teotihuacan passes the salsa test, with warm, smoky red and tart and fresh green offerings. A great place to bring out-of-towners looking to experience a Tex-Mex food coma.

Went on a Friday afternoon. It was pretty empty. Service was 10/10. It was very clean. Waiters are very kind. I got a large quesadilla plate, I don't remember the actual name of the dish. The dish also comes in a small. The small didn't fill me up the first time I tried it and the large had me stuffed today. Quesadillas were decent. I'd give it a 7.5/10. There's plenty of menu items. I'd definitely recommend this place. I do not recommend seafood from here.

Love, Love, Love Teotihuacan Mexican Cafe, I've been eating at this location since I was a child with my parents. I'm now a parent myself and bring my children here often who also absolutely love this establishment. Thank you guys for a life time of great satisfaction and great memories. Keep on doing what you are doing and don't change one thing!!!

This is a great gem of a place, small but don't let that deter you away. Sit you down and get some fabulous chip with homemade red and green salsa's. They are quick to get your drink order with plenty of options. The choices are 6 pages long menu from appetizers to seafood to meat or chicken choices.Definitely, will return to try other dishes, service here is spectacular, chips/salsa never go empty neither does your drink.

I ordered the Angel dinner that consists of chicken flauta, chicken enchilada and chicken quesadilla with rice and beans. Everything was very good. Fresh and tasty and I even had leftovers. The enchilada and quesadilla were filled with cubed chicken and had a wonderful taste to them. The rice and beans were also good. Very filling meal. The green chicken enchiladas were great as well. The hot sauces were great. The service is good and they keep the drinks refilled without having to ask.I would definitely recommend this place and come back again to try something else. The ambiance is good with music playing in the background tempting me to dance. They are located in a small shopping strip. They stay busy.

Our favorite Mexican restaurant to go to! The first location is my go to because their salsa does not change. I don't know what it is about the other locations but the salsa is not the same (they always say it's the same recipe). I just stick to going to the small one. Servers have been there for years and are so nice and welcoming. The owners are always seen in and out of the restaurant. This is the spot!
