They've got food most days, and great service everyday. I saw the most professional 'bounce' I've ever seen at a bar here.. an over polite back-down that was textbook Southern Hospitality. Elegant Texan Dive. If there is such a thing

What a sweet little bar! The regular patrons were welcoming to outsiders, drinks were cold and the ambiance was quaint and cozy. I'll definitely venture back over :) The bathrooms could use a good scrub but other than that it was a gem!

Came in to wait on my boyfriend. His job is right down the street and with traffic..., so i decided to head in. Its happy hour and the beers our ice cold. Enjoying the atmosphere and the music. Everyone is extremely nice and friendly. Sandy was the one behind the bar and extremely busy, but she still manage to service me with a smile. It is a predominantly Caucasian, but I did see other ethnicities in here, and regulars, laughing and cutting up. I enjoy this bar and would definitely come back!

I read all the posts below and am concerned with the "brown man" post.I have been going to this bar for quite some time and have gotten to know the staff and many of the patrons.I have yet to meet anyone who is a bigot or racist. We're just a group of fun loving people who enjoy going out, listening to live music and hanging out with our friends.I hope Brian gives the bar another chance, as his experience is not what I've encountered at Sundown Saloon.

Are you brown? Don't go. Called prior to heading inside to ensure dogs were welcome. Very amiable hostess Amber informed us that we could bring him on the patio and to do so we would have to walk him through the restaurant. Upon entering the establishment that was only populated by older Caucasian men, we were very brusquely and brashly informed by who I assume to be the manager, that dogs were not allowed.I attempted to clarify, saying that the hostess gave us the go ahead. The older, Caucasian manager would hear nothing of it and ostensibly told us to leave. Amber again piped up and said last week a woman was there with a dog, so she thought it was okay. Mind you, there was only one patron that wasn't on the payroll inside--so one would think they would welcome paying customers. I'm willing to bet the lady with the dog last weekend was white. The establishment was more interested in turning down two brown patrons than they were entertaining the business of two customers. Despite it being located in an ethnically diverse neighborhood, the proprietors cater to their Caucasian patrons. If you're interested in having a viable business in this part of town, I recommend you change your business to accommodate all residents that both live and work here. A word of advice to the manager: next time a patron enters with a request, seek to understand before denying admittance. This dog may have been a service dog, emotional stability provider, veteran service dog or other permissible canine companion. But you'll never know because you threw us out. Bottom line, you's a dick, bro.

Great place to meet friends and have a great time. I am one of the musicians in the Leftooright Band that plays at the Sundown Saloon regularly. The owners Bob and Deb have always welcomed me with open arms and appreciation. I had 8 or so friends come out this last Friday night and all of them loved the place and said they would come back!
