I may not have been in Houston for too long but you are going to find the best tacos right here from this food truck. It's been a while but last time I had the opportunity to visit I'm pretty sure they were in a different location and they have definitely stepped it up with the new seating area fit with entertainment. Love love love love LOOOVE these tacos!

MY FAVORITE AUTHENTIC MEXICAN TACO TRUCK! First off I'm from California and I know a great taco when I see it, smell it, and taste it! These tacos make me feel at home. So fresh, always get my order correct and great price! The staff is always friendly and in a good mood. Please try them out. I promise you will not be disappointed. Don't forget your churro !

This is my favorite taco truck. You can get 25 tacos for like $25. The combos are less than $8 and it comes with fries and an agua fresca. It gets busy so they usually give u a buzzer and you just wait in your car. They also have designated parking for their customers. Very good trompo it's what i always get. Their salsa verde is also amazing. Definitely go here if you're broke and want some good tacos.

Great, friendly service everytime I have stopped by and placed an order. Their tortas are very good as well as the piratas. They are one of the few local places with fresh trompo and it is delicious. I recommend ordering it around 4-6pm, as that is when it seems to be the most fresh. Their hours are amazing for those of us who eat late dinner, as many of the local restaurants close by 9 or 10pm and their truck stays open until at least 12am. One of my local favorites and all-time favorite taco trucks, closest to SE Houston-style trucks on the NW side.

Went to El Gran Pastor last night for the first time and all I can say is Dayumm! This place is legit. Waitstaff was very helpful and friendly to this Gringo. The food is exceptional and fresh. I've driven past this place hundreds of times and I'm not disappointed I stopped. You gotta try this place out.

After spending a whole day in the heart of Spring Branch, I was on the search for late night eats when I came across a Yelp ad for Taqueria El Gran Pastor. I've already made it a mission to patronize every taqueria throughout Houston and I'm pleased to note this is one of the best ones I've come across. If there was a streetside taqueria that has it all, El Gran Pastor checks off the boxes in so many ways: :: Dedicated lot parking, complete with spaces and signs.:: Restaurant pagers for every customer. Buy something and wait patiently in the car or wherever and the device will beep when the food is ready.:: Seating within their massive lot. There are tables and a standup area that is sectioned off from everything else. :: Credit card machine with tap ability and emailed receipts. One would think this would make the prices super high but their food is still incredibly affordable. (see more on this below):: They have a team of folks working hard in the truck, which means the food comes out timely and things are very organized.Above all, the meats, were very tasty. The chicharron had a little char but was full of flavor, their array of beef cuts had proper definitions on their truckside menu (so versatile), campchano was the perfect blend of both worlds, and their signature al pastor was from an actual trompo. Their large pirata style tacos (filled with cheese on an extra large tortilla) were excellent if not extremely filling at $7 each. I really appreciated their fresh cilantro, picante-worthy salsas, and overall packaging. To add to it all, the food is extremely affordable. Most of their platters are still currently $8 and the tacos are under $2 at $1.50-1.70 currently. I sincerely thought the latter were taquitos given how ubiquitous $1 taquito trucks are, but these babies were regular sized tacos at 3-4 bites each. I'll be adding them to my list of regular taqueria haunts and look forward to my next visit. I anticipate that I'll be here often, both day and night.

I live part time in Mexico and married to a Mexican. We live in the land of steak tacos in Mexico. The steak tacos here are literally slices of milanesa meet with no seasoning thrown onto a corn tortilla. Went to get tacos de tripa, were out for no reason given, and so we got steak tacos instead. If you google tacos de bistec, not one photo shows meat in a taco like this! Horrible menu option! OH! And the green salsa is gelatinous! WTH! Lesson learned to not return here!
