Tamales Doña Tere

The forgot the tacos in our order. When we called they were very rude on the phone. Went back to pick up the missing tacos and they still messed up the order. The cashier was very rude and said he didn't care if we didn't come back, so we had to escalate the manager. We requested our money back from the manager. Would not recommend due to poor customer service. Will not be returning.

The combo #1 was all perfectly made fresh and from scratch. A pork tamale (probably the best maza I've ever had) served with Mexican rice (perfect spice and fluffiness), refried beans topped with a delicious white Mexican cheese. I was in Heaven and washing it down with a Mexican coke. Their tortilla chips and salsa verde were excellent.I forgot I had ordered a torta. A really nice girl brought it out. The different tortillas and breads they make are delicious. This torta was filled with a stewed tender chicken meat, fresh avocado, lettuce, more of that white cheese, and a crema.We are definitely going back. I recommend this restaurant to anyone. And, I don't even usually like most authentic Mexican food I try. The food here was excellent. You have to try it.The menu says they serve breakfast all day. I can't wait to try that.

Since you walk in you'll experience a clean place and a welcoming smile.This is my first here and I will definitely be back if I'm in town again.I had Chilaquiles with green sauce, I have to say presentation probably not there, but the flavor stays with you till you finish your dish. I also have to mention that they carry "Cafe de Olla" this is a coffee made with piloncillo and cinnamon. Doña Tere restaurant has a perfect balance, not to sweet, not to strong, is just great till the last drop.Love the place, simple, clean and price acceptable

It's hard to find authentic tamales. This place has them. I tried them all. Cheese and Jalapeño was the best. I didn't like the sweet one at all though. ...Probably because I'm plain white dude. Chicken tamale was solid. Pork tamale was solid. They are bigger then you expect, but so is the price. It's a good value. One is pretty filling.

Worst service ever....if u guys want to be treated like u matter after you pay...dont go here...I explained my order and it was like everything I asked them not to do they did....never again...When I send a msg..I was told they couldn't cause they didnt have that kind of service....talk about stupidity....makes no sense

I stopped in Tamales Dona Tere in the middle of the late afternoon. The place was completely empty. After eating there, I don't understand why unless people don't realize they have a regular menu selling authentic Mexican food besides just selling tamales. Perhaps the restaurant needs better marketing, but it's definitely not the food that is the issue. I had a delightful conversation with their employee Alexandra, and the food is really great. The guacamole is perfect, and as far as I'm concerned the best I've eaten in any local restaurant. Their tortilla chips are homemade and fresh. So much better than the store bought kind. I ordered a chicken tamale with green salsa and it was huge and delicious. Their chicken gordita was delicious, too, and huge. If you want really good authentic Mexican food, stop by this little diner. I think the prices are really reasonable and they serve breakfast all day, too. Authentic Mexican food from Pozole to combo plates. They have a variety of tamales and sell by the dozen, too. I want to go back and try out their other menu items soon! I'd be sad to see this place go for lack of customers, because it's definitely worth going to.

i got the menudo and my friend got the beef torta. let me start off by saying he thought his food was good (wasn't cut in half tho ) now the menudo? it was $12 (overpriced af!!) for the smallest cup i've ever seen of menudo at a restaurant. the tripe? sooo dry and did not taste good at all. the broth was decent (not dark or spicy tho kind of watery). my total was $25 (after tip) and i'm super disappointed. would not recommend for menudo at all.

Ordered breakfast tacos and a chicken tamale for takeout. The interior looks clean and there's a nice Houston mural on the wall and other neat art prints. The service was prompt and kind. The breakfast burrito wasn't anything special. I'm struggling to remember how it tasted and it was only a few hours ago. The flavors were completely forgettable. The chicken tamale was huge, but lacking in flavor. The masa to meat ratio was good, but the meat needed some seasoning. Even some salt would've helped. Lastly, zero heat in both these offerings. I don't mind this place, but won't go out of my way for a return visit.

Tamales are flavorful yet on the small side. Red and green sauces were very good! I would buy them again!

This place seems cool I may have ordered the wrong this but my food was ass. I paid $7 for a plate to open it up and see an ounce of beans and rice each also it come with one tamale which would have been fine cause it is so big. I got the pork kind but it was a small amount inside the actual tamale. I'm pregnant and have been craving them this place is not it. Staff is friendly though I won't be coming back very disappointed. Complete waist of money.
