Taqueria El Pepe

Tried this Saturday and LOVED it. We had beef, chicken and pork tacos as well as quesadillas. Lunch and dinner until it was gone. Great folks behind the window, customer service was great and got the correct corn and flour tortillas where I asked for them and it didn't break the bank.

This is a place worth taco-ing about here in Jersey Village/Steeplechase. And wow, the tortillas really make it so good. We ordered 3 tacos with pastor. Moist. Juicy. Flavorful. And oh that burrito! It was beef, beans, guac, cheese and rice loaded up! I haven't seen a big one like that since being in California. Such a throwback to the old Mexican street vendors or the mom and pop stores. Do yourself a favor and try a Gordita. Carmen (one of the food truck workers taking orders) says that they make 40 Gorditas every other day. And they make their tortillas from scratch!I would come back here in a heartbeat. So good!

When I walked up the lady in the truck was warm with a smile and gave me a rundown of all the foods they had. I decided to go with the chicken Street tacos which were pretty good. Next time I'll ask for a more spicy sauce. The sauce that came with it was mild for me but tasty. I really like the colors on the truck and that it has all their information on it as well. Definitely a good thing! They also had some Mexican music playing and I enjoyed that as well. I will go back to try more and also I'll be able to call them before I pick up.The street tacos were $2.50 each, not bad!

The tacos are delicious my personal favorite are the tacos asada (beef fajita tacos) they were so good and flavorful with two great salsas to add on. The pastor taco are delicious as well. The service was great the cook as well as the person taking the order were both friendly and interacted with us as well. They are just starting but love that there is enough space to eat there. There is nothing better than a good spot to eat a taco standing up where you could always order more :)
