Tasu Asian Bistro - Raleigh

I am updating my review and completely removing my previous review as the removal is deserved. I recently dined at Tasu and I have to tell you, not only was the menu a better option with the buy one get one 1/2 off, but the food was very good, the service was great, especially for a waiter that had his hands full, the manager was extremely friendly and came over to the table and made his appreciation known, and the area we dined was very clean and the ambiance a little quieter than normal, which was nice. Overall, it was a great experience and one worthy of a vast score improvement.

Came here with a friend for dinner and was impressed by some things, others not so much! Our waitress was very nice but the service was kind of slow. The inside is fairly clean but the bathrooms were a little wet with a strange smell.The crab rangoons are great- we really enjoyed those! However, the pad Thai (a wonderfully large portion by the way) was hard to eat as the noodles were tough. Overall a pretty average experience.

The Eats:Have visited over the years pre and post pandemic. The food is always solid. The menu suffers a little for how many offerings they have, so nothing jumps out as exceptional. But the sushi and entrees have always been solid. I go back and forth depending on my mood about if I should up this review to 4/5 stars because I haven't had a bad experience here but I haven't had any food where I'm like oh yes let's go back for that. The Service:The staff is always super friendly and service is always good. The Location: The inside is always clean, slightly worn in some areas, but the temp is confusing. It's either freezing or slightly stale/warm inside. There's never an in between. Verdict: if friends want to meet out for a bite or you need a quick sushi fix, definitely a solid choice, but don't expect your tastebuds to be dancing.

Super happy with my first experience dining here! They have BOGO 50% off sushi rolls which was a nice surprise, the servers were friendly, the food came out quick, and the sushi was delicious! I'm already making plans to come back ASAP.

This place is a solid three on the rating scale. We only had the sushi and it was pretty good, but not anything outstanding. The inside of the restaurant could use a refresh. needs to be a little bit brighter. I would recommend trying to get into the front room near the bar instead of the back room where we seated, which is darker and old. Ryan our server had some good suggestions though.

The food is good, the management is good, but the service is sometimes rude. On Labor Day I wanted to order online, but I wanted to first check that they were open, so I called them. They immediately said "please hold" and I said "are you open" but they'd already put me on hold. I called back and they did the same thing, so I decided not to order from here again.

I try to hit this place up every time I am in the area. The sushi is always consistent, fresh, and delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive. The ambience is nice. I have dined here with friends but I also love bringing my laptop and treating myself to a work lunch. Definitely try this location!

Ate here today as a pre birthday weekend while visiting family. We tried the scallop roll and salmon roll under the buy one get one menu. We also tried the Crazy Donkey and the Tom Yum Roll. I have to say the Crazy Donkey was by far my favorite. The flavors were so good. Mandy was our server, she was busy during the time we were there but she did a great job making sure we were okay during our lunch.

This place is NOT what it' use to be. The BOGO were small basic rolls like this that were average and all specialty rolls were paid per roll. If they were high quality bangin rolls, I wouldn't be mad about it but my sister ordered two of her go-to rolls back in the day, she compared them to a grocery store quality roll. Also, every almost every dish was 20$+!! My Pad Thai wasn't bad -but then again, you can't really screw that up. The ambiance was VERY brightly lit and it was fairly empty for a weekend dinner night. Comes to show that you're doing something wrong and different than what it used to be where it would be absolutely slammed and had wait times to be seated. It's sad to see a classic and favorite restaurant of my family drop in quality but it is what it is. I wouldn't recommend coming here, there are so many great Asian restaurants in the triangle now, you aren't missing much skipping this one.
