Long time overdue review of a wonderful classy Indian restaurant in North Hills. We've visited twice and both times have been a fantastic experience.Finding a spot can be tricky so this is a place you want to book way in advance, we like this because by the time it rolls around it's like a nice surprise. CC is required to book. Given the effort, you should expect to be seated on time and usually we are, this last time there was a bit of a backup and the bar was filled so we just hung out outside on benches which was no issue, it was a lovely day. I imagine if you want to walk in and there is room at the bar you can eat there.I typically have the Hyderabad chicken and it always taste amazing, has that from scratch out of a moms kitchen. Our hands down favorite is the Dal Tamasha OMG sooo good. It's like a creamy bean dip, do not pass this up.The cocktails are fancy, all very good selections! If you don't want those, they of course have the full bar. They also have private event rooms which is great given the office park location. We usually get a dessert, they have one that is a full show and very good but sometimes you just want the ice cream .We will be back and this is my reminder to book my future surprise!

Had a wonderful experience here. Aside from their amazing decor, the food was exceptional. The naan bread was to die for- and I'm not even a bread person- butter chicken was my favorite, curry fish was flavorful, lamb was very good too. Service was exceptional. Alert: our table was for 3 people and the 18% gratuity was included in the bill automatically.

Tamasha is a disrupter the Triangle didn't know it needed when it comes to unique restaurants in the area. Food is an art here. You don't come here seeking the transitional Indian fare. You come here to see flavor culminate with artistry that shines and reeks of India. Your chef is on his way to win a Michelin star. This is a celebratory place worth every penny. Those cocktails inspired by an array of influences but improvised go make it their own. The dessert is fantastic and the wines are picked by someone who really knows the food and their grape. We LOVED our experience and certainly hope the staff continues to outshine with the service. I highly recommend that you come to Tamasha. One huge win is that they accommodate food allergies. Tamasha will give you the vibes and the thrills and the joys!

Food is always good and service. Atmosphere is chic. Definitely a place to come every once in a while or on a special occasion. Lots of vegetarian options! Our waitress was very nice and friendly. It is an expensive meal but that's why I say a good spot for occasional visits!

We swung by Tamasha for a friend's bday dinner. Upon entering we were left speechless by the interior design and ambience. Such a chic and modern restaurant. Their menu was very appealing and we ordered a bunch of things for the table. We ordered the paniyaram, kozhi vepudu, chaat platter, paneer pasanda, garlic naan, salted palm jaggery gelato, thandai lemon grass gelato and Khushi and berry breeze for our drinks. The paniyaram, kozhi vepudu and the chaat platter were out of this world. Loved the flavors, especially the chaat platter. The kale and the okra chaat were one of the best chaat dishes I have ever tasted. We weren't very impressed by the paneer pasanda and the drinks though. The desserts on the other hand were a flavor combination I could have never imagined to work but they were cohesive and were such an interesting take on classic Indian flavors reimagined as gelato. The service was a bit slow given that it was a busy day for them. No complaints there!

I give Tamasha a solid four stars. This is one of the best Indian restaurants we've been to in the Triangle. The top three, in no particular order, are Tamasha (Raleigh), Viceroy (Durham), and Lime & Lemon (Chapel Hill location). They're all good to great for different reasons. For us, where Tamasha excelled was ambiance, presentation, and service. The restaurant is open for dinner only. For a nice night out, it checks all the boxes.Of the three restaurants mentioned above, Tamasha is the fanciest and most formal. It has a fine-dining-type atmosphere. They have a dress code: https://tamashanc.com/dress-code-policy-2/ Suggestions include blazers for men and dresses and "refined tops" for women, "elegantly coupled with dress pants, jeans, skirts, or dressy shorts." During our visit, the dress code wasn't strictly enforced.Viceroy has a nicer vibe and finer presentation as well, but it feels more relaxed (it's in Durham, after all). I thought the food at Viceroy tasted better than the food at Tamasha. My wife thought the opposite. Lime & Lemon is great for casual, straightforward Indian food. It's ideal for families and big groups. They serve common comfort-food-type dishes. Tamasha differentiates itself with its swanky and intimate dining experience, atypical when it comes to Indian restaurants in the States. The food and drink are creative and modern with fusion elements.Tamasha opened in February 2024 in North Hills. It's located on the ground level of the relatively-new Advance Auto Parts headquarters building. We found free parking in the attached deck. We entered via Plaza St and took an elevator to and from our parking spot, walking through the office building lobby each way.We wouldn't have known about Tamasha if it wasn't for our Indian friends telling us about it. They discovered the restaurant via Instagram and later saw it on TikTok. Visually, this place is made for Reels and TikToks. The interior design is stunning and opulent. Case in point, Tamasha made OpenTable and People magazine's list of 50 most beautiful restaurants in America: https://www.opentable.com/blog/c/most-beautiful-restaurants-usa/ (Note: I think the list features OpenTable restaurants only.)This place is popular so be sure to book your reservation well in advance. Tamasha awarded 100 OpenTable dining points when we dined (not all OpenTable restaurants award points). We booked over a month out for a Saturday and even then, all the peak times were taken.Below is a list of what four of us ordered. It should give you a decent idea of what this place has to offer in terms of food and drink, and how much it costs.Craft Cocktails* Renegade Tigress ($18) - Amrut Old Port Deluxe Rum, orange, tangerine, ginger, egg white, peach bitters* Diamond in the Rough ($19) - Redemption Rye Whiskey, honey, lemon, maple, sunflower, fennel* Queen's Necklace x2 ($18 each) - Empress 1908 Gin, lavender, blueberry, lemon* Bagged Milk x2 ($19 each) - Tito's Handmade Vodka, Kahlua Coffee Liqueur, Disaronno, espresso, oat milk, egg whiteAppetizers* Four Cheese Truffle Kulcha ($14) - sharp cheddar, brie, Asiago, chili, black truffle dust, truffle butter, shishito pepper and black winter truffle added (market price for black winter truffle was $22 for 3 grams)* Kozhi Vepudu ($21) - chicken thighs, shallots, fennel, puffed wild black rice, fermented rice and lentil pancakes, curry leaf and kale pachadi* Dahi Ke Kebab ($18) - yogurt croquettes, caramelized onion, cashew nut, raisins, cottage cheese, tomato and jaggery dipChaat & Salad* Chaat Mate ($28) - purple sweet potato, crunchy kale, crispy okra, and tuk aloo chaatLarge Plates* Yellow Tail Red Snapper Coastal Curry ($37) - slow-cooked snapper, green mango, coconut milk, curry leaves, shallots, grapefruit, Swiss chard, steamed rice* Dum Ki Nalli Gosht ($47) - slow-cooked 10 hours, lamb shank roasted in aromatic gravy, saffron rice, burani raitaDesserts* North Meets South ($15) - elaneer payasam, ghewar, rose, hibiscus, coconut jelly, and young coconut* Salted Palm Jaggery Cointreau gelato ($9)Breads* Garlic Naan ($7)* Flaky Laccha Paratha ($6)All of the food and drink were gorgeous. They care a lot about the look of everything here. That said, I couldn't help but notice that the elaneer payasam (tender coconut milk/water) in our "North Meets South" dessert was poured out of a gimmicky $15 Aladdin genie lamp: https://www.amazon.com/Gusnilo-Legend-Aladdin-Collectors-Peacock/dp/B08KZS3C12 But seriously, everything looked amazing. The only disappointment was the Renegade Tigress cocktail, which we sent back because it didn't taste good. Everything else was delicious. Standouts included the Bagged Milk cocktail, Chaat Mate, and North Meets South dessert. The red snapper and lamb shank were very good. Also, the Laccha Paratha was crispy and satisfying.Service was great. Near the end of our meal, owner Mike came over to our table and personally thanked us for coming in.

We came to Tamasha for a tasty dinner with some friends. Reservations are definitely recommended as it is a popular spot. You can park in the garage right next door for free. Service was good - we had a very talkative but attentive waiter. It was a fun experience and we're glad that we went! However for the super high price point, we don't think we'll be rushing back soon.We ordered:Lamb Kheema Kulcha (minced spiced lamb, goat cheese, roast garlic butter)Kerala Pork Belly Bao (pork belly bao, Kerala spice mix, roasted garlic and chili dip)Purple sweet potato, crunchy kale, and shiso chaat (yogurt foam, tamarind, mint chutney)Paneer Pasanda (smoked tomatoes and red pepper makhani, paneer)Butter Chicken (char grilled chicken, smoked tomatoes and red pepper makhani)North Meets South dessert (Elaneer payasam, ghewar, rose, hibiscus, coconut jelly, and young coconut)My favorites were the Kerala Pork Belly Bao and the Paneer Pasanda. Really incredible flavors. The dessert was unique and had a fun presentation.
