Tamashi Ramen Robata

Met up here with a friend for some ramen happiness, and they did not disappoint! While there are a plethora of ramen places around town, this one takes the cake for me.For one, their ramen is reasonably priced. I've seen some outrageous prices for ramen around town. Here, for $12, one can get a great bowl of miso, shoryu, or tonkatsu ramen. Of course, one can add on additional toppings to one's liking. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen, and it was very enjoyable. I love little texture and flavor components to this dish, the star of the show being the dreamy melt in your mouth chasu.They offer sushi and skewers here as well, which is nice if you're desiring something else. It was a bit dead when I came here for dinner on a weekday.

Came here for lunch, and love the decor upon entering the restaurant. There are "One-piece" pictures all over the walls. I was promptly seated. I ordered the ika geso, sweet soy ribeye, and Tamashi Menn. The ika geso was good. It was crispy and coated well. However, the quantity could be better. The sweet soy ribeye was yummy. The meat was tender and cooked perfectly. I had their number one ramen which was delicious. The broth was so shrimpy and flavorful. The ramen was cooked well. But the shrimps were overcooked. They were slightly tough. Overall food was good but could be better.

I tried the Salmon Don last time I went. I didn't love the flavor combination of the salmon in the dish. The salmon was a little bland. I do rally like the Chicken Satay. The Rib Eye Satay tastes like BBQ and is a little spicy.. it tastes like it's missing BBQ sauce. I got a california roll once and they literally covered it with spicy mayo. So I had to scrape as much of it off as I could so that it would taste good. It did taste pretty good after that. LOL

We went there for lunch. You need to sign in on their wait list sheet and they will call you when there is a table available. We tried their tonkotsu spicy ramen, Tamashi's menn, sushi platter, and takoyaki. The food was good. It would be nice to have more octopus in the takoyaki. The waitress was friendly and humorous. The staff was attentive, making sure we were good or if we needed anything. The decor was cute. They have wanted posters of One Piece. Upon entering, it looks small. However, they have another side beyond the wall on the right.They do an annual customer appreciation day, which is awesome! We will definitely go back to try their other menu items.

Great location next to HMart. Lots of parking in the shared lot (depending on time and day). Food was tasty and came out pretty quickly. Service was fine. The sushi was cut inconsistently with some fat and some thin. Would I come back? Yes!

Delicious curry dipping soup with a tiny hint of spice, perfectly jammy half of an egg, and a fun crispy fried kani (imitation crab).The noodles were all stuck together so I ended up just dumping the whole thing in making it more like a normal ramen. Food came out quickly and had water refilled frequently. A nice place for a small group!

Tamashi is tucked away and overshadowed from H-Mart in the ever so busy chinatown. Walking in, you'll notice a slew of One Piece wanted posters as part of their decor and adequate amount of seating. Tamashi offers alot of sushi and grilled options as well as a good amount of Ramen choices, for a decent price. I elected to get their chirashi bowl since it was a safe option and it was a very strong choice, as their fish was definitely fresh and tasty. However, I shoulda gotten their sushi/roll combo because that was also the same price but alot more!Tamashi has a lot of fans and I can see why, next time I'm here, I'll have to try their Ramen bowls.

Food here was great. The Shaggy Dog roll was on point, along with the nice presentation of the roll itself. I would recommend to get it without avocado, but that's just me.Not pictured, we also got the Salmon Don, Chicken Satay and Sweet Soy Ribeye. The Salmon Don was okay, but it does come with a nice teriyaki sauce which made it better. The Chicken Satay was amazing. We devoured that real quick. Both it and the Sweet Soy Ribeye were perfectly charred and smelled amazing. The ribeye I will say could use some sauce with it, but otherwise the meat itself was good as well.Overall great food, nice interior as well, and great service. Would definitely come back again real soon.

Ramen on a cold and windy day? Sold.Tamashi is located in the H-Mart center on Bellaire, right next to my favorite dumping place, Golden Dumpling! The menu features 5 different types of ramen, including a dipping ramen, along with various appetizers, tapas and sushi rolls.My husband and I ordered the calamari to start off with and it was some of the best fried squid we've ever had (we love calamari so we've tried a lot)! The crispiness and flavors were absolutely perfect - my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Highly recommended.I order the tonkatsu ramen and was severely disappointed. The ramen was lukewarm at best. The ramen was al dente but the broth lacked any depth. The flavor was good and they give you two slices of char siu, I just expected the broth to be not so one dimensional. They gave plenty of mushroom and bamboo, which was nice.The service was great and the price was okay - about $12 for the ramen and $8 for the calamari. I definitely won't be back for the ramen but the calamari might be calling my name!

excellent atmosphere, service, and food. I got the mild spicy tonkotsu ramen, which arrived quickly and was delicious (though a bit salty for my taste).
