Sushi Song

We wanted sushi, and the place we originally wanted to go was a little too far to walk (and we didn't feel like taking an Uber because Spring Break traffic was absolutely ridiculous!) so we found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a shot. It was about a 10 minute walk from our AirBNB off Washington Ave and 12th. It was surprisingly empty, except for 2 other customers, so service was quick! Our server and sushi chef were pretty quiet, but that was okay. I loved the mural on the wall. We ordered a few different rolls including their special rolls, and everything was delicious! There was an additional 18% service charge on top of added in 20% automatic gratuity. Overall, happy with this sushi option in South Beach that we found on a whim.

This place was a pleasant surprise. Located on Washington in the heart of South Beach, I would not have thought that I would be able to get quality sushi at reasonable prices. I came in here after a night of looking at art and in search of a quick bite. I almost walked right past it, on the Monday night I went in there was no one in the restaurant. At first I thought it might have been closed. Once inside we were greeted right away and given menus. My friend doesn't really do sushi but she ordered the shrimp tempura roll and devoured it. I had the tuna Cali roll and I have to say it was fresh, simple, and delicious. The restaurant is rather small but gives a cozy feel. We sat at the sushi bar and got to see the chef masterfully prepare our rolls.

Found this small sushi bar (only one table) when visiting Miami Beach. Very nice proprietor and the sushi was very good. They also had a spicy miso which was unique and quite good as well. Seemed to be popular with the locals as well. Very good service as well. Will be on our list next visit.

This place is on par with gas station sushi.It is never busy for a reason. I don't know how they stay in business. And I don't know why so many people are giving it good reviews.Food was overpriced and poorly prepared. I had to try it once but I won't be back.

Very disappointing! We entered at around 9pm and were seated. We waited 10 minutes with no attention while other parties were being attended to. By the way, it wasn't busy in there and 2 waitresses were chatting by the sushi bar. My husband then went up to those waitresses chatting and mentioned we were ready to order and she said, "where are you sitting?" He showed her and she said ok. We waited another 7 minutes to no avail so we left.

The place is open late and a few blocks from the beach. The sushi is prepared carefully and delicate cuts and taste very good. I had a bowl of soup, sashimi, and a special roll. The rolls were kind of smaller than I'm used to but it was a nice fill on my belly. I was just visiting but I'll be back next year. Try em out!

EVERYONE STAND CLEAR.The ONLY reason I am giving Sushi Song a ONE STAR review is because of HOLLY THE WAITERESS. For a sushi spot on the strip, this place clearly had no sense of hospitality.Holly tried to upsell every single dish and made us feel uncomfortable with smart remarks if we didn't comply. She even brought us two beers that we didn't order and got upset when we said to take them back.To worsen the situation, when my friend tried to order the filtered sake, Holly insisted that she get the unfiltered version. My friend obliged but said if she didn't like it she would switch to the regular filtered sake. The waitress brought out the beer and my friend didn't like it. When we tried to send it back, Holly refused and said "I'm not taking that back. Your gonna have to swallow that down".We were all appalled at her lack of customer service. She continued to argue that the unfiltered sake, which was not what my friend had initially chosen, was an acquired taste, and for us to give more "food for thought" before we "take a suggestion from someone". She even told us "opinions are like ass holes everyone has one".Despite her distasteful attitude, we decided to try to order more food. When we got her attention, she acknowledged us only to walk out the restaurant to hug a man smoking a cigarette. By this point, we were no longer interested in patronizing this establishment.We asked for the bill and for the imposed items to be removed from the check and we were met with more rude comments. One of my friends felt so uncomfortable, he left the table to go sit in the car.When Holly brought the check, we politely tried to tell her how dissatisfied we were with our experience but she kept cursing at us and cutting us off. She told us to write a review if we were unhappy with the service.For the first time in my life, I walked out on a check. I have never been treated, talked to, belittled, or dismissed in a restaurant like how I was today. The sad part is THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! THE CHEF WAS GREAT So much potential all ruined because of a belligerent, rude, unprofessional person named HOLLY! I feel horrible for the owner. Please let this girl go or TRAIN HER TO SPEAK TO A PAYING CUSTOMER. What we went through was not ok. I will NEVER EVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN.

Great little place that's easily missed. Love the different combo of rolls they have. Nice and chill place for great sushi!

Paul was an amazing waiter. He made sure are order was right and gave us everything quick.

Love South Beach and loved Sushi Rock. Popped into get sushi since old spot is gone. Sushi was fresh and was happy to be in a quiet spot. But had a piece of saran wrap in a roll. bummer. Server was like ooops. Didn't want anything for free. But feel like in high season you need to do the very most. Also it was crickets so can't blame the saran on it being super busy and be less flip about plastic in food.
