Tacos Selene

What a great spot! The inside is nothing to write home about, but the food is fantastic! I don't know how you beat $2.50 very authentic street tacos. Sides were super inexpensive as well. I will be back next time I'm in Denver!

Solid, inexpensive spot in the Santa Fe art district. Street parking, with tasty and predictable bites. Be sure to get the salsa bar and if you're feeling a sweet treat they have icecream too.

Tacos Selene delivers high quality food at a reasonable price, in fast order and in convenient locations. This Tacos Selene is similar to the others, just roomer. The Tacos are absolutely the BOMB! The salsa bar -- a perfect accompaniment to any meal you choose. No frills, no fuss, just good food. Friendly people.

The walls are pink, green and orange. It's a modest restaurant. Family owned, bilingual.You know what's not modest? .....Those tacos. My goodness... I cannot believe this gem has not came up on my radar! 2.50$ a taco. And I gotta tell ya worth every penny. Way better than those hipster $7 tacos. Also, pickled onions and jalapeñosRed onion, habaneros, pickled .Pickled radish. I ate so. Many. Onions. I can't believe how amazing they are.

The hubs and I wanted to give this a try for a little while so put it at the top of the list the next time we were in the area. I went with the barbacoa sope and got two. They were decent sized but not too big. The shell was a little crispier than I've had and I prefer a slightly softer sope. But the meat was seasoned really well and the salsa bar had some awesome salsas. My husband got street tacos / barbacoa, asada and carnitas. They again were the perfect size and fit the ticket. Service was fast and friendly. The other patrons were construction workers which is a really good sign of the food.

Ordered the sausage egg and cheese burrito. Fast and hot and the tortilla is amazing. However, the sausage is like cut up links... not like crumbled breakfast sausage. Hot sauces were on point.

Hold up...why have I not been here?? This place is tits! I've been living down the street for over a year and kept putting it off. Finally gave it a shot and, sure enough, it's awesome. I've been missing out this whole time...They suggested the carnitas burrito. I think it was like $9. Honestly, it's one of the best burritos I've had in Denver. It was good size. The meat was seasoned well, and the overall distribution of ingredients was on point so you get a little bit of everything in each bite. Overall great burrito and reasonably priced. Def going back. I'd give it a 4.7 outta 5. I'll be going back

I was very excited to try Tacos Selene as I have seen it in several lists for best tacos in Denver and has been recommended many times. I think it just got over hyped... I am always okay with Americanized Mexican food but if you are claiming to be a full on Mexican restaurant, then the expectation is very high.Anyways,Service: It's counter service and everyone that helped me pun was very nice.Ambiance:Very low key. There's a salsa bar which is well stocked and has delicious salsas. Specifically, the green one. Other than that, it is a very casual restaurant. The focus here is obviously on the food.Food:Honestly, meh. Maybe it's on me as I didn't try the tacos and got some sopes instead. I tried the pastor, carne asada, and pulled pork. They were all okay - nothing amazing and with so many new options out there, I feel like there's better places.I will give it another try to actually try the tacos and we will see.

So glad that Tacos Selene is in my neighborhood. Breakfast burritos, tacos, tortas, everything here is great. It's affordable. Salsa bar with the best salsas! Love those pickled onions with habaneros. And of course the gals working are always friendly. Would rather eat there than the other 2 spots on Santa Fe.

The food is always fresh, the service is amazing. I recommend this place to everyone I know and I plan on coming here whenever I can.
