I wound up back in town for a small music festival at Venice Island, and this was the first place I came to. I ordered a shrimp quesadilla and a side of esquites, as well as a couple drinks. Both the quesadilla and esquites were larger than I thought they'd be. Usually when I order a side of esquites, it's only a few spoonfuls worth, but this was a fairly large bowl. Very good, though. It was cheesy and creamy and sweet with just a little spice. A good balance of flavors, and I really enjoyed it. The shrimp quesadilla was also really good. Lots of shrimp and a good amount of cheese. The habanero crema was a *little* too spicy for me, but it was good, too. The only downside to the food was that I couldn't finish it all and wasn't able to take the leftovers with me since I was heading to the festival right after, but I'm sure they would have been really good leftovers if I had been able to take them with! The drinks were also tasty. I got the mango habenero margarita and the spinarita (sangria and frozen margarita swirl. I didn't think the mango habenero margarita had much of a kick, but it *was* good. And the spinarita was delicious - I liked the blanace of the sweetness of the sangria and the sourness of the margarita. Outside of the food/drinks, service was once again top notch. My server (I believe he said his name was Peter) was very attentive and checked in the perfect amount. The rest of the staff was very friendly, too. Overall, I really enjoy Taqueria Amor, and I highly recommend it. If I were a local, this would for sure be one of my go-to spots!

I'ma native Californian, so I've been warned about the Mexican food in Philadelphia... the people saying such things are snobs. Taqueria Amor was a solid first experience, but by no means perfect. Each region will have its own take on food, and that's not a bad thing. It's not TexMex, authentic Mexican, not Cali fresh style. But it IS delicious, like most of the food in this amazing city.Burritos are only available on Mondays, so I took advantage of the timing to try the carnitas burrito for $13. The meat was good quality and flavorful, but it lacked that "fall apart in your mouth delicious" quality that I've come to love. The burrito came with avocado, black beans, romaine lettuce, tomato, and Mexican rice. The price was high for the portion size, which I was expecting. No complimentary chips and salsa, no band, no abuela expertly hand-crafting tortillas, either. Now that the bad is out of the way, I want to focus on what they did right. Fun Goonies themed decor and bright colors, big open spaces with lots of seating indoors and out, a full bar, and the staff were total sweethearts. I requested tapatio, which they didn't have. The server did bring me a variety of salsas and a bottle of valentines. The habanero sauce was spicy enough to satisfy my craving for heat, and the burrito was just big enough to not leave me hungry. The location in downtown Manayunk is cute, convenient, and safe. There are a ton of cute shops nearby so you can take a stroll after the meal or walk along the Schuylkill. This was a pretty good experience and I have to say, "hey man, nice shot" to the owners. Worth a visit, for sure.

The staff is incredibly kind and good at their jobs but the food was quite lackluster. They don't have any sort of cheese dip which honestly threw the whole visit off for me. My friend and I went to catch up over margs and queso and not having queso just feels wrong. Next to salsa (which my friend kept saying tasted like pizza sauce) guac, and our margs, we really could've used some cheese dip to cut through all the acidity. I got a shrimp quesadilla and was pretty underwhelmed. Nothing was inherently wrong with it but it wasn't very flavorful and didn't have much of a wow factor. Felt like I could've made it at home with the exclusion of the sauce. We sat outside in their little street booths which are honestly very fun and cute so I did really enjoy that. Overall, good staff and atmosphere but some odd menu choices and not the best/most flavorful food.

Came here after shopping at Expect Lace. They partnered for an Expect Lace margarita to celebrate their 6th anniversary. The margarita was so good (blood orange topped with Prosecco). We were seated right away and our server was great...good energy, attentive and friendly. While we just came for the margaritas, I ended up getting the mahi mahi bowl which was good too. If you're in the area, I'd recommend dropping in.

Everything about Taqueria Amor was delightful, and if I lived in the area this would 100% be my go to spot. The drinks (specially themed for the release of Taylor Swifts album!) were AMAZING. They were $12.50 each, but so worth it and delicious. The pork carnitas tacos and fish tacos were equally phenomenal, the flavor was amazing and they were both good portions. We also had a side of chips and salsa which is $6.95 for two (very good) types of salsa and a huge bowl of chips. The interior was adorable but we ate outside. Bathrooms are located indoors which was nice too. Everyone from the hostess to food runners to our server was incredibly kind. Our total for two special cocktails, chips and salsa, two orders of tacos, and an INCREDIBLE tres leches cake slice was $77.00. Incredibly well priced for the amazing service, atmosphere, and quality!

Maybe I just chose the wrong thing because the Birria (their special for the day) didn't meet my expectations. It was sorely lacking in flavor and i found myself opening the taco, pouring in consommé until my plate flooded and that still didn't help. More seasoning was needed, no way around it. Server dropped our food off and we didn't see her again until our food was gone. Decor was super cute though.

Holiday themed ambiance - A++Service - A++Crab Rangoon Dip - A++Margarita pitcher without ice - A++Went in for lunch and were warned about a strict 90 minute time limit. Holiday decor was super cute! I hope the overhead string lights change color and can be kept up year round. We ordered a lunch special pitcher of margaritas. It came in a bottle without ice poured over glasses with ice - fantastic! We got crab Rangoon to share from the holiday menu and it was unbelievable. I hope it will make it into the regular menu and stay beyond the holidays, as well. For entree we had the taco lunch special ($2 off tacos). We got the fish Ensenada tacos and pork Al pastor tacos - both were okay (pork was...chewy). Overall, we had a great holiday late lunch and I look forward to coming back to try more.

The service was excellent- speedy and friendly! We ate outside which was hot- but nice that it had shade. The traditional guac is simple, refreshing, and a fair serving size. The fajita sampler is plenty of food for two people to share. Everything was good, the only thing I didn't like was the grilled chives/spring onion that was basically impossible to cut or bite out of a taco. I wish I had asked for the queso on the side but that is more personal preference! We also appreciated that gratuity was included on all bills over $75 and that it was kindly pointed out to us by the waitress. Would go back again if I am in the area, but food was not anything to run back to IMO.

I visited this place with a group of friends. I came here because I was really craving Elote (Mexican street corn). I didn't have high expectations, but I hoped it would be decent enough to enjoy. Unfortunately, it seemed like the corn was from a can with some cheese and chili powder sprinkled on top. The flavor was not there, and the corn was overcooked, leaving a disappointing mushy and watery texture. After that, I didn't want anything else to eat, although the tortilla chips were good. The overall atmosphere was nice, but it was really loud, which didn't bother me too much. I will mention that the happy hour here is pretty early compared to most, so just be aware of that if you plan to come here for happy hour. The drinks were good, though, and it seemed to be a family-friendly establishment. Overall, the experience was decent, with some hits and misses in terms of food, but it was not a terrible experience, and the service was friendly and efficient.

Excellent and *huge* tacos. I had the Tingas and the mango habañaero margarita with the spicy salt. Taqueria was park of my Manayunk starter pack -- my next trip back will be during the week for happy hour.
