I love the adventure of authentic Mexican spots in small grocery stores and gas stations so I stopped in today to try it out. I tried the chicken and carne asada tacos since they were out of carnitas. The portion size was nice, both has onion & cilantro with lime slice. While the carne asada was decent, it wasn't anything to brag about. The chicken was a flat out no for me. Now.. if I was bae hoping in the area or just needed an easy low effort meal, I may go however I wouldn't drive from downtown to intentionally stop here. Service was a 5.

Newly opened inside the Chevron gas station at the corner of Virginia and Highland, Taqueria Taquito Express is a quick and easy stop for filling and affordable breakfast and lunch items. They have a limited number of menu ingredients but they do a lot with them, and I have been impressed at how quickly they churn out burritos, tacos, tortas, nachos, empanadas... you get it! Food quality is A-OK - nothing truly amazing but totally decent, and I've found myself coming back here when I need a quick hot lunch. My favorite so far has been the chicken empanadas, followed by the breakfast burritos.

I honestly just stopped at the gas station because I was super hungry & wanted a snack. I saw this small Mexican place in the back & it smelled good I don't usually do gas station food but it looked clean & like I said whatever they were making smelled amazing. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and cheese dip with a mango juice. Omggggg ones of the best quesadillas I've ever had even though I prefer shredded chicken this food was so delicious!!! Fresh onions and tomatoes omg so good! The mango juice was good also it tasted like fresh juice mango. I wanted to order again today but sadly they're closed but I'll be there Monday!

Authentic Mexican, great quality, great price. they have everything, tacos, tortillas, tamales, quesadillas, burritos, and plates. Steak Burrito was very good, a little bit too much mayonnaise for my tastes. Fish taco also very good, also a little bit too much mayonnaise. When I arrived, the three people in front of me in line were all Latino and ordered in Spanish, so I knew I was in the right place. It's counter service, everything is to go. There's no place to eat or sit there. It's in the back of the gas station.

This place has really good authentic Mexican food. They can get pretty crowded during lunch. Worth a try for a quick takeout. They are located inside the Chevron station in Va-Hi.

Very authentic, tastes amazing and great service! This is the best kept secret of Virginia Highlands, tucked away in the back of a Chevron station.

Consistently HORRIBLE customer service - last straw for us today - we won't be back. The head male cook is usually nice enough, but the women who work there are consistently unfriendly, screw up orders, and talk under their breath about customers. They (entire team) are all super stingy with providing the two exceptionally small (stingy sizing, too!) sized salsas, per food item ordered. You'd think these microscopic sized salsas are made of gold, the way they make you beg them to give you the actual number of salsas (2) that are supposed to be provided per item. Eggs are wet to the point of goop - probably just faster for them to not properly cook them. The second to last time we were there, it was more than 20 minutes before close, and they wouldn't take our order. No information provided online that they stop taking orders at a certain time before close, so we asked, so that we wouldn't waste time driving over again, but they wouldn't tell us what time they stop taking orders before close, and were really rude. Total waste of time.Today, we ordered ahead for pickup. We arrive with our order number, and confirmation of payment, and they say that they have no record of our order. We then have the pleasure of spending more than 30+ minutes disputing the charge for the food that we ordered, drove over to pickup, and never received. There are many wonderful restaurants with great food, and friendly, professional, and competent service in ATL - this place is NOT one of them. Don't waste your time or money.

Pretty standard fare. Nothing to write home about. Fast and filling as far as breakfasts go. You could do better, but you could also do worse. If breakfast tacos are your thing then it's worth checking out.

Not sure why the high reviews, finally decided to try today and was very disappointed, it's very flavorless! Especially for Hispanic food, will not return.
