Tao Boba Tea

My boyfriend's brother and I have been trying to look for a good boba place in Raleigh that has a good variety of drinks at a good quality. This is the first time that he's genuinely liked a boba place in Raleigh and thought the drinks were good. We're spoiled by the sheer number of good boba cafes in OC, CA. I got the black sugar hojicha and added crème brûlée to mine. I think the crème brûlée made it a bit too sweet at first (until I cleaned up the crème brûlée and there was just hojicha left), but the drink itself was solid. My boyfriend's brother got the mango slushie and it was bomb! It's the first time I've 100% loved a fruit slushie at a boba place, from taste to texture. It was smooth, sweet, and had such a strong taste of mango that it didn't feel watered down or artificial. He didn't realize it had cheese foam and wasn't sure how he felt about it (he just doesn't like cheese foam as a concept), but I thought it was perfect. In addition to quality drinks, I loved the cafe's decorations! They were so simple but very aesthetically appealing, and there were plenty of indoor seats. The staff was very friendly and kind, and worked fast. The drinks are a bit pricey but for the quality and quantity, it wasn't too bad (my drink was $7.58 total and was a 24oz drink). My only issue was with getting there because we had to make about a 270-degree angle turn in a minivan to get onto the street and park there, but that's not the business's fault -- just be warned if you're trying to drop by LOL Overall, this is a great boba and will probably be our go-to place whenever we go on this annual east coast vacation!

This 5 star review is partly solely for the fact that they have Mochi topping for their drinks, or at least for a selected number of drinks. The only other time I've tried Mochi in a boba drink was by The Alley for a limited time strawberry drink they had, and I've been wanting Mochi in my boba drink for so long now!! This is the only place I've found that does it. So if you're familiar with Mochi pieces in general, in a drink they make it more drinkable and less thick, so that when you drink through the straw it comes up as "strings" of Mochi. The drink I got was their strawberry milk but I'm not a fan of milk so I changed it for coconut milk. I've tried it with oat milk but coconut is better IMO. I would recommend getting it with agar boba which is crunchy for some contrast to the Mochi.The rooibos milk tea is very interesting, I would probably not get it again but it might not be something I'm used to. I wish their cute cups came in the bigger size, because that's originally why I went. But I will return for the Mochi drinks anyway!

Not only do they have a plethora of boba and coffee drinks but the cups they come in are super cute! Staff is very friendly and helpful. About $6 for a medium. Would definitely come again!

Love this new boba place in Raleigh! The interior is really cute & well thought out, and everything was really clean. The tables weren't sticky at all, which sometimes happens in boba shops.The owner there was really nice - he was attentive and I could tell he was putting a lot of work and detail into the drink. The cups are adorable too! Hawthorn was my favorite candy growing up, and this is the first place I've seen with a hawthorn flavored drink. I got it 25% sweet, which was perfect for me. Will def be back!!

Atmosphere: Tao Boba Tea is a new boba spot in Raleigh! With an eye-catching exterior and aesthetically pleasing interior, we were drawn to give this shop a try. There are a decent number of small tables inside. Service: The owner, who was working behind the counter, was kind and patient as we decided what to order. Our drinks came out quickly despite there being a crowd ahead of us. Food: We ordered the Brulee Milk Tea (70% sweetness) and the Black Boba Milk Tea (50% sweetness). Both of our drinks met our expectations when it came to the sweetness level, which we appreciated. The Brulee Milk Tea was made with heavy cream added to the milk tea, which provided a richer component to the drink. The Black Boba Milk Tea was classic and did not disappoint us. The boba pearls were also quite fresh and added a nice, chewy bite to each sip. Overall: A very solid boba tea shop! The owner was friendly, and we can see he put a lot of thought and intention into the design of Tao Boba Tea. We're looking forward to watching Tao Boba Tea grow in the future -- we especially think there is a lot of potential for their menu offerings to expand!

The decor is very eye catching when you first walk into the shop. It wasn't busy when we went which was nice ave quiet. The drinks in the photo are jasmine matcha latte, mango pamelo and strawberry milk. They were all delicious and refreshing to drink. There's angled parking and it's within a cute little strip with a couple of boutiques. Definitely plan to come back!

I got the brown sugar boba milk tea. Hands down the best drink Iv ever gotten. Perfect amount of sweetness. Definitely recommend.

First thing,the medium size cup is so cute . I got the strawberry boba with strawberry popping boba, and it's so yummy. The strawberry tastes sweet and organic, and the place is so calming and aesthetic. I love it and I will come again!! Service was amazing.

This was a cute little place to have a date. We got a classic black tea and a Strawberry mocha latte. I needed a bit more sweetness in the classic the regular was not enough. I asked and the man behind the counter quickly fixed my drink and it was a lot better. The Strawberry mocha latte was refreshing and lite. OMG the cups are sooooo cute!!!Let me know if this was helpful!

I just ordered and a couple came in behind me. The cashier who also made my drink told me to step aside so the couple at the back can order. Mind you you these customers didn't advance forward when I stepped aside earlier. I only came back in front when I realized my order was not complete and "the point of sale machine " asked me if I wanted my receipt printed or emailed. That was uncalled for. I got upset and stormed out.Drink was 4/10.
