I'm always eager to support local businesses and had high hopes for Sushi Ronin but unfortunately, our dining experience was far from what we expected. While the service was fine and the staff were courteous, the quality of the food left much to be desired. The fish, which is the cornerstone of any sushi restaurant, had an odd taste reminiscent of soap, making it difficult to enjoy. Additionally, the rolls were significantly overpriced considering the quality we received. The hand roll was not edible as the seaweed was like eating rubber. We were so disappointed that we couldn't even finish our meal. It's disheartening to leave a local spot with such a negative experience, especially when we were looking forward to discovering a new favorite. My finance had a few bites and we still were charged over $120 on happy hour lol that's pretty wildly expensive.

My friend and I spotted this place while waiting for a table at blue pan. It was the perfect place to get a sushi roll and some edamame while we waited over an hour for a table at blue pan. Service was prompt and it seems like a quaint neighborhood type spot I'd love if I lived in the area.

Absolutely BOMB! The fish was so fresh and they were accompanied with perfect mild sauces that just brought the flavors of the fish out more, couldn't make any suggestions if I tried. We sat at the bar and Marin and Larry made our sushi. They were so nice and gave us recommendations and explained everything they put in front of us. The atmosphere was great. Easy to talk, very calming vibes. I will 100% come back

You can find this omakase experience in the Denver highlands...Sushi Ronin is a Japanese eatery & bar featuring artistic presentations of fresh fish in modern Asian style surroundings. We enjoyed omakase here for dinner & absolutely loved it.We arrived at Sushi Ronin and were seated at the sushi bar. Marin, Ethan, & Larry were the masters behind the sushi and it was awesome to see these sushi chefs at work. All three of them were so fun and attentive during our dinner service. Manager, Ida ensured our meal ran smoothly and checked in periodically. For cocktails I started with the seasonal, Pineapple Express made with vodka, gin, basil, simply syrup, & yuzhu. The Pineapple Express was vibrant green in color and refreshing in taste. For dinner we did the 'Ronin Omakase' which was the culinary experience left up to the chef. The omakase is always changing and is a dine-in only option. I highly recommend trusting the chef and partaking in omakase. Our omakase experience began with a palate cleanser - the Mandarin Elixir. The Chutoro Crudo was made with mid belly bluefin tuna, pomegranate zu, dragonfruit, golden beets, lemon zest, maldon salt, and micro chives. The dish itself was a gorgeous kaleidoscope of colors. The mid belly bluefin tuna offered a luxurious texture without being overly fatty. The smooth, buttery taste of the tuna went well with the sweet pop of the pomegranate and the mild earthiness of the golden beets. The Mukozuke was the Chef's choice sashimi accompanied by wasabi yuzhu, chive oil, chili crisp, rice puffs, chili threads, & pea shoots. The presentation of the Mukozuke was stunning. The sashimi was so fresh; I loved the texture variation of the smooth fish against the delicate crunch of the rice puffs.I enjoyed chilled sake with the rest of dinner. The Bluefin Tuna Flight included sashimi pieces from fatty to lean. The otoro tuna sashimi featured intense fat marbling which resulted in rich flavoring (far left). The leanest tuna was very low in fat and had a striking red color (far right). The Salmon Nigiri Flight included fresh Scottish salmon, New Zealand salmon, Tasmanian salmon, and seared Scottish salmon. The nigiri flight was exceptional. The New Zealand salmon was balanced and herbal. The Tasmanian was light & clean. The seared Scottish salmon was my favorite - it melted in my mouth with a gorgeous richness. The Canadian Crab sushi pieces were topped with black caviar & garlic butter. The lump crab was sweet with tender chew and the crown of black caviar really took this sushi piece to the next level. The Itovori, Threadfin Bream and Hiramasa, Greater Amberjack were served on ice.The Scallop nigiri was complemented by olive oil. The scallop was excellent - sweet & mild in flavor. The Godzilla roll was made with tempura shrimp, avocado, seared NY strip, and black garlic butter. Larry fired up this roll and we could see why it's one of Sushi Ronin's most popular. The Matcha Trifle was a Japanese take on Tiramisu - lovely in looks & taste.

Finally got around to trying this neighborhood spot with all the raves and it was worth the hype! Great sushi rolls- big, fresh, creative combinations. The toro nigiri on special was cut well and melt-in-your-mouth fatty with a nice pop of umami from the bowfin caviar. The chicken karaage was very crispy on the outside and had a great spicy sweet sauce. We tried the Ronin and Goku rolls; Ronin was my favorite but they're both very good. The atmosphere is a little **fancy** but they have a more relaxed bar area in back I would sit at next time ( also the HH specials are only available at the bar just fyi)

I recently visited Sushi Ronin with friends and had a pleasant dining experience, although it didn't quite wow me this time around. We had the Denver Dining Pass Book discount, which scored us a free roll - a great deal! The restaurant is located on a bustling street in the Highlands area, so if you're not up for circling the block for an open parking spot, they offer valet service for $17. It's a convenient option, especially when it's cold out and you don't want to walk several blocks. We decided to try a variety of rolls, including the Goku, Dragon, and the Nice and Easy. All three were quite tasty. The combination of flavors and ingredients made for a delightful meal. Sushi Ronin's quality remains consistent, and we appreciate the attention to detail in the preparation of these rolls. Service here is good. Very friendly, fast, and helpful. We made a reservation on OpenTable and are glad we did as it was pretty busy. One minor hiccup in our experience was the hot tea. I'm aware of what I ordered and expected it to be hot, but it was served in a mug that was too hot to touch, and stayed that way. I dropped my cup because it was scalding. Embarrassing move by me but if there was 1 thing I would suggest to them - it would be mugs with handles. Having been to Sushi Ronin before, I can officially say that it's still a reliable choice for sushi in the Highlands, and we'll return in the future.

Finally found this great spot for sushi and sashimi and Japanese cocktails in the popular LoHi areaFish quality was very good and I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors as well. This place truly understands authentic Japanese food and did not overwhelm the audience with heavy dressing like some other fusion places in DenverMy favorite was the sashimi combo with rice, the snow crab, and the shrimp sashimi with fried shrimp head. I would highly recommend the yuzu gin cocktail too!I will definitely come back. This place is very popular during weekend, so I suggest making a reservation ahead of time
