Sweet P’s Cafe

Sweet P's was a sweet surprise!! We wanted a quick bite with a variety of options. It did not disappoint! Their special of the day (shrimp gumbo) was fantastic and had excellent flavor. The hamburgers were big and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our server, who was personable and very attentive. Don't be fooled by this plain-looking little cafe, it has a lot of heart and delicious food!!

It's a cute little "hole-in-the-wall" house cafe. Don't go for fancy Decor and parking... go for the experience of eating at someone's house with good food, great service and friendly folks!

We went at 9:05 am yesterday for breakfast but they weren't open yet and there were no signs of anyone being there. We had driven by it the night before and there were quite a few cars, sorry to have missed the chance to eat here.My rating is not a reflection of the restaurant since we didn't eat there, but thought it might be helpful to others to know that the hours may be wrong on yelp. We drove out of our way because of the high ratings only to have them be closed. 2nd time this trip we've used yelp and found out the business hours (Sweet P's, and also for a grocery store in Mart, TX) were not correct

The only place that serves Southern breakfast as good as my grandmas. Pleeeease get the chicken fried steak it's life-changing. Our server was so sweet and incredible. Cute, clean, and cozy, it's one of those little roadside diners that makes you feel glad you took a risk.

Very small sitting as it's in a single wide looking mobile home. Food is fresh and , good portions and is of course homemade, limited menu selection though

Great food and service, always our go to when we're feeling lazy! Burgers are huge! Love me them pickle chips! I think Wednesdays they have all you can eat shrimp and Friday all you can eat catfish, haven't tried either one been meaning to try, givem a try! Ohh try the fried chicken sandwich or the grilled pork chops! Our favs!

Let me tell you, sweet pea did not disappoint! Right off the bat, we were tempted by the jalapeño poppers, and they were nothing short of amazing.As for the main course, I opted for the cheeseburger while my husband went for the bacon cheeseburger. Just from the enticing aroma, we knew we were in for a delightful meal. The burgers were absolutely delicious, brimming with flavor and cooked to perfection.But it wasn't just the food that won us over. The women running the diner were the epitome of warmth and generosity, making us feel right at home with their polite and friendly demeanor. This wonderful experience left a lasting impression on us, and we are eagerly looking forward to our next visit. If you find yourself in Montgomery, do yourself a favor and stop by this delightful diner. You won't regret it!

This is some of the best food you will ever eat in the south. The chicken fried steak was outstanding - crunchy crust over tender and flavorful beef, served with mashed potatoes and cream gravy. The potatoes are worth an hour's drive by themselves. It's a fabulous hand smashed mix of smooth creamy potatoes and "rocks," what we call those delicious bites of solid potato that add a wonderful texture. The gravy is so creamy and has the perfect amount of black pepper.The burgers are handmade and a half a pound. Don't miss the onion rings - 13/10 - sweet onions and crispy breading cooked to perfection. Don't come here for the ambience, come for the food. It's an old building but it's spotless and the service is great. The portions are very generous, too. Looking forward to returning for fried catfish!

Okay, it's true ambiance and atmosphere are missing but the food was great and price was right. The nine of us just got off of a Disney cruise in Galveston and honestly the chicken strips and onion rings at this cafe were ten times superior to the ones on the boat! Service was great also. No Cinderella or Mickey Mouse but the kids in the group were happy and gumbo special was delicious!

You need to try the all you can eat Catfish on Fridays. You won't be disappointed! The sides are delicious too!
