I really enjoyed eating at Surena with a friend of mine. We both ordered the Koobideh entree which is their most popular item at the restaurant. It was delicious. I also ordered one for my mother to go, but the kitchen was closed. The server named Reza had ordered the exact same dish to go for himself and decided to let me have it to take to my mother. That was one of the kindest things I have ever experienced at any restaurant. The restaurant was extremely cold. They have the AC blasting. It was a very hot day so I understand, but I pretty much needed a blanket to eat my dinner. The drinks were good, dining room was clean and the restaurant was decently lit.I will definitely be back again to try the other items and to eat the Koobideh again.

My mom and I love Persian food. We went here a few weeks ago and I just haven't had time to write the review but let me just tell you about this place and it's deliciousness. It is in a little shopping complex off of Arapaho and it's tucked into the corner so you might miss it upon first glance. I expected it to be just a casual little restaurant, but it has more of a sophisticated feel than that. We weren't sure what to get so we asked the waiter for his recommendations, and he did not disappoint. My mom ended up with the Surena kabob with Baghali Polo which is a lamb kabob with dill seasoned rice while I ended up with the koobideh kabob which is a ground beef kabob with zereshk polo, a rice dish with barberries. I especially loved mine. The kebab was excellent, tender and flavorful, The rice was very unique, as the barberries are similar in texture to sour pomegranate. I quite enjoyed it. My mother and I decided to have a coffee and a dessert. Again I asked for the waiter's recommendation. He ended up bringing out zoolbia and Bambieh which is similar to a baklava, but in my opinion, a little sweeter. He also brought out the most fantastic ice cream I have ever had in my life. It was a pistachio ice cream with chunks of frozen cream, whole pistachios, saffron, and to top it all off, it was made with rosewater.I wish I could have this ice cream every day because it was so perfect that this place could just serve that and they would have a line out the door. I don't remember what the price of everything was, but I do remember the food and the knowledge of the waiter and would highly recommend this place. La

We got to the restaurant closer to closing time but they were still kind enough to seat us. They did let us know that the kitchen was closing soon and that the restaurant would close soon as well. The service was quick and we were able to be seated, eat, and leave the restaurant in under 30 minutes. The inside of the restaurant is spacious and clean. The chicken thigh kabob came in a large portion that would satisfy about 2-3 meals. The flavor of the meat was good, but the chicken was slightly overcooked and a little dry. It was not bad considering how close to closing they were.

Only 4 stars because (even though the food and ambiance was good), the service wasn't stellar. Very friendly, but our server didn't know anything about wine and it seemed like they were rushing us. Also, the lamb Kabob was kinda tough.

Tried this place out for first time because I saw they had Chicken Kobideh which I love and is hard to find. It was delicious. The place doesn't look like much from outside but is very nice on inside. The Kobideh was excellent. The bread was a really thin type I wish they had nice thick fresh pita type bread I've eaten at other Persian places. Either way simple and delish food served well.

A great taste of Persian food. My first time there and thoroughly impressed by the food and flavor. The portion is HUGE. I took half of it home and had a great leftover meal the following day. The staff was absolutely the best and so nice. The environment is intimate and truly a serene area to dine. We spent about 2 hours there deep in conversation and enjoying our dinner. If you have never tried Persian food, I highly recommend Serena.

It took us years to get back but we finally did and wow did we miss this. This place is just as phenomenal as it was back when we last ate here. The service was informative, friendly and efficient. First time trying the Ghormeh Sabzi and it was so good. We also got the kabadoori which is always great. Happy to have returned and cannot wait to come back. Our toddler enjoyed everything too!

We called to make a reservation for 5 at 6-6:30 and were told it wasn't necessary they had plenty of tables. So, we drove 1.5 hours in traffic with our party of 5 and arrived at 6:40 and was told it was too close to closing and wouldn't take us. The very tall waiter was so incredibly rude and literally yelled at us when we explained we called and were told we didn't need a reservation and the website states they are open until 7:30. He said they sent the kitchen staff home because they were slow. Our guests were so incredibly disappointed. Will never go back here.
