Taqueria Tuzantla

I live really close to this restaurant and I always stop by the gas station. But I never took the time to step in until 1 day ago. And it was worth it, the food is really good home made Mexican style food . The prices are really good too and they have aguas frescas that they make fresh. The owner Roberto is the cook and also very attentive. When my husband and I ordered our food he got to it right away! And he persesonally came to check that everything was going good. He also gave us samples of the agua fresca he had, my husband loved the limon con pepino and I really loved the pineapple one. Plus he let us have a "sample" which was a whole big slice of Flan and Mexican dessert which was also home made. It was really delicious as well. Over the service from the time you walk in until you leave is amazing ! The waitress is also really friendly.

I came from out of town (I live near Mexico) looking for a really good Mexican place that tasted like home, and I can tell you right now, this place tasted EXACTLY how I wanted it to taste! The food I ordered were the enchiladas with chicken, the chicken is the best one I've had in a while, and the enchiladas were nothing short of delicious. The salsas were great, not too much spice or too little flavor either. The service was spectacular as well, both the cook and the waitress were very nice and welcoming with my group and. I If you're looking for a good and authentic taste of Mexico be sure to stop by here, I promise that you won't regret it.

Roberto was awesome! Not only was the customer service A-1 but the food was seasoned to perfection. This is definitely authentic Mexican food I've been looking for since being in Houston. Looking forward to my next visit to try something new. Thanks Roberto!

Arrived in location and the place is called something completely different. Didn't go inside as the place looks like a rat hole. At least the Taqueria that is in the parking lot..

Once upon a time, real good menudo was hard to come by in Chinatown. I had to search and search. Finally, my palate landed at Taqueria Tuzantla.Years ago, I always greeted by a friendly hostess/waitress in Spanish. I immediately responded and ordered my food in Spanish. I thought this was a pretty good place to have real Mexican cuisine that was so close to my house. Recent years, I stopped patronize this place because the staff changes. There are always young people at the counter didn't want to talk to me, even in Spanish. Ordering process became longer, because they have to find someone who speaks English. I literally have to prove that I could read Spanish by translating their restaurant hours to English. Come on, how many people are not bilingual these days.

Fantastic restaurant! Great service from a friendly staff. Definitely would recommend their shrimp or mixed seafood cocktail which is new to the menu. Under new ownership.

The ceviche was delicious. Highly recommended. Plus love the fact that they have natural orange water. Friendly service!

I came in today since I was running errands in Chinatown. The place has great menudo, tortas, pupusas, it's right next to a nail shop. So anyways, the food is very authentic and the prices are within normal range. The staff is so friendly, and attentive. I will be back again for a different selection on the menu.
