Take the Cake

This is the second cake my best friend ordered for me from Take the Cake and did not disappoint.This round was a strawberry cake. The one before was the red velvet cake. Both amazingly good.

I was looking for a tres leches cake. After not finding what I was looking for, I decided to try Take the Cake. It was a good decision! The cakes are very large, so I decided to try their slabs of cake ( actually large slices). I bought a hummingbird cake and a German chocolate cake. Both were good, but the hummingbird cake was gone so quickly that I only got a tiny bite. Both cakes were good, but the hummingbird was really really good. So, if you are in need of cakes, cookies and cupcakes, give Take the Cake a try.

I'm a first time customer and I will be back! The vanilla sheet cake with strawberry filling was just what I wanted for my mother's 80th birthday party!

Cute, clean lil shop. Welcomed in with a smile, lots to choose from. MrM's fav was the lemon cupcake with blueberries inside. I loved the strawberry shortcake. The Tres Leches cup was yummy too!

Always fantastic and never disappointed. The cake is always on point and the service is great as well. Cute little shop on the northwest side of town.

After returning for my third cake from take the cake I'm extremely disappointed in my last custom cake it seemed very rushed after i ordered and paid in full the day of order 3 weeks prior to my birthday I asked for a heart shaped cake that feeds 10 they stated they do them and I asked for glitter which was barely noticed on the cake ...

They make great cakes here ! people are nice and understanding ! FLAVOR WAS AMAZING! the price was very reasonable. I will most definitely be coming back here ! birthday girl was very happy!

Got a cake made here for my son's 1st bday and asked for a simple blue frosted cake with sprinkles (we opted to use our own decorations). I was so happy when I picked up the cake it was exactly how I wanted it. In addition, the cake was delicious! We ordered a 12 inch vanilla cake and it was super moist and not too sweet. They were also very helpful and reasonable pricing especially for a custom cake! Love this place!

If you want delicious cakes and other tasty treats this is a wonderful local business to support. We started here a year after moving to Cypress and have used them for birthdays, graduation and holidays. The tres leches is one of our favorites and the confetti cake was a hit in January for a birthday. I met someone in line last visit getting a cake for their daughter who was heading to the peace corp. She said they have been coming here longer than my family and we started in 2012. So it's pretty dang solid as far as this goes. 100% recommend.

My friend loves "take the cake", so since her bday was coming up, I had the opportunity to check this place out and picked up one of her favorite cakes to celebrate!! Before driving up, I called the day before to try and place an order in advance. However, they had sold out of the cake I was looking for (chocolate truffle), so they told me to call the following morning, which I did, and then they told me to call later in the afternoon. I was getting kind of nervous because I needed the cake by the evening, but I'm glad everything worked out just fine. If you're wanting to order one of their whole cakes, I'd recommend calling them before going to the store, just to make sure they're in stock. As soon as I walked in, I was taken aback by the magical smell of the bakery. It was like you could taste the air. The employees were super friendly and helpful with my requests. You can actually have them write a bday message on the cake for free with the icing color of your choice. The whole cake was $48. Because the cake is so thiccccck, my friend had to slowly cut into it. Just the presentation of it was appealing, and I was excited to try a slice. This cake was DECADENT. Super rich and dense. It's got a great chocolate flavor, but I had to eat it in small bites or else it was too overwhelmingly sweet for me with all the frosting. Be sure to check your face after you're done eating this cake because you may have brown lipliner and chocolate in the crevices of your teeth LOL. I had to rinse my mouth a few times. Clearly enjoyed the cake a little too much. My friend loves these cakes specifically because the icing tastes like REAL chocolate, not artificial like what you get from the store. Quality is up there for sure. However, since I'm not the biggest chocolate cake fan, I'd love to try their other flavors too! There's a big parking lot with plenty of spaces!
